  • Im kind of in the same boat. I drink those fizzy waters, diet green tea, flavored water diet soda. But Im trying to get away from the aspartame. The BEST thing Ive found is good earth original tea. It doesnt have any sweetener, yet its naturally sweet. I make it in the coffee pot ( take off the little tags attached to the…
  • Im not sure if my advice will apply to you. I allow myself "comfort foods/ sweets" but I typically make myself stay under my calorie goal by 200 cal, - it doesnt always happen, but I usually am under and if I am over its typically only by 2 or 3 calories. I usually also make myself work everything off. The food in my house…
  • Get a personal size pizza and save half for tomorrow. You can also run inside your apartment. Thats what I do, because where I live it is so hot! At least it has been.
  • Exactly. Besides he has to WANT it, you cant make him want it. You also need to practice what you preach. Btw, my fiance is 6' and 215, he is barely overweight. Even if he IS overweight, as I said before, realize he has to want it. You cant FORCE it. Setting an example, would help, esp if you make the meals.
  • Sorry glitch anyways*** I run around the living room for a half hour while they watch mickey mouse. I go on that morning walk or evening walk; run, sometimes both if I can. I watch what I eat if I know we are going out later in the week or exercise. You can do it. The key is to take action. Dont talk about it, just do it.…
  • I started on MFP exactly two months ago. I was 249, Im 5'6, 24 yrs old. I used to eat ALOT AND junk food. Alot of junk food. I am not prediabetic, but my mom is and she does not take care of it, at all. This will take self control, but more so, motivation. I entered my activity level as "sedentary" and log primarily…
  • Well, since most people do stupid **** when they are drunk... Ill tell "sober" stupid stories. 1) Got into the car with a stranger when I was 15. ( I was trail eiding and my friend said I could turn her loose in her arena, but apparently the fence had a section missing so she went running down the rd on to a freeway ( no…
  • Tonight I just made sliced sirlion tips, cooked medium, with costco frozen normandy blend veggies, one diced onion, dash salt and pepper, with 3tbsp teryaki sauce and 2.5 tbsp tonkatsu sauce, and 1 tbsp soy sauce. I pan - seared the steak in butter flavored 0 cal cooking spray, and steamed the veggies, died the meat, and…
  • Ive cooked all the holiday meals since I was 18. So, Im pretty used to it. This year Im revising all the recipes to make them low cal. No butter, unsweetened vanilla almond milk, instead of regular, more seasonings like fresh herbs, making things sugar free, avoiding canned items if possible. Ex. I love jellied…
  • Should you start cracking the whip? Well, that is entirely up to you. What are your weight/ exercisr goals? Do you want to get stronger, or are you happy where you are at? I started not quite two months ago. First I startwd with running in place, 10-20 min at a time- which is a huge thing when you havent run in years. Then…
  • I find I would rather eat them and keep it under my cal, than just not eat what I like. The other day, I had like 200 or so cal left, so I ate a sugar free sees candy chocolate bar. Deeelicious. Only 180 cal. I also get rainbow wheat bread 40 cal/ slice!) I eat tacos all the time with guerro small corn tortillas (100 cal…
  • Maybe the foods you are eating are not enough to sustain you. I started July 6th at 249 lbs. I marked sedentary for my daily activity level. ( when I really not sedentary, but I do add my exercise and occasionally cleaning, which I always count as "light" even if it vigorous. But anyway at first it calculated intake as…
  • My grandfathers German shepard jessie, and my pit Max, DO NOT get along. We keep them separate but sometimes grandpa will forget or the kids will let them in together. Max will usually jupst turn the other way, go into thee other room, but if I cant get to jessie in time, jess will follow max, max will snap to say get away…
  • Well said! I dont make separate meals unless Im wayyy over my cal, or only have 200 left. But I usually always include a meat, green veggie, and a starch or salad.
  • That is ridiculous. The same thing has happened to me when I tell people ( just in conversation) that I usually dont eat breakfast. They say " Its really bad skipping breakfast, you putvon more weight that way" Which makes me want to slap them. I just say " well for me it just adds extra calories if Im not planning on…
  • Amazing job! That is fabulous. What a HUGE success! I hope you are proud because thats amazing!
  • I dont ban anything... I just buy a sugar free/ low cal version that I can have. Or find a way to make it low cal. It usually doesnt even taste different. For example, if I want a milk shake, bryers sugar free vanilla ice cream ( 80 cal 1/2 cup) and unsweetened blue diamond almond milk. I can add sugar free low cal choc…
  • Sorry if I didnt make it clear. Im not trying to lose weight in those areas Im trying to tone them. My abs mostly, since you cant exactly tone love handles LMAO.
  • I completly understand! Be aware of what you put in your warm dishes, and if you go out keep your portions small. Eat one or two cookies instead of 5. Stay under your cal deficit. And do exercise inside. I exercise inside a lot. Even if all you do is walk around the living room for an hour. I love potato dishes in winter.…
  • I strongly disagree with staying away. This isnt a "diet" its a life style. Are you never going to eat chinese food again? Dont stay away. Eat in moderation. If you DO go over a few hundred cal, exercise.
  • Mongolian beef, chop suey, kung pao chicken ( or any meat), cashew chicken, broccoli beef, szechuwan pepper chicken, chicken & green beans, shrimp and vegatables, beef in oyster sauce, beef w black mushroom sauce, curry chicken. If you want rice, you can get a single serving of brown or white rice. If you get a dinner…
  • I LOVE sushi. My fav is unagi ( eel) As long as theres eel, Im so happy. I NEVER used to like tuna, UNTIL I discover Kai Lana omg. They do a lunch special with a soup salad, rice, roll of your choice ( two) and 5 peices of sashmi. So good. Its salmon, himachi, tuna, and two other peices cant remember what but it was…

  • I have the "boob problem" too, typically when I run. I also have that problem with shorts, unless I buy unflattering man shorts, I cant wear shorts. It feels like my cheeks will just pop out LOL.And as far as running goes, I usually wear tank tops in summer when I run ( super hot out here) and as I run, I seriously feel…
  • If you have to use mayo, try trader joes low fat mayo 35 cal/ tbsp. You can also use daisy light sour cream ( 40 cal/ 2 tbsp) or lucerne low fat plain yogurt ( 130 cal/ 8oz.) Mustard is great! I also add pickles pickle juice to mine, but you have to be careful.
  • Run a 14 min mile and run 30 min straight :D
  • Its true! Lol. I used to have to buy jeans that were at least a size or two, too big just to fit that junk. But then my jeans would totally sag in front ( showing my underwear, if I didbt wear a belt.) Huuuge frustration. But now Im fat and my belly caught up! LOL its shrinking though. I can honestly say, I dont think I…
