Thanks! Luckily I am in a house this year, so I am able to cook almost every single thing that I eat. I'm up every morning to make breakfast and lunch for the day. It's a good thing I love cooking, or else I would be completely screwed in this weight loss goal! I have edited my goals semi-recently. I'm definitely slightly…

If you live in the suburbs, you can run through neighborhoods. If you want a purpose, start training for something like a 5k or a half marathon or whatever level you are at. That's what I'm thinking of doing soon to really have a purpose for my runs!

Didn't look to see if this was posted or not, but this blog is dedicated to healthy desserts! It's also vegan, but from looking through it you can make non-vegan substitutions pretty easily: http://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/ For myself, I'm partial to frozen fruit. I'm currently snacking on a bowl of frozen mangoes and a…

I maintained at around 120 for a few years easily. I was never really overweight, but I gained about 5-6 lbs and maintained that easily as well but was uncomfortable with myself. I'm now 115-118 which doesn't seem like a huge difference, but I do feel a lot better. Probably mainly because I'm eating way healthier haha. I…

Couldn't agree more. I eat and exercise in a healthy manner, but right now I'm 53 calories over and the red really bothers me. My dinner is logged and I'm about to run so I will be in the green at the end of the day, but that red is not good for my brain!

Three blueberry pancakes (made with greek yogurt, so healthy and full of protein!), 2/3 cup egg whites scrambled with some feta cheese on top, and two pieces of turkey bacon. 41 grams of protein and 386 calories, and it was so satisfying!!

Can you eat an apple or something that will tide you over until dinner? I think the most important thing is planning what you will eat if you know you will be starving. When I have days that I'm out of the house from 8am - 8pm, I preplan the crap out of my day because if I don't bring enough food with me, I know I will…

Very similar to me! I'm 20 and studying Psych and Spanish as well in the US. Anyone feel free to add me, I'd love to start making some more friends on here!

I would also recommend trying flavored yogurts...higher in calories but amazing! I made pancakes with apple pie Greek yogurt this morning (dannon oikos) and OH MY GOD it was incredible!

I have another one to share!! 6 oz 0% plain greek yogurt 3/8 cup flour 1 tsp baking soda 3 or 4 tbsp of egg whites 273 calories, 29 grams of protein. Just mix it all together! The batter is really thick so you have to spread it out on the pan some to make bigger pancakes. But they are delicious! Healthy but so so…

I made turkey burgers last week to freeze, and I cooked one for dinner. Topped with a slice of cheddar cheese, a tablespoon of light sour cream, and a good amount of salsa. Mmmmmmm. I was really impressed with myself! I put barbecue sauce in the burger, and that made all the difference as compared to my last batch. Also…

I was going to post something like this too - I thought I was eating healthy, but when I looked at my potassium levels I'm under by AT LEAST 1600 mg a day if not 2000+. I'd love to know what kind of effects this can have and how to add more into my diet.

In my opinion it depends a lot on your personality type/how your brain works. I was fine counting for a few months but I've gotten too caught up in it as I tend to do. The amount of time I spend thinking about it is unhealthy. This happens with other things in my life as well and I always have to step back eventually and…

I love it! I've posted similar thoughts recently. I started back in June and have had success counting, but I'm to the point where it's stressing me out too much. I've created healthier eating and exercising habits than I've ever had in my life, and I'm happy with them. But putting in every calorie is too much for my…

Yes, slow down!! I was having a similar problem - toward the end of my 30-40 minute run, I could only run 2-4 minutes at a time. I knew I could run, but I just couldn't do so continuously. Everyone on here told me to slow down, so I tried it. I ran AN HOUR STRAIGHT the other day (albeit with breaks at stoplights, less than…

Totals 1,366 151 45 104 Your Daily Goal 1,380 138 46 104 Remaining 14 -13 1 0 Calorie Carbs Fat Protein Woo! This is the closest I've ever gotten, and my meals planned for tomorrow are close to the numbers as well (except under on carbs). This is a great ratio for me for now. I'm making an effort to up my protein, but it…

I haven't necessarily given up anything, but I've scaled back and learned portion sizes, especially for things like pasta and rice that I LOVE. I stick very rigidly to those portion sizes and I still manage to be satisfied. I was lucky in the regard that my parents didn't let us drink soda, so the only things I drink…

Thanks everyone! I set it at 40-30-30, so I'll try it out for a week or so and see how well I can adjust!

I actually just added a morning snack, afternoon snack, and dessert/other category so that I can see better how my food is spread out throughout the day. That's for my own purposes, because I'm still trying to figure out the best way for me to eat to keep blood sugar levels stabilized and to feel satisfied but not…

It's really easy! Here's a link: http://www.howsweeteats.com/2012/10/exactly-how-i-roast-my-chickpeas/ This is going to have to be my new snack, it satisfies my cravings for crunchy and salty foods :) Maybe next time I will try some cinnamon on them!

It's not regimented on purpose. After a few months of tracking, this is generally how I eat and is the easiest way for me to get through the day. If I have a larger breakfast, I will be hungry around the same time and will be too hungry by lunch. So the midmorning snack is important. If I am too full after lunch, I am…

I don't, but if I didn't have 4 other roommates I totally would! I just use measuring cups for everything, but I know that's not super efficient. But I also try to overestimate when I'm logging just to be safe.

In the past when I counted calories, I ended up with a lot of disordered eating habits and thoughts. I was so obsessed with the number and it really consumed my life. I was scared to start up again, but I've been doing really well this time around. Giving myself that buffer where I can go over my "goal" but not have to…

I don't know why everybody's saying to go eat out as much as you want...I'm a college student currently living on my own during the summer and I'm trying my hardest to eat every meal that I can at home! Eating out makes it way more difficult to eat healthy, and I know I certainly can't afford 6-10 dollars a meal more than…

Are they going to freak out if you say they need to make their own food sometimes? Everybody in the house is an adult! If you are trying to be productive and eat healthy, you shouldn't have to cater to their desire for junk food. I don't know anything about your family dynamic but I think that's reasonable. Especially for…

I preplanned my meals for tomorrow on the food tracker, and I'm right under 1400. :) I feel like it's a matter of taking the time and also having the right foods in the house. If I don't have time, I will make a sandwich or put some leftovers together and that's usually just rice and a protein and nothing else. It's not…

This is my overall goal, although I'm still trying to figure out the best things to eat. I just moved into my first house about a month ago and am on my own with a real kitchen for the first time. I also currently work ~9-4 and have class 6-8:30 3 days a week which leaves me very little time in general for things I need to…
