  • So exciting for those that can have others share the baby movements! I just started feeling little movements that I know are not gas. Good to know about the belly band and glad that helps. Has anyone tried the belly bandit or similar product? Glucose testing...eck. Haven't had to do that yet...so looking forward to…
  • Very true. Thanks!
  • 5 lb gain this week. My belly has really jumped out. I look like I should be at term already. Other friends around the same due date are just barely showing. Oh well, it is what it is. Looking like the largest person not having twins.
  • 1w: 184.3 19w: 192.2 (+8 lbs) 5 lb jump this week! Hoping it's water, but my belly really has grown this week.
  • Cute story Kristen. I love the over-reaction, but yes, it does begin! My son is only 2 so the concept of a baby in my belly/big brother has been completely lost on him. Shoot he'd probably kick the doctor too! :)
  • 1w: 184.3 18w: 187.4
  • I gained (ah-hem..)65 lbs the first go around and lost 30 of it by the first week. Then it took another year for the rest of it to come off. Although still heavy, proud to say that I eventually lost that + 15 for a total of 80lb gone a year or so after the peak of pregnancy. This go around, I am watching what I eat a lot…
  • Hmmmm..."w" names, I liked Walter, but then I'm biased having 3 generations of them in our family. Can't name ours Walter though, have to leave that for my brother if and when he ever has kids (he is the III afterall lol). After yesterday's ultrasound (and the one before), I'm pretty convinced we're having a boy. We can't…
  • The undies they provide at the hospital are ugly as all get out, but comfortable and you don't care if you ruin them by getting blood all over them. Other than that, wear your maternity clothes: yoga pants, tank tops, breast feeding bras. Anything you will be comfortable in. Don't do jeans...unless you were able to fit in…
  • I posted this in a different section, but thought maybe this would be more applicable (so sorry for posting it twice) but... Anybody familiar with diastasis recti exercises? For those that aren't aware, here's some info..."Pregnancy puts so much pressure on the belly that sometimes the muscles in front can’t keep their…
  • 1w: 184.3 16w: 186.3
  • Welcome Dzouan! Congrats on your first child to be. You are almost there. September will be here before you know it! There are a lot of older moms on here which is pretty neat. My doctor tagged me as high risk automatically, it's nice that yours didn't. On another topic (and not to scare anybody)...Anybody familiar with…
  • That's interesting about the epidural. Weird that they would want a waiver before hand, but then again, there is a waiver to get your tubes tied too. I asked about getting my tubes tied during the C-section and he said that that it literally takes less than a second. The waiver has to be completed few months before the…
  • 1w: 184.3 15w: 186.2 Up almost 2 lbs. Not too shabby.
  • I'm 35, 5'7", I don't exercise except maybe a walk around the block with the kiddo after dinner and have a sedentary job. I eat 2300 calories and haven't gained any weight yet at 14 weeks.
  • 1w: 184.3 14w: 185.0 A little jump in the weight this week. Lots of social gatherings, must control myself when nibbles are accessible!
  • Summer - Are you effing kidding me? I just took that same test on Wednesday and it better not cost $1000! I have pretty good insurance too, but damn! I guess we'll find out when the bill comes in. Ladyjaye - I found out the gender of this baby at 13 weeks. My last doctor made me wait until 20w to tell the gender. My…
  • Shoot...I wish I could make that a goal Summer, unfortunately, I weighed more than my husband before pregnancy! I almost caught up with him, I was only 10 lbs away... oh well we shall try again next year. LOL. We are basically the same height though. He has me by an inch and a half. Good luck with your oal of not exceeding…
  • Thought I'd join you ladies and use this as a place for accountability and to keep track of weight gain. I guess technically I haven't gained anything, but if I don't count week 1 then I've gained .4 lbs. Not too shabby since I don't really exercise, but I do try to watch the calorie intake. This time with the first kid…
  • Yup. It is nerve racking waiting for the prenatal blood work results. I have to do mine on Wednesday and I just want to get it over with already!
  • I tend to show early. Probably started to show around 8 weeks. Now at 12, people are asking my co-workers. And that's with baggy clothing. Anything clingy and they would definitely know. Although...to be truly honest, I still looked prego from my first child 2 years ago. The baby bump never went away even though I'm 15lbs…
  • Summer - That sounds awful! I'm sorry to hear about your pain. Sarieth - Congrats on your first visit. Tiredness is always an issue. But soon the libido will return. I know, I know sex during pregnancy is different, but hey you do what you gotta do! :)
  • mmmm....starburst jelly beans. Those are so good! Thankfully, my 2 year old is still a little young to be bringing home the goodies. Good luck ladies keeping it on track.
  • So I went to the doc today, and you are correct Helen - you can do the VBAC after C-section. I went to a new doctor and he said there was some risk, but not a lot. My last doctor either lied to me or that was his personal policy. I will probably do a C-Section again though. On a different note, I found out I was 4 more…
  • I had a C-Section (not by choice of course) but didn't think it was too bad. I don't have a labor story to tell people because you kinda skip that part. Helen - if you don't need a C-section, don't get a C-section. It's more expensive and the recovery is longer. If it can't be helped, then there is nothing wrong with it.…
  • Glad to have you added to the friend's list Suzanne.
  • Late to the club but expecting in the Fall - Nov 13th-ish. 2nd child (son is turning 2 this month), but now qualify as an advanced mother as well. Just turned 35 last month. Looking forward to hopefully NOT gaining 65 lbs like last time. I WILL eat within my calorie limits! All little boys love their trains don't they?
  • Yes, I would do it again. I liked brittishbroccoli's suggestions - always good to learn from past experience. As far as qualifier rounds for 2 weeks...sounds complicated and unnecessary. The rest of your suggestions sound good! Thanks for taking this on, it has been a lot of fun and I was able to make new friends.
