Ride downhill with a huge tailwind; add on 80 pounds in the packs. It's the only thing that works for me.:laugh:

I'm having issues with over heating this year while riding in temps above 84 degrees. Not really sure why. To compensate, I'm riding at night and in the morning. I'm riding much stronger this year than last, so I"m feeling good. But, the heat really gets to me now. I guess it's because I am an old, old man now.

Work has gone really badly over the last three days. I've had about 10 hours of sleep. If all goes well, i should get in a ride tomorrow. I haven't even had to read any news about the actual, real TDF. Glad some of you are getting in some fantastic rides.

The RAAM riders ride within 2 miles of my house, so I see some of them every year. Last year, I saw the old team and talked to one of the team riders for about 2 minutes. Very motivating guy, out riding in his 80's. Right now, I'm riding the Katy Trail across Missouri, and I've been seeing about 5 riders a day on MO state…

Sorry, lightening, rain and wind cut my tour short today. I'll ride in the rain and the wind, but the lightening isn't my thing. I almost got hit last year on a 63 mile ride. The lightening hit a power pole next to me at mile 60.

I listen to audiobooks, which can be distracting. Many times though, I find myself day dreaming about the next ride.

Well, my boss ruined my plans for riding today. Sorry team. This current contract that I'm working really sucks. He walks in every morning and just creates new emergencies all day long. I'm still working on crap he wants done by tomorrow morning.
