1. A 'cup' refers to a measuring cup, which is either 250ml or around 240ml, depending where you live 2. Cup measurements should only be used for thin liquids like milk or juice, and can become very inaccurate for solids like rice, cereal, chopped fruit etc. The most accurate way to measure rice would be to use a food…

Are you eating enough calories? Maybe your goal is too aggressive. Are you feeling hungry, or just wanting to eat for the sake of it? Honestly, the best way to beat cravings is just practice. Literally practicing self control. I found that after a week or so of suffering through cravings but not giving in the cravings…

Please stop spreading this myth. 'Starvation mode' just doesn't work like that. It is something that happens when your body is literally starving, as in there is no stored fat left to burn for energy. Think of it like your laptop switching to battery-saving mode when there is very little power left. The power will drain a…

If you're constipated, try a fiber supplement.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exercise_bulimia I love exercise, and often do over an hour and a half of cardio per day. But that means I get to eat more! If you are eating 1200 and exercising 1000 then you're only leaving 200 calories to fuel your body, which is absolutely not enough. You mention a fear of binging- by…

I would have to walk for 12 hours a day to burn that much.

I haven't taken Pristiq but I remember when I started on Lexapro I was super drowsy and nauseous for a week or so. Did your doc discuss possible side effects and how long the meds might take to even out? I remember I started to feel 'normal' again after a few weeks, I know that's common with SSRIs but not sure about SNRIs…

How long have you been on MFP logging 1500 calories? If it's just been a couple of weeks, and before that you were trying a bunch of 'different eating plans' but not weighing every single thing, you may have been eating more than you thought and were fact eating at maintenance. But if you've only just started weighing and…
-
Your 'real' weight fluctuates constantly, even when you are maintaining, according to how much food/fluid is in your system, water retention, etc. You weigh more at night because of the food you ate during the day that hasn't left your system yet. If you must weigh yourself a lot you need to get used to this, however if…

Where's the food?? :/

The paper won't judge you, and nobody else needs to see it. YOU know you lost weight this week! ;)

That sounds pretty high. I estimate about 150 calories for 10000 steps, but since they say that anything up to 5000 is 'sedentary' I only log steps that go above that (e.g if I do 12000 steps I'll log 7000).

Whatever you want. You have a few choices here: 1. Eat whatever, don't worry about logging, and accept that you may gain it may take a bit longer to reach your goal. 2. Don't log, but try to practice moderation (make lower-calorie choices, eat mindfully) and try to get in some activity where possible. 3. Set your calories…

It's not impossible, it's just hard, especially when starting out. You'll get the hang of it, but you have to commit and keep practicing!

I feel like I need to know how the date went now :#

1) 1000 is definitely too few calories, however this would not account for slowed down weight loss. It is more likely that there have been errors in logging and she is eating more than she thinks (not enough to stop losing but enough for it to be slower than expected) 2) You can't gain considerable muscle on a deficit,…

You need to break a habit, and it takes practice. I'm a snacker too, but when I really committed to the program I found that after a week or so I had gotten used to not constantly having something to put in my mouth. I tried the gum thing, but honestly I found that it made me want to snack more and didn't help me break the…

If I can't walk to my gym in less than 10 minutes, I don't go. Learned that the hard way!

I'd normally say 3-4 weeks, but yeah, for a woman with hormonal fluctuations who then maybe started a new exercise program it could well be a bit longer in some cases. I would say that if it has been more than 3 weeks, I'd start to investigate but less than that I'd usually say just make sure your logging is accurate and…

'Measuring' or weighing? ETA: half a pound per week isn't bad!

I found some good info here: nemechekconsultativemedicine.com/?page_id=1289 'We often confuse dyspepsia with hunger because you may feel shaky, slightly nauseated or weak and eating food makes the symptoms disappear. They go away because food stimulates the stomach to empty. The food therefore causes the excess acid to be…

I make room through exercise. Sometimes I 'bank' my exercise calories throughout the week for drinkin' ;) Tried the 'starving myself' thing, I usually find that after a night of drinking I end up stuffing my face with carbs when I get home!
