@RoadsterGirli How's that saying go? "Haters gonna hate" ?? :-) What's important is how you feel, not what someone who didn't know you back then thinks...Nothing else matters. Wayne

>> Not grip but my hands hurt when I have that much weight. I've talked to others who have the same issue >> and gloves haven't helped. It might be my hands. Not an instant fix, but you might consider using a set of those "stress balls" (little rubber squeeze balls) to strengthen your hands as you go.

While not part of an exercise DVD or anything, I have taken to walking carrying a pair of 5 pound dumbbells. It's amazing how heavy these tiny 5 pound dumbbells get after swinging them around for a mile or so... Yeah, I know... Wimpy.. Yeah, I get it, but hey, it's something to consider if you want/need to work out your…

{edit and snip a lot of rambling} My opinion of it all is that while McDonald's might never be what you would consider "healthy" food, of all of the typically American "fast food choices", they are (now) probably one of the least damaging to you --- IN MODERATION... I will say that they've come a LONG way towards to…

Hey! Idea!!! I'm sure I can't be the first person to think of this, but we should each totally try using meetup.com (or here) to set up meetings locally with other MFP members as a group...! Everyone here says they miss the meetings (but not the staff or the price) so why not get together on our respective own to do it…

I was in WW for over a year. 15 months to be precise, and it worked for me for the first 12 months (in Chesapeake). I lost nearly 70 pounds. My original meeting group and leader were fantastic, then I moved to the DC area which is far more "Yankee" than Chesapeake. The meeting leader at my local center -- the only one with…

@amwood89 Congrats on the loss so far, but don't get discouraged by a plateau. Just set a shorter goal, say 3#. You'll meet that (no matter how long it takes) then set another of 4#. Before you know it, the plateau will be long behind you and you'll be golden. Good luck, Wayne

Reba (if I may?), December 2011, I was 315#. 9 months ago, I was at 250 doing weight watchers in Chesapeake, VA. Then "life happened" and I moved to the DC area (which I loathe with a passion)... I quit Weight Watchers due to a variety of reasons, the biggest being a lack of support locally. 6 weeks ago, I was back at 283#…

I don't have a witty graphic or anything, but the populist phrase is "anonymity breeds contempt"... People who don't actually (physically) know you find it easier to be obnoxious over the web. Some people don't even realize they're doing it, and others read what they want into the text. Reading and comprehending Internet…

@OP, As much as I feel for your pain, I just feel compelled to point out that some people will just be A*holes. The alcohol usually just brings it out of them easier. I know how my friends truly feel about me (the description they'd give a stranger if they were looking for me in a crowded store) and it hurts, but I'm here.…

Thanks. I do check in weekly (on Monday mornings before work just to maintain "same time, same day, same clothes, etc), but haven't reached any sort of recalculation point yet. Just to be clear, I was asking about the initial starting number of calories you get every day (that I'm guessing was generated by MFP based on…

Let's don't go all wonky or PC here peeps. I think the OP is just curious (as I would be) to know who on MFP has lost the most weight, not to crown any sort of "champion", and not to brand someone more or less of a "winner". We're all here. We're all trying. By very definition, that's absolutely great on everyone's part,…

Phyllis, I had (operative word, had) a Fitbit One, which is the little pocket/beltclip version up until June 1st. "Had", because while the device was fantastic, the soft-rubber clip that held it would randomly simply "let go" of the Fitbit, leaving it to fall out/off, hit the floor and promptly become hard to find.…
