I started it at 290. I am now down to 267 & just completed week 4. I would suggest trying it, but not be afraid to stop if you need to. Just take it at your own pace!

Did week 4 day 1 of C25K. It was hard..so very hard. I made it through the first 3 min run interval & I actually made it through the 5 min run. I start week 4 today. I am so intimidated by the amount of running involved in this week. I was struggling during the 3 min intervals last week. Trying to figure out how I'm gonna make it through the 5 min ones this week... I have a feeling I will be doing some extra hard praying this week!!! Lol!!

Thanks for all the replies!! Currently I am just doing C25K 3 days a week and the eliptical 3 days a week. But starting next week I will be doing strength training 3 days a week instead of the eliptical because I joined a 6 week boot camp class. Might up my protein a bit then! I wish I had a suggestion for you as far as shoes go! I'm currently wearing year old sketchers myself! Lol!! Try finding a store near you that specializes in running gear & shoes! They can examine your gait and tell you which shoes are best for you!

The pain is temporary! Its just muscles protesting because they aren't used to being used in such a way! If the pain gets worse though you may need to look into a new pair of running shoes!

This time last year, I started running without c25k. I couldn't run more than 30 seconds at a time. And that was really more of a slow jog then a run. I was about 275 lbs.
