I used to be a big Pepsi Max drinker myself. My experience was that cutting out all carbonated drinks really helped my weight loss in indirect ways. As I discovered, the bloating sensation was making my hunger pangs much worse and more frequent. Sticking to still water and other non-carbonated drinks meant that my desire…

I hate a lot of plus-sized sporting clothes. It seems that most manufacturers just scale-up the regular sizes as though all people are proportionally identical. The problem is that I'm not proportionally the same as a thin/athletic guy, so all those XXL shorts and vests are going to be impossibly tight in some places, and…

Graze boxes are very handy for getting some food variety easily. I've recently re-started my subscription (here in the UK), and I haven't been disappointed. Not sure what the range is like in the US version though.

Do you mind if I ask why you were advised to eliminate gluten? Have you had a reaction to it?

I remember it! Loved it. Reminded me a lot of a much older game called Archimedean Dynasty. That was set under water in subs, but the mechanic (and even the plot) were along similar lines.

I did Atkins for a while about 12 years ago. I lost some weight, but wasn't able to sustain the life-long low carb thing, so I gained it all back (plus a lot more... although that's my own fault). My first time on the cross trainer was exactly the same, and that was even after going through induction! I felt like I could barely stand up straight. I very quickly got used to it though, and for a while was regularly on there for an hour at a time without any ill effects. It's totally worth it to push through. :) I know…

I live just outside Hull at the moment, but am a Scot originally. :)

Howdy, fellow geeks! :) I'm a newbie here, and this thread seemed like a good place to pop-by. I'm a total computer geek, working as a Software Engineer by day, and writing up my PhD thesis by night/weekend. I'm really into the usual sci-fi/fantasy stuff, and am a moderately hardcore gamer too (computer and board…
