  • Oops! Edit: Just saw that other posters don't believe it either. Nevermind, agree!
  • I am in the same boat a bit! I started the challenge on a day with my anniversary dinner, eek! That said, I only went over on carbs on Friday (because of booze) but did on some cals/didn't zig zag. I am going to change my goal since I am not sure I am totally on the zig zagging train in terms of sticking with it absolutely…
  • I think you look fabulous (before and after). I can definitely tell there is fat loss on the after! Everyone has different preferences on what they want to look like and to me it sounds like you have reached your goal look with healthy habits, even if it is thinner than some people on this site are used to/prefer. While I…
  • Monday - Thursday: 0 Friday - 1 French martini at dinner, 1 double bock after, and half a bottle of chateauneuf du pape so....5 Saturday - 5 vodka waters And no hangovers :) 10 total...WIN.
  • You all are definitely making me feel better! I appreciate everyone's kind and funny comments, they are lifting my spirit. I'm sure that someone did mention it them...I don't really have contact with HR in my regular day. Who or why I will try not to wonder too much about as it will just irritate me. I totally appreciate…
  • I would have thought so too...but what is true generally is NOT true in my office. I can give 20 different example of people here who wear things that would not be considered appropriate in most work places. But it's true that now I know. Live and learn.
  • Just under 5'6" Currently around 140-144 (fluctuating like crazy!) I would like to get to 134 lbs and/or 19% body fat.
  • BUMP! When are we starting? I might start today so that I can finish for a wedding I'm going to two week from today... Name: Kate Goal: Break plateau in any way (inches, weight, body fat) Challenge: 1. Don't go over on carbs for meals. Caveat: I don't count alcohol carbs. I know it's cheating but I'm 23 and very social. 2.…
  • Thank you! It's a good time of year for those sorts of things :) We had actually known each other for ages (like since grade school) but didn't date until I came back from college. Funny how those things work out!
  • Looks like we're doing pretty well! Tuesday - 0 Wednesday - 0 Thursday - 0 Tonight is my one year anniversary of dating my bf so there will likely be wine consumed and tomorrow there will be plentiful booze as well, I'm sure! I am going to try to take it easy tonight so that I am not hungover and can work out on Saturday…
  • It is possible. But in that case, my body and I are not on the same page. If I didn't drop another pound but dropped fat % it would be fine but that isn't happening either...
  • Do you eat back your exercise calories while zig zagging?
  • I keep track of body fat and inches using a handheld monitor. I worry about its accuracy but I figure it's at least consistent!
  • 1. 23 years old 2. Banana, probably. 3. I do both diet and exercise. I take exercise pretty seriously and am trying to continually improve my diet.
  • That's true...I wasn't attacking! Sorry if I misunderstood just in the context of the last several pages of posts the conversation has shifted towards EDs (not just people are thin, etc.) so that was my mindset. I think its a valid point for us all to remember and I didn't mean to imply you were out of line at all. I just…
  • Be careful here...it's not about being "small" people with serious EDs are not just someone who wishes to small but whose health is in danger from a serious behavioral/mental disorder. Agree that we should not discriminate or judge but I am uncomfortable with using "too small" and ED together. Hopefully this sight teaches…
  • No drinks all month!!! Couldn't resist...happy june all and bump!
  • Have you measured inches or anything along those lines? I hate the scale sometimes...I've been at a plateau for almost 7 weeks. BUT I've really been working out...I know I'm stronger and I am working to put better food in my body. Those are both victories even if I didn't enjoy all the success I wanted. Keep it up, I know…

  • That's true and it's not...People with EDs will withdraw when confronted often but we are also talking about a life threatening condition as halina pointed out. An ED MUST be dealt with at some point. People don't usually just grow out of it/get over it. It requires help. Don't you think?
  • What is the difference between offering support and encouraging their ED? Can you provide some examples/phrases etc. ( (honest question, not an argument!
  • Great question! Also, very productive point to draw from this!
  • Everyone! Stop knocking down straw men here! Many of you are taking what someone says, simplifying it, distorting it and then pointing it out as invalid. It's not productive. Don't say STOP JUDGING if someone says "I'm concerned people don't have healthy goals." (one example of many) I've said it before and I'll say it…
  • I can only speak for myself personally...I am DEFINITELY jealous of some of the women on here! They look amazing! They are fit and healthy. They eat well and look it. I would love to look like them someday and I am happy to say so. But I am also bothered by some of the profiles I referenced above. It truly makes me sad.
  • I totally get where everyone is coming from...MFP is everyone, I totally agree. However, can we honestly say it is not disturbing to occasionally see people with goals in the 90 lbs range or who seem to be in favor of being thinner than is healthy? (Edit: I am talking about people who are PRO ED, not just…
  • It's great to be focused on your children in the way you are...more people should be! However, children do best when their parents are happiest. It's hard to be TOTALLY fulfilled without a partner in life, especially for such a long time. I echo what others have said. Give it a try, I'm sure you will block your children…
  • One of my favorites was, "Yes, Victoria's Secret models are doing squats and deadlifts. And yes, that's completely hot. Guess what they're not doing? Watching Oprah every day while walking on the treadmill for 60 minutes."
  • I agree! What he said about building strength to a point really made sense to me. I know yoga has changed my body in the last (lost weight, trimmed, gotten stronger) but there may be some dimishing returns at work, as there with any exercise that doesn't become more difficult. While there are certain more difficult…
  • Agreed! That's what I was saying in the second paragraph I wrote.
  • Um, it is okay that, if I'm honest, this is maybe the primary reason I want to lose weight? Maybe not number 1...I wouldn't put the hours in at the gym or try to eat well if I didn't also feel better mentally and physically and it meant great things for my health. BUT, if I was doing all this without the "side effect" of a…
