Thank you! Now, meaning it will not log while I'm on the elliptical? So I guess I should log elliptial separately? Did I read that right?

Thank you for all of the responses. I will definitely reference back here periodically. I am living off of soup right now, but once my check comes next Friday, I think I will try to tackle the ETL program. There just seem to be too many benefits to pass up on!

5' 4" and 160 pounds. I want to get down to 130. So sick of this excess weight!

I will totally follow this! My name is Elisabeth. I am 21 years old, 5' 3" and am about 160 pounds. I have always been overweight for most of my life, though never full-blown obese. I want to change that and have flat abs! I love Pilates, but am trying to do more than that because I need something more to boost my…

Hmm. Thank you! I will definitely check that website out. Thanks to everyone! I guess I will have to try it and go slow. It is mainly the lunges and squats that hurt me last time, I think.

Thank you both. I will have to see an ortho doctor soon, I guess. Can't really afford it at the moment. Bleh. I definitely try out those exercises!
-
Thank you SO much! I have a lot more hope now that I can afford it. Okay, sorry for so many questions, but I have another on... I am on the go a lot, and only have an insulated lunch bag, which keeps food preserved for a few hours. Anyone have any ideas for grab-and-go foods (preferably ones that do not need to be…

Yeah, that sounds like me. I mean, I am not vegan, but I can't do moderation, and I hate counting calories. Next question... Is it possible to follow ETL on a budget?
-
Yeah, I just found out my body fat percentage is at 34.5%! I almost cried. But I am slowly starting to eat more veggies, as well as paying close attention to my protein and fiber intake. Did you ever include animal products in your diet? The good ones, of course.

Thank you for your answer! What was your starting weight before you last had that initial weight loss?

Any yoga videos anyone knows off the top of their head that are knee-friendly? Thank you so much to everyone who has given advice. I guess I will give cycling a shot. I used to use the elliptical, but sometimes that would put strain on my chest. I'll also go with walking again.

Thank you to everyone who replied. That "I can always have it tomorrow" strategy sounds like it may work for me. Even if the cravings don't go away, does saying "no" get easier the more you do it? Does that sense of self discipline strengthen the more you say no? I've always struggled with self discipline in other areas of…

I have found that Pilates is a godsend for strengthening the core.

I'm thinking about starting it again. This time, I swear I am going to complete it!

I am starting Blogilates by Cassey Ho. Okay, so I have only done one day, but she has free fitness calendars that change each month on her website. Along with that, she has a beginner's calendar that tells you what you need to do each day for a month. There are also plenty of recipes. All of this for free!

I started out doing those videos years back. I do agree that those alone are probably not good enough to get you full-blown results (depending on much weight you need to lose), but they are a great start! Plus, as a lover of Pilates, I can say those are a great introduction.

Great, thank you! One more: I bought her book, but honestly it doesn't look *that* much better than her website. Her website pretty much has everything you need and then some, right? I'm thinking about returning the book, honestly.

Sorry for the delay. I have been lazy in logging into MFP. Bad, I know. I don't know where to begin. Firstly, thank you SO much for the detailed reply! Unfortunately, I am your height but at 160 pounds. Do you think doing at least four days a week of 45 minutes of the elliptical could help with this? I know it is a lot, so…

Just searched "Blogilates" and found this thread. Cool! As someone who has always wanted to really get into Pilates, I think this could be an excellent program for me. I have only done one day of it so far, but I like the layouts. I'm sorry that I don't have long-term experience with them, but they at least look promising.…

Thank you, everyone! I guess I will try to keep my caloric intake at 1500 while slowly working up to doing full lunges. I hope it works. So a JM DVD such as 30 Day Shred or NMTZ should be okay as long as I focus on my form, moving slowly at first?

I don't have access to a pool right now, but I do have an exercise bike in the fitness center where I live. I will give it a shot. Has anyone found the elliptical or bike to be more effective?

Okay, thanks for the advice everyone. Could Pilates in addition to strength training be a good idea? How about the Exhale Core Fusion videos? Those are a mixture of strength and barre.

Thank you everyone! On a side note, has anyone experienced knee pain with NMTZ?

I'm in a similar spot. If anyone has useful help for this dilemma, do let us know.

Damn! I need to start weight training more! And not much cardio? Nice.

Okay, I guess I will have to try SC and see what happens! Thank you to everyone for your replies!

I mean, I already have a pretty shapely lower body, which I am for the most part happy with. A nice lower body runs in my family, so I have some curves. Also, I have a bit of a muffin top with a pretty noticeable curve inward into my lower waist, but not as much of a curve from my chest downward. Still, I have also always…

Thank you for your detailed response! I think I will try to cut it and just force myself to eat more fruits and veggies. Thank you to everyone else for sharing as well!

No, I am not restrictive at all. I have gained back 20+ pounds in a few years (gaining and losing 10 pounds off and on) by constantly eating a lot of sugar. I don't crave fried foods as much, or drink much soda at all, but I eat a lot of sugar, causing me to float between 150-160 at being a 5' 4" woman.
