Hi there...I've been doing 16/8 IF since the beginning of the year, and I was seeing an improvement with my A1C -and lost about 5 lbs in 6 months lol. I wasn't really tracking what I was eating, nor was I restricting myself from anything, just my usual diet. I started keto at the end of July, and to date I've lost close to…

Today I have a baked chicken thigh (with the skin), topped with 2T of spaghetti sauce, 1T pesto, 1/3c Italian shredded cheese. On the side I have 1 1/2c shredded cabbage sautéed in 1 slice of pork jowl, S&P, and a little red chili flakes. I baked the chicken thighs on Monday and I've been eating the same thing for dinner…

The pho? Or the fat bomb? Eh, I'll post both...they're pretty good! Almond Cream Cheese Fat Bomb 1/2 cup lightly salted almonds, coarsely chopped 1/2 cup cream cheese pinch red chili flakes Mix well and stuff into a celery stick, or pipe onto zucchini rounds (or other veggies). I also spread it onto fathead pizza crust…

Hi, Kat...welcome back! Ive fallen off the MFP wagon a few times myself, and am glad to be back on it, as I am sure you are, too! If you don't mind my asking, what calories and macro goals have you set for yourself?
-
I made vegetarian pho last night for dinner, and it was pretty good! Of course, my daughter ate it "as-is"...I added some thinly sliced pork chop to it, and then had a chai latte with heavy cream to boost the fat for my meal. So today I have leftovers for my lunch! I am also having an almond cream cheese fat bomb...

I just found these jalepeno popper fat bombs, and they look pretty interesting! I think I will give these a go last this week! https://lowcarbyum.com/savory-cheesy-jalapeno-fat-bombs/ The recipe makes 6 fat bombs. Each one is 208kcal, 20g fat, 1g CHO, and 4g protein.

It looks to me that your protein is high...Unless you are doing a different version of keto? If you are trying to stay at 1355 calories per day, then you should get 948 calories from fat (105g), 135 calories from carbohydrates (33g...this isn't net, just straight carbs), and 271 calories from protein (68g). This is…

I track calories and my macros. It’s become a habit now to log what i eat here. I find it easier to control my weight and manage my health. I am on 1500 calories per day, and provided i am +/-200 calories, I’m satisfied with it. My macros are 70/10/20, and it seems to be working...I’ll consider changing my ratios if/when i…

Fasting won't jeopardize your progress, and actually helps ketosis. Ketosis is when your body is burning its own fat for fuel, and as you aren't taking anything in, you will have to burn body fat. There are quite a few people who do intermittent fasting in conjunction with the keto diet.
-
At first, I didn't worry too much about calories. Just cutting back on sugar and carbs was tough enough! I focused on keeping my carbs under 50g per day and drinking enough water. Every two weeks I would check my MFP and then make another small adjustment...probably not the most efficient way to do it, and probably not the…

Today, I am making chorizo con huevos for lunch...About an inch or so of soft Mexican style chorizo, fried til the fat is rendered out, then crack in two large eggs, plus an extra yolk and scramble til soft set. Then I top it with some pico de gallo and half of an avocado.
-
That's tough...though quite a few articles do indicate that a keto diet over time does help with IBS symptoms. Lets start with what kind of fats you are currently consuming, 70% of your diet is currently comprised of these products, and as you are sticking with it, those fats aren't bothering your system. Are they dairy…

I would also recommend checking to be sure you're getting enough fat with each meal/snack
-
I totally agree with planning your meals, and having some go-to snacks handy. I have 3-4 meals I have every week, and then try a new recipe once a week. I aim to have each meal/snack in ratio (for me that's 70% fat/10% carb/20% protein). I also have a couple of fat bombs ready to go in the fridge just in case I haven't…

My FAVORITE keto dinner is Green Keto Hash: 2 strips of pork jowl, cut into 1/2" pieces 1/4 c diced yellow onion 4 oz 75/25 ground beef 1 tsp minced garlic 1/2 c shredded cabbage 1/2 c sliced mushrooms 1/2 c broccoli florets 4 c baby spinach 1/2 c. water 1. Over medium high heat, saute pork jowl, until fully rendered and…

I think it's all those little moments, too... For me, it's being able to put my socks on without feeling like I am going to suffocate, lol! It's being able to comfortably cross my legs, and it's also being able to say "No" to food when I am not hungry, without causing myself anxiety. Maybe in order to get "that" feeling,…

My macros and weight loss goals are pretty similar to yours, so I am interested to hear what others have to say... I haven't been eating back my calories consistently, but have on occasion when I needed the extra fat. I spin M-W-F, and lift T-Th-Sa.
-
This is my experience, too...My eating window is 12p-6p. If I am absolutely ravenous (light headed, feeling weak, etc) at 9a or whatever, then I'll have a snack, but if it's just a little hunger, then I can wait til 12p. If I "break the seal", so to speak, then I am hungry all day. It helps me pay more attention to whether…

I drink a gallon of liquids each day (16 oz is my morning tea or chai, and 32 oz is water with electrolytes). As soon as I finish a 16 oz glass, I refill it...about once per hour...and I don't let myself pee til I finish the one on my desk! It makes me drink frequently, and helps me finish each glass lol...
-
Hang in there! Maybe just focus on making sure you've discovered all your hidden sugars, and that you're getting enough fat and water?
-
Salutations, Everyone...I'm Teresa. I've been doing keto for two weeks (the first week was more of a learning process while I figured out calories, carbs, fat, protein, etc...the second week, I think I had a better handle on it). I've lost 10lbs, more importantly I've lost 1" from my hips, and 2" from my waist, so far! I…
