If you struggle to eat more, maybe ditch the cardio for a while. Add in more foods that are high calorie but low volume e.g. olive oil, peanut butter, full fat dairy.

I read it that way too, because you used the singular 'woman' rather than the plural 'women'. I'm not usually one to nitpick grammar on the internet, but you did ask! :)

Thermos full of soup. Sneak-eating :D

Why not share your tips and advice here on the forums so that we can all benefit?

1000 calories burned in 45 minutes? Nah. I'm quite fit and can keep up a high heart rate for extended periods of time, and I burn about 300 cals for 40 minutes of cycling. Can you open your diary? It might help us pinpoint what's going on.

Did you have a question?

Weigh and log each ingredient and put it in the recipe builder. That way you can save if for when you make it again. If you want to be really accurate with your servings, add up the calories for the whole thing, then weigh the whole pie when it's done, then weigh your portion to figure out how many calories are in the…

You don't actually know how many calories you've been eating since you're not weighing anything, so I'd start there. Increasing calories won't reset your metabolism or anything like that, that's not how it works. Calorie counting works! You just have to do it right :)
-
Then you're probably eating more than you think. Get a food scale (you can get a digital one for $10 or $15), weigh everything for 3 weeks, then come back if you're still stuck. If you're just guessing there's no way of knowing how much you're eating. People in general tend to underestimate calories, and lots of little…

Yeah, I get that you use the app to put in the food you eat. But how do you calculate how much you actually tell the app you are eating? Again: do you use a food scale, do you use measuring cups, or do you estimate?
-
How do you determine that calorie number? Are you using a food scale, measuring with cups, or estimating portion sizes?
-
+1. I usually log what I'll be having for dinner at the start of the day, then work the rest of my cals around that. Even if I don't know what I'm having for dinner, I might quick-add 400 cals or so as a placeholder just to keep me honest :)

Why do you have your calorie goal set to 1100 calories per day?
-
Yep, the fixed version is on page 2 of this thread :)

Are you using the phone app? Mine shows net calories, so I'm not sure what you mean. Can you screenshot and post it here? On the website when you go to 'reports' you can switch views between gross and net calories.

It takes a bit longer due to the program I'm using not being that intuitive, and an issue I had where I lost the raw file of the version with the bolded text. I'm still taking on feedback, I just might not get around to making any more changes until the end of the week. I was changing and exporting it each time someone…

I think I'm happy with the version I have for the time being. I've already updated it 5 times haha, and I've been procrastinating getting my uni work done!
-
Haha, that was in my initial version, but changed it after getting some other feedback... can't even remember why at this point. Anyway, I feel that since this is to be used in a forum, any additional concerns can still be addressed by people. I tried to keep it as simple as possible but it's still too wordy!

Exercise works pretty well for me :)

Haha I was wondering! Sometimes it's tricky to identify sarcasm on the internet.
-
Nah it's good to dumb it diwn It can be good to have a 'dumbed down' version as backup :) I do have to implore you though, please change the top box to 'losing' instead of 'loosing'! Drives me up the wall :P

Good advice, except a week isn't really ling enough to evaluate whether something is working. Try 3 or 4 weeks.
-
Nice!

Dude, did you actually read the whole article? "I think what’s really going on is you have a bunch of neurotic crazed female dieters, who are misreporting their food intake (especially the crazy food binges we KNOW happen in this population) and who are holding onto massive amounts of water due to the combination of low…

For a 4-day intensive, you should worry less about losing and more about fuelling your body adequately. With that many hours of dancing I'd aim for at least 2000 calories a day. Even if you overshoot and see a small gain afterwards, it won't make that much difference in the long run.
