Good for you, Elizabeth! They're addictive, aren't they? I did my first one 13 months ago, and now it seems I've got a race of some kind every other week.

lol I was wondering the same thing.

Strange when I'm the oldest one, at 34 lol

I'm glad I'm not the only one who was thinking this.

I sent a friend request, too... We have a lot in common. Welcome.

Do one of the couch to 5k apps. I originally ran at dusk, when I was about 240lbs, but as I met goals, I stopped caring what other people thought and was able to take pride in the action I was taking to be healthy. You can definitely do it, and it's totally worth it.

[/quote] Okay Judgy McJudgerson. You know that they can decide at a later date to lower it. I think you should worry less about others goals and more about your own. Even if they decide to stick with a goal that's still overweight or obese it's better than they used to be. By the way I am overweight for my height. I also…

5 days a week... 3 lifts, 2 swims, 2 runs, 2 rides so a lot of days are doubled up.

Welcome. There's a lot of good advice on this string... Take it easy, be honest, make it the way you live, not just the way you lose weight. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1080242-a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-sexypants

Definitely this. Behavioral goals are what helped me. I changed small things. Drinking _____ oz of water a day for the week (now at 100-120oz). Parking farther away. Taking a walk during my lunch break. I'll go to the gym ___ times per week. Once I had made those small goals into habits, things really started coming…

Weight loss tends to start very fast and then slow down. You also don't have a whole lot to go, so a healthy fat loss for you is going to go fairly slow as well (.5 lbs per week). It surprises me that your Dr. put you on phentermine with so little to lose.

I'm down to a 10/12 from a 24/26 and still dodge away from things or won't walk between cars because I expect to run into stuff. I realize that I'm down to "normal" sizes, but with the extra skin and stuff, I'm still working on the emotional component of FEELING average sized. I'm also always totally fascinated when I feel…

When you eat carbs with fiber and protein, the body breaks them down together and it takes longer, causing less glucose spikes. (simplified explanation)

Welcome :)

I am a type 2 diabetic that was on insulin, and now is almost completely off meds. Spreading out my carbs through the day, lowering them to reasonable levels, focusing on complex carbs, and pairing them with healthy proteins/fats are the dietary changes I've made. I also work out now (strength training and endurance) and…

When I first started, I just walked, a lot. Then I walked faster. Then added little bits of jogging. Now I run frequently. Every small choice that is healthier than before can help you on this journey. For the boobie bounce, try Under Armour and Moving Comfort brands, as well as Old Navy. I've heard good reviews of the…

Full time member of the Giant Turtle Running Team. 8 miles is my longest run so far, 4-6 is normal training runs, and I have plans for a half marathon this year.

Don't give up. If you've been successful thus far, you're doing it right.

My shortest workout day right now is 45 minutes, and my longest is 3.5 hours, 2 rest days. When I'm not training for an event, it's 45-90 x5 days a week.

I'm 5'6" and hovering around 190... I wear a 10/12 pants, and but XL tops still to accommodate big shoulders and boobage.

I log the meals I eat at work as soon as they're packed, and I log some of my workouts ahead of time, too. I eat a lot of my workout calories back, so knowing an estimation ahead of time helps plan my day better.

I think she counted the 400 only once, although listed as x2 a week.

Took the words out of my mouth....

When I first started doing Zumba and felt ridiculous, I reminded myself that everyone looks ridiculous the first few times and everyone improves with practice... I still have moments of "oh my, this new move looks ridiculous" but it doesn't last long, because now I know what I'm doing has been WORKING and I'd rather have…

I've run down to about 14F... It's all about layers and covering my ears and face.

An A1C is not necessarily more accurate for everybody. My doctor ONLY did A1C tests, and because of that I went improperly diagnosed for 4 years... It turned out that I was having huge peaks and valleys... Really high (fastings sometimes into the 200s), and then really low at other times. Both tools need to be used as…
