Start with modified-knee pushups. If those are too hard, back up to chair or counter top pushups. If those are too hard or you are rehabbing from a shoulder injury, start with wall pushups. All can be googled on YouTube for instructions on proper form, etc.

Hi Anna! ^^^ this. I just took a look at your diary and have many of the same questions. How are you calculating your portion sizes and calorie count? I would encourage you to verify every pre-loaded entry that you may be using on MFP. I have found many items in the food resource lists that are under valued when compared…

Try strength training that incorporates body weight exercises ... pushups, tricep dips, lunges, box jumps, etc., etc. There are also lots of video programs you can do at home and routines you can find on-line. YouTube can be a great resource for you to find new routines. You can also make "weights" with empty milk jugs…

You questions are really more appropriate for your medical advisors. Maybe your doctor can "prescribe" a few visits with a certified nutritionist after your medical procedure is complete. But in general, it is pretty difficult to mess up one's metabolism permanently. You might just need to help your body re-program what…

There is a saying: " It takes 4 weeks for you to notice your body changing, 8 weeks for your family to notice, 12 weeks for the rest of the world. Give it 12 weeks." 2 lb loss per week is awesome!!! (1 lb loss per week is also great - and it is sustainable. So if things slow down a bit from here, don't be discouraged.)…

Tough time of year for this suggestion, but if you can get access to a heated pool, I highly suggest you look into some type of aqua exercise. After my auto accident a couple of years ago, my body could not tolerate much in the way of any type of weight bearing exercise ... my PT put me in the pool about 14 weeks…

Just for today ... I will choose my new jeans (3 sizes smaller than last Christmas) over the potato chips I just bought for guests tomorrow ... Just for today I will stay focused on how good slim feels ...

Just for today ... love it ... I can do this!!!

Hey Jon, better grow a thicker skin AND a sense of humor if you are going to last in this community. MFP is full of folks who will jump all over you if you can't figure out when someone is joking with you ... Good luck to you ~ and to you to jofjltncb6 ...

My hubby's favorite: Stew meat (or another cut of beef of your choice) and a jar of your favorite salsa. Cook all day. The meat breaks apart. My DH likes it just the way it comes out of the crock pot, heaping scoop in a flour tortilla. I like mine over rice and steamed veggies for a complete meal. Hearty and healthy.

Focus on that ... wanting to be healthy. Exercise for the health of it. Choose nutritious food over crap food for the health of it. The rest will follow ...

"Upping" to what? Looks from your post you have been eating at 1250 calories per day?? But your diary is not open so hard to give you much input without more data ... Either way, your body retains water when processing lots of carbs so give it time to balance out. 1 kg is not much. Probably water weight.

Hi DaisyGrammy! Count me in!! I am 50 and have been here at MFP since July. log every day, and have lost 30 lbs so far. Would like to lose another 20-30. My focus has been cardio and body weight exercises after rehabbing from an auto accident about a year and a half ago but looking at adding Jaime Eason's 12 week program…

Sexist, probably, but equal opportunity. You can start your own post for over-50 men who are looking for a support group ... or if you like talking about menopause, water retention, etc. you can hang out here ... Just the fact that you are reading a topic titled Over Fifty, Female and Fun says it all bud!!

^^^ THIS is exactly what I was going to suggest. Design your weight lifting sessions so you are covering all body parts in 3-4 days per week. On the off days, add in some intense cardio sessions. Without getting too long-winded, cardio is better at helping you burn fat and weights are better at helping you build muscle…

To LOVEMYVISI: BOOOO!! This site has policies against marketing yourself and your products. PLUS I DO NOT APPRECIATE RECEIVING AN UNSOLICITED PRIVATE MESSAGES FROM YOU ATTEMPTING TO SELL YOUR SNAKE OILS!! CEASE THIS BEHAVIOR!!! I did not join this community to be bombarded by sales people disguised as ... well whatever you…

Wow Sammie, congratulations to you ... this represents a lot of hard work, dedication and passion for good health. You must be very proud. WAY TO GO!!! You look fabulous!!!

THIS ^^^^ And THIS ^^^ In my humble opinion, when you kick your BF out of his home, you get what you get and have no right to ask what happened during that time apart. He left her the first time, he keeps coming back to you as soon as you cool off and invite him back. This is not the other girl's fault. This is on you.…
