As far as green onions go, store them in a glass of water on the kitchen counter. Seriously. That's it. Change the water every day or two. You can cut off the top half, put the root end back in the water and they will grow back. No more wasted green onion!

I met my current partner via OkCupid. I would highly recommend it. Do answer lots of match questions, then look for people who are 90%+ Match with you. Easy!

Yes. I have tried that too. No luck there either. :( It's both the flavour and texture that I dislike. If it was just one or the other, I think I could find a way to get around it. I'm surprised that I hate it so much. I read so many positive product reviews online.

A scale or hand-held device that measures body fat% would be more use useful than simply just weighing yourself. You want to lose fat, not just 'weight'.

Great pics! I went to Iceland in 2012 and it was simply amazing. I'd love to go back some day!

You look terrific! The physical aspect of losing weight and maintaining it is hard work. But we often don't talk about all the mental changes that come along with it. This can be even more of a challenge for some of us than diet and exercise. Thankfully, there are a lot of great resources out there. One book that was…

If you want to find the right 'labels' for you, that's great! A little self-reflection and introspection can really help you figure out who you are, then it's just a matter of being able to describe it. On the other hand, if you don't want to be defined by a label, that's cool too. :) The choice is yours and both are…

Eggs are a great breakfast food because they're high in protein and keep you feeling full. Lots of good suggestions so far, but I'll add a few more: - baked beans and toast - Canadian bacon (back bacon or peameal bacon) and sliced tomatoes - sauteed peppers, onions, and black beans with salsa and cheese - smoothies with…

I know I felt embarrassed too when I first started working out. I think everyone does, so don't beat yourself up over it. Just go out there and do it. Find a workout that seems the least scary to you, whether it's a DVD at home or a jog around the block. You will feel amazing once you've accomplished what you set out to…

I'm worth it!

I love Tajín (a Mexican seasoning made up of chili powder, lime, and salt). Toss that with a little melted coconut oil in your popcorn. It's delicious!

Your body will self-regulate and take care of the excess water retention within couple days. Just eat well, drink a reasonable amount of water, and avoid high sodium foods. Diuretics are NOT necessary. Your body has all the tools it needs to take care of this on its own. I always gain approx 5 lbs the week before my…

Depression. I've struggled with it all my life. I've used both binge eating and binge drinking as crutches at different times in my life. I've completely managed to stop the binge drinking, but still working on the binge eating. Thankfully, as I've learned to manage my depression better, managing my weight has gotten a lot…

Yeah. The nutritional information is based on weight before cooking. The noodles absorb more water the longer they cook, so you can't have precise nutritional info with cooked noodles. :)

Mix in a spoonful of maple syrup. It's delicious!!! I ate it that way for years, and have been gradually getting used to using less sweetener as time goes on. I can enjoy it now without anything sweet added. I do still usually throw in some hemp seeds or chia for the extra fiber.

I prefer to work out in the evening. I've tried working out in the morning, but I ended up feeling like I didn't have enough energy to get me through my day. Also, I'm not a morning person. Finding the motivation to drag myself out of bed to go to the gym = super difficult! After I finish my shift at work, I like to have a…

Try the calculator here: http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/ I'd suggest the best way to gain muscle and lose fat would be to eat just below and/or up to your TDEE and get some cardio exercise regularly. Make sure you're eating healthy most of the time, getting enough water, etc. Belly fat is stubborn. It just…

If you want low calorie, you'll have to go with veggies instead of pasta. Most noodles are high in calories. I just eat pasta less often, and eat less of it when I do. There are lots of great Italian dishes that don't revolve around pasta!

I've struggled with emotional eating since childhood, so I know how challenging this can be. It does get better, and having friends who understand certainly does help! Friend request sent. :)

I used to feel really self-conscious on the treadmill. It seemed everyone else who used them could run like a gazelle, while I could barely manage a slow jog. I was sure they were all judging me and criticizing me. Eventually I realized that those other gym patrons didn't care that I couldn't run as fast as they could.…

You look great!!! Glad to hear your health has improved, too. It's amazing how losing excess weight not only impacts your physical health, but also your mood, your self-confidence, your sex life. :)

I know that tone adds a lot of context to the words being uttered. So, I can't know for sure if he was trying to be funny, perhaps? But just taken at face value? OMG! If my partner said anything like that about other living, breathing human beings I can assure you it would be the last time I'd ever speak to him. The…

1. Know what triggers your binges. For some us, it's boredom, stress, anxiety, depression, certain people or certain situations, etc. It varies from person to person. Know what your triggers are and keep a watchful eye for those situations in your life. For me, it's definitely stress and depression. 2. Know what actions…

Truvia contains 3 g of erythritol per packet. Erythritol is a sugar alcohol, so while it is a carbohydrate it does not have the same number of calories per gram as do 'regular' carbohydrates. It contains 0.2 calories per gram, so 1 packet of Truvia would have 0.6 calories. They are permitted to print 0 calories since it is…

I weaned myself off soda by mixing it with sparkling water, gradually increasing the ratio of sparkling water to soda over time. Now I drink it straight with a squeeze of lemon or lime. It's refreshing without being sweet. You can mix it with juice, too. I use equal parts cranberry juice or orange juice with soda water.…

THIS. A lot of foods that are good sources of potassium may be listed in the database as having 0 mg potassium because it isn't mentioned on the food labels. If the fruit and vegetables in your food diary have 0 mg potassium, you can be sure it is probably inaccurate. A good site for complete nutritional analysis of…
