Michigan? Really? 'Cause I had to check to make sure you weren't a good ol' southern girl. That's an expression I'd expect to hear down here! One of the ones that y'all that talk with those funny accents make fun of us for!

Thank you.! The charts say that I am officially Obese for another 7 or 8 pounds. Even when I lose another 25, I'll still be smack in the middle of the Overweight category. Which may be good enough considering my age. Or I may be excited enough to continue and see what happens. I'll cross that bridge when it happens. All I…

Fantastic job! Kkep it up and keep the good habits going even after you reach your goal!

My experience may or may not be relevant, since I am a big guy and started with 100+ to lose. I have done 1200 a day for the last 4 1/2 months, with an occasional day jumping to 1400 and occasional days dropping to 1000. 90% of the time 1200 is right where I end the day. Also, that is total calories, I do not eat back…

Yes, I am close to goal #1. Then there will be another 25 or so to go after that. I wanted to do a little over 100, so I set my goal at 80. I thought that would be a good point to re-evaluate and re-strategize if necessary. Salads will be a big part of every meal (as they are now). I probably won't want to influence what…

I've been packing and getting ready for a vacation, so most of my meals lately have been soup and salad. Lot's of homemade soup in the fridge that needs to be gone before I leave. In fact, I have been trying to let the groceries run out also. I really don't want to come home to a bunch of things to throw out. Does any one…

That's funny. I, too, love cheese, but since Feb 9 (my start day) I have had a total of about 1 cup of shredded non-fat cheese and I have had nothing to drink except water and iced tea with sweet'n'low. I was weaned on Mountain Dew, so those first few weeks were hard but now I am not even tempted to drink anything but…

This looks just like something that I would make for a quick lunch (I am lucky enough to come home from work every day for lunch). These days, I would probably leave out the noodles to cut calories and add mushrooms and some sort of hot pepper, depending on what was in the fridge. Gotta love the multicolored bell…

Have you been able to post from that same folder before? Sometimes photobucket folders need to be named without spaces in the name for it to work. For example, your folder is named "before and after". If it was "beforeandafter" it might work. I had a similar problem and had to rename my folder from My Fitness Pal to MFP,…

Really nice, Crystal! That looks great and doesn't at all look like "diet food." I think I'll steal this one.

No calorie counting, but a fantastic free one for tracking everything else, including map tracks, is Google Tracks. It will also upload all the stats to an excel file in Google Docs. I use it daily on my X.

Try them. You may like them. And you will only be wasting a couple of bucks and a little time if you don't. You may not like them, but at least you will have explored something new. I think you are correct about the motivation. I have learned over the last couple of months that it's a better mindset to lose weight by…

You cannot measure a cup with a scale. A scale is used to measure weight. A cup is used to measure volume. Just as you would not weigh a teaspoon of something, you would not weigh a cup. Just get a decent measuring cup or two and you will be set. They can be had for as cheap as a dollar or two.

One of these peppers was really supposed to be a leftover for tomorrow. I was pretty hungry, so it didn't survive to see another day.

I am really enjoying logging on here every day and seeing the new pictures. Y'all are really eating some nice food! When I started this thread, I was just hoping for a few new ideas to shake me out of a rut of the same old, same old and I have definitely gotten lots of those! The response has been way more than I expected.…

This looks fantastic! Are the baby corn served cold like the salad or are they warm?

Nice. I am a BIG soup fan. I make a homemade soup about once a week and portion it into containers to microwave throughout the week. This one looks REALLY good!
-
These two are very similar, but I had some things to use up...

Those patties are something that I never would have thought of to do. I'll be giving them a try!

I disagree, Smiles. This looks pretty good to me. I am doing some meal planning now for a lake vacation that's coming up in a couple weeks. This dish may be one that the kids would enjoy making.

I don't think it's disrespectful at all. That is one of the points of this thread. To show some alternatives to people. Being able to see something that looks interesting to you and give you one more option. Honestly, not everything here looks appealing to me. But a lot of it does and I will be stealing those ideas and…

yeah...that couscous is so going to be on my dinner table one of these days...:glasses:

Yeah, but you made it a light alternative and it looks delicious. Being able to have something that seems like a treat but still doesn't blow a days worth of calories is great. And there are so many things to add that would personalize it without adding more than a few calories. Diced onions, jalapenos, peppers, tomatoes,…

See, this raises a good point. While, yes, I am comfortable in my kitchen (probably why I found the need for MFP), these meals aren't complicated nor do they require top notch cooking skills. These are pretty much 15 minute throw together meals that only require basic skills. I guess what I am learning is that if I am…

I always take the most complicated route! I will always seem to try to diagnose BEFORE I check if something is actually plugged in. Just the odd way my brain works. Actually, I typically work with these programs pretty often, so it's just the way my brain flows. It sounds like a lot, but I can post 5 or 6 meals in…
