If women are expected to provide their own birth control (pill, IUD, what have you) it's completely reasonable to expect men to bring condoms if they haven't had a vasectomy. You have the equipment, you bring the protection. It's very simple.

That's great to hear, but unfortunately a pill - no matter what the pill - does not in and of itself cause weight gain. Sorry, but it just doesn't. When a medication states it can cause weight gain usually that means it can slow down metabolism or increase appetite. So perhaps it all coincided BUT a pill on its own simply…

I'm not particularly advanced as a runner, but this will be my second season out. I am aiming for 45 running KMs - I say running because I also bike. I have two races scheduled for April 04/03 - Around the Bay 5K, Hamilton, Ontario 04/24 - Forest City Road Races, London, Ontario

Due to being single I do a lot of meal prep and batch cooking, so I don't always buy the same things from week to week but a fairly normal list for me is Apples Bananas Green/Yellow Onions Avocado Bagged salad Shredded Cheese of some kind (usually mozzarella) Sweet potatoes Cucumbers Hummus Blueberries/Raspberries Greek…

Very kool tid bit of information . . . did not know that.

I think that poster misunderstood your original post thinking you said you normally are on a treadmill but this time you weren't . . . In any event the thing I've learned about running and knee/ankle/general joint pain is that knee (or other joint) pain is often the sign of pain, but not the source of pain. So if your hips…

Ha ha this is too funny because as I was thinking about what I would call my book all that came to mind is "I Want My Mommy" lol

Looooove this one. It's pretty much what I attempt to do every single day.

At least 5 but I aim for 6. Currently I am in a running clinic, training for a few runs this year so that's my focus and I make sure I get those 3 runs in every week. I aim for 2-3 days of cross-training/cross fit of some kind. Sundays I lift heavy, Tuesday/Thursday I either do cross fit or strength training. I also row on…

What kinds of fruits are you including in your smoothie? For me, for example, pineapple will do this to me. I love pineapple but I can't eat it because I don't digest it. I have the same problem with raw veggies that are very high in fiber. I can eat them cooked, no problem. But raw I just can't handle it. I also get the…

Well that's a tough one . . . I have so many  Almost always on my list is the following Lose Yourself - Eminem Lose Control - Missy Elliott Run the World - Beyonce Jump - Flo Rida Check on It - Beyonce My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark - Fall Out Boy Fight Song - Rachel Platten

Cardio is good for endurance and your cardio vascular fitness. For example, I have found that since I started running I have a much lower resting heart rate and my breathing is better (IE I take in more oxygen and I am not constantly breathing in and out). Weights are great for strength training, sure. But you need some…

Okies but why? Did you eat any form of bread before? Also, there is some debate as to the effectiveness of this so take it with a grain of salt and realize I am only speaking from personal experience and am not a doctor, why do you only eat 3 times per day? I eat about 6 times per day in small amounts and I'm never starved…

So I'm pretty tall - at 5'10 - and I do get that I can eat more and lose weight simply because I'm a bigger person so I burn more every day. The hard part for me is this: I did a bod pod session and I have 140lbs of LBM on me. That's more than some women weigh all together. Without considering doing some kind of figure…

I wash my hair every day anyways. Naturally I have very curly hair so when I work out and I sweat a lot (which is pretty much every time) my hair will get kinda gross so I just wash my hair every day. I also use product in it, so after I put it up into a pony tail it just won't look or settle right without washing and…

Well then I guess you're just that special snowflake. Sorry but if this is legit then you should be studied as a rare speciman of a human being because if you eat less than you burn you will lose weight, that's just how it works. If you have a medical/metabolic condition it might make it harder, but not impossible to lose.…

Diabetes (pre or otherwise) won't fix this. Unless you have some kind of genuine medical condition which makes it difficult (but not impossible) to lose weight then I'm not sure how you could have got to be "very overweight" without eating way more than you need to. I think what's happening is one of two things: 1) that…

This, too! Women especially are horrible for getting something in their heads like don't eat after 7, don't eat bread, only eat "clean", etc and they don't want to hear anything else. I have also learned to just not put my two cents worth in when they discuss diets and weight loss.
-
This - every single time. Like yes I know I'm not tiny - I get it. But what I also get is I've lost and kept off 80+lbs, so I feel like the knowledge and experience I've gained along the way might be even a little bit helpful at some point. Also, from a very skinny girl who eats very little all the time, don't eat carbs -…

I have used one for about 2 years now and I can't say enough amazing things about her! She's a registered dietitian who specializes in two areas: sports nutrition and those who are obese (moderately to severely) looking to get down to a normal weight. She doesn't give me meal plans per se, but she has taught me how to eat.…

So as a bustier woman I wear the underarmour sports bras. I love them! They have sizing like an actual bra - not just L, XL, etc. They are designed for high impact movement such as running or spinning or aerobics. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM! As for regular clothes, I know some women here have said they aren't big on form…

Oh man, so much this for me too! No matter what I do or what I eat (or don't eat) before I run I always have to go to the bathroom. When I'm training it's not big deal because my running routes are usually on roads where I can stop at like a coffee place or something but when it comes to race day they don't have…

Also - how do you have 0.1 cup of broccoli and 1/8 a cup of frozen veggies? Can you even fit any of those kinds of veggies into an 1/8 of a cup? I also agree that you're probably eating a little more than you think you are. Edited because spelling is hard for me apparently.

Exactly. Also your first log in is February 8 so I don't think you can say you religiously log . . . because it's only been one day.

This . . . so much this. I know a couple people who are diabetic and at a wedding we went to last summer they had to leave twice to inject insulin because there was more food and alcohol than expected. I was like really? So that's the solution? Not stop eating or pace yourself or control your intake . . . no, just take…

I have a similar situation. I have a girlfriend who has two children (born in 2010 and 2014) and since her first pregnancy she has gained quite a bit of weight - she's only 5'3 so it shows very easily on her frame. I am 5'10 and am a bigger person than she is. So over the last 8 - 10 months she's mentioned to me on several…

Ha ha ha my thoughts exactly. Pretty sure the original post about a chocolate diamond wasn't meant to be taken seriously . . . or even if it was, let's all just be happy :)

I think it might be the time of year - I haven't changed anything about my routine or schedule or eating habits and since New Years I just feel like crap, and I can't seem to get it together. Lots of people have this. It can also be a sign of iron or Vitamin B12 (I think - don't quote me on it) deficiency in conjunction…
