• Sorry, your first post and all, but that is your opinion, yes. Facts, hardly. You must not be getting much sleep with your body panicking all night! And with all that binge eating each morning when you get up...and your comment about insulin is wrong. In every way. Otherwise... I don't understand your overeating on…
• Love PB2. I mix mine with coconut cream at 10cal a Tablespoon and it is pretty dang tasty. I also use it alot to make dressing for oriental chicken salad and Thai coconut sauce. And my fav: toast, PB2 and BACON.
• Seriously, try Magnesium supplements (the "magnesia" in Milk of Magnesium). It is safe, an important mineral many people are low on, and best yet...no more constipation EVER. I take 500mg morning and night of Magnesium Oxide; it isn't expensive and it literally has changed my life. Obviously, I cannot recomment it enough.
• 1 slice toasted. Melted Peanut Butter. BACON. 2 slices of BACON.

• What an incredible inspiration you are. I wish you the very best in whatever this new life holds for you. Thank you for sharing your very touching and personal story. You are a testimony to courage.
• The diet that works best, is the diet you can stick with. Period.
• To the OP I would ask, I don't know? Do you feel better eating this way? Are you reaching your goals? Do you feel hungry, deprived? Or are you satisfied with your intake? What happens when you eat carrots? Want to learn more about carbohydrates, you were given lots of resources. Check them out. I personally find the…
• I weigh myself everyday. Somtimes twice. Whatever is the lowest weight, I record it.. The scale is my friend and keeps me accountable. Plus, I just think it is so facinating how your weight can fluctuate.
• OMG, I don't have the time or the inclination! I just make sure it gets in there and as the day goes on, I move down the list. And worse, I am getting to the point where I just use my quick calories instead of finding each item on the list. I am compulsive about counting and knowing: not so much about reflecting it on my…
• I still drink wine. 1/2 bottle of red wine is under 300 calories. Vodka and soda is probably the lowest of the low cal drinks at 64 calories. Add a small splash of cran = 100. Serve it in a tall glass, even better. Cheers
• As you will soon hear...a calorie is a calorie and weight loss (or gain) is about calories in and calories out. My question to you is are you happy with the way things are going? Are you satisfied with your diet and weight loss? Do you think that "changing things up" may help and not hinder your progress? Is there any…
• I am with you: but I dilute mine even more than that; straight up it is just too sweet for me. I am on the fence with artificial sugars. Personally (that means me, just me, no one but me) I don't think the science is definitive one way or the other. So, like you, I use it to get more water in me, when I am sick of plain…
• Eggs are the cheapest and what may be the most perfect form of protein you can get. Ditch the cereal and eat a couple of eggs. Or hardboil them for lunch. Make egg salad. Yogurt is also a good form of protein. Tuna was a great suggestion. Also, I would not assume you are sore because of a lack of protein. You may want to…
• Not that this isn't a good site, but my guess is there is a whole lot more out there on vegetarian forms of protein than here. Do you eat eggs and cheese? Eggs are almost the perfect food. Sorry, didn't see the above. Agree X2 seafood and eggs.
• If you don't want to change your diet...that leaves changing your exercise routine. You don't need to go to a gym to do that. But I think you probably already know that.
• People have been exercising and working out long before they started calculating "calories burned." I think it is almost irrelevant if you are sweating, pushing yourself, and feel the workout. Who cares how many calories you burned. Personally, if it bothers you, stop counting them. Just do it because you need to and get…
• What are your goals? Are you meeting them? How do you feel? Are you hungry or satisfied after your smoothie? If it is working for you, why bother changing it. If is isn't, you may need to look at that, as well as what you are eating overall and how much. Personally, I try to limit my sugar intake. Eating refined…
• Frankly, asking questions is great, but for real, taking the advice of strangers on the internet is just as precarious...not that you aren't getting good advice (settle down, folks) but you need to do the research and educate yourself. Then you can decide. I have no idea if your Dr. is a quack or not nor would I presume to…
• I haven't noticed my tolerance drop because of low-carbs...my tolerance has dropped because of low cals. I have had a drink more than once after fasting 16 or 18 hours. Straight to the head. Usually I am eating at the same time, so it isn't a big deal, I just feel it. Otherwise, I drink a lot of Vodka and Soda with lemon.…
• Felt the same way around week 3 - hey! I can do this! Ran three days in a row. Hurt my knee. Three weeks before it felt good enough to do fast walking. Go slow and be kind to your body.
• Fear mongering? Come back and testify in 20 years was a challenge, nothing more. No name calling (what is up with that, are you 12?). No put downs. No slams. But apparently it offended you greatly. Sorry. That really wasn't my point. Age changes your body. In most people. I don't believe in absolutes. I don't believe what…
• Microwaves with destroy all the nutritious content.
• I think it depends on where you are in your routine "continuum." If you are just starting, yes, I would give yourself a break - altogether or as suggested, work on something else. If you are simply pushing yourself and experience some soreness, I would try to work through it. There is no science to this, it is just my…
• Sounds just wonderful! Thanks!
• Such an inspiration. As well, you are generous with your support and always kind. Best to you!
• I had to go on hiatus due to a knee injury so don't have much to contribute, but agree wholeheartedly - the boards are a mean and ugly place these days. Thanks for a oasis of kindness and wisdom.
• I think I was really really carefully and saying it was personal or for folks with issues, no? The OP is obviously just starting to figure things out and there are no absolutes here. And yes, as I said, LUCKY you. Not everyone can or should be snacking on candy bars. It is what got them on this site in the first place...
• As I said, good for you. It is a LOUSY snack for me or anyone with metabolic syndrome, insulin resistance, carbo-sensitive, etc. Carry on enjoying candy bars as snacks!
• Classic case of projection...And you are delusional if you think this message board deals in facts.
BW, "Carl Sagen" isn't a person. Well, he may be a person, but he's not the person you're thinking of.
Talk about EGO! You presume to know who I was or wasn't thinking of? And Carl Sagen isn't a person? What,…
• Yes. You can. Sounds like you are learning a lot. Should you? Only you can answer. One perspective is you should not if it will make you hungry. While sugar and carbohydrates don't affect everyone in the same way, it can lead some to greater hunger and cravings. If you aren't one of those folks, lucky you. If you are, you…
