Well said op. I agree 100%. I have kept changing my settings to keep my daily calories higher. I am at 1600 NET now (1/2 pound/week) and have never went lower then 1450. The 1450 was hard for me as I had less energy and motivation so I upped it after a couple weeks. I am not tall (5ft 5) and losing weight just fine without…

I will do my normal cardio (treadmill) this afternoon. Today is like any other day around here.

I drink between 8 and 10 8oz glasses a day. I don't drink coffee or juices so when I am thirsty I drink water.

I didn't get any comments at Christmas as I saw everyone at Thanksgiving, but at Thanksgiving my aunt asked me were the rest of me was.

I'm logging the best I can as most of the cooking for the holiday meals are done by other people. I will be over today as I couldn't say no to my MILs homemade cookies.

I need to be in good health as one of my children is physically disabled. I need to be able to take care of him without hurting myself or him by being to out of shape to move him around. I also know he will need be to be here with him for as long as possible and that would not happen if I continued to be obese.

Heights. Even small ones, like 3 rungs up a latter and my heart rate sky rockets. I freak out driving over high bridges, especially if they go over a body of water.

I have lost 64lbs in 6 months. I started out with 2lb a week goal, and as the calorie allotment got lower I changed the goal to 1.5lbs per week, and now at 1lb per week. You can do it if you follow your plan closely. Also, you don't have to starve to lose it. I have never had my calorie goal less then 1350 NET, and that…

I track my calories burn by heart rate. I use this site. http://www.shapesense.com/fitness-exercise/calculators/heart-rate-based-calorie-burn-calculator.aspx I also go by NET calories burned, not gross to help from over estimating calorie burn.

I was about 30lbs in when I finally bought new jeans, 40lbs in when I got new shirts. I have been only buying new things at thrift stores as I need to size down every other month or so. I make my shirts work for as long as possible and am only on my second size down on them, but I need jeans that fit and have replaced them…

Congrats!! That is something to be very proud of. We all start at different points and need to celebrate our own goals. I remember when I first started trying to run and being excited to run a mile without stopping.

I was around the 40lb mark when people started making comments. I didn't buy new clothes until then, even though what I had was to big and I think the over large clothes hid the weight loss. As soon as I started wearing things that fit I had a ton of comments.

Congrats!! Well done!

I didn't want to do Santa with my first, but did after awhile everyone convinced me I should. I am very glad I did. She loved Christmas and the magic of Santa, and when she was older we explained everything to her. She started questioning Santa at 6 and at 8 we told her the story of St. Nick. She was not crushed to learn…

My husband always says he going to get me one of those 5lb candy bars, which would sit and tempt me to eat it all.

Vanilla Greek Yogurt I have it almost every day. When it was summer I had a bowl of watermelon every afternoon.

Congrats!! It's a great feeling to go down a size!!

I think a lot of different factors come in to play here. My dad tells me I look a lot younger with my weight loss, and at 32 I was carded the other day. My friend who is the same age as me lost 40lbs and looked much older at first, but now that the skin on her face is tightening up so she looks closer to her age.

Today was the first cheat day I have taken and ate about 2400 calories. I was over by about 800, but I saved 200 or so calories everyday for the last 6 days to help with today.

I will be staying in my little town with no stores and avoid going anywhere all weekend.

Nothing, not even the pancakes I had for breakfast, as I am still within my goal at the end od the day and happier for having my treat.

I look at my weight loss that way to. I get excited when I hit a new 10lb bracket. It really makes it feel more successful when you have a lot to lose.

Green beans give me a horrible headache. I mean one or two bites and 10 mins later my head is throbbing. My son gets hives from them too.

I am the parent of a physically disabled child. My 90 something male neighbor told me "You are a great mom, and that young man of yours is blessed to have such a dedicated mother." That is by far the nicest thing I have ever been told because some days are a struggle and worry about failing him.

I will be pre-logging. My family goes to me parents house for noon and my ILs for supper so I feel the need to track so I don't go way over with two big meals. My mom gave me a menu with her recipes so I can calculate out her noon meal. My MIL makes a lot of the same things as my mom so I will use her info to fill in for…

Walking has been my main source of exercise. Until the weather got cold I walked 3 to 7 miles a day on a nature trail. My speed was around 3 to 4 mph. I also do some light aerobics(1 or 2 days a week for 20 mins) and run(my run is not much faster at 5 mph). Over the summer and fall months I didn't run much, maybe once a…

My thigh and shoulders were first. Now I see more difference in my face and stomach. My hips and arms are getting smaller, but much slower.
