  • My local brewery and regular hang-out is... Odd Side Ales. Here's their FB page: https://www.facebook.com/oddsideales They are consistently good brews, and the atmosphere is friendly and inviting. I have become friends with the owner / brewer and even help him out with things. (Just helped him install a few security…
  • Welcome Jenn! Always glad to see someone take the money from the big guys and give it to the little guys. Buy Local!! Cheers!!
  • I understand how you feel, but there really is no way to get around the fact that you just need to suck it up and do it. A spouse, family member or friend can help immensely... My wife, our boy and I have just begun the "Strong LIfts 5x5" and we go together which works out great (especially as the gym we are at only has a…
  • I just like being barefoot and will be that way any and all chances I get. I do everything barefoot and the only time I put those little coffins on is when small minded people force me to. I do own Vibrams FF and Merrells but only wear them when required to... (Like lifting in gym) There is nothing more gratifying than…
  • Beer good. Me like! ;-) Here's another plug for the craft beer MFP group. Come on over and join in! http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/11960-craft-beer-and-home-brewing
  • No takers? Come on. Everybody rides a bicycle at least a couple times a year don't they? ;-) It starts Wednesday. (I think you can join up whenever though... So better late then never.) Come on over and join in! Did I mention you can win stuff too! :-)
  • Bump again... It starts on Wednesday. (Although I think you can join in at any point so better late than never...) There's only 4 of us so far. Come on over and join in!
  • I hear ya Viperman... I only live about 30 miles from Founders and I can rarely ever get my hands on any KBS. It is really good and tasty stuff, but I don't like how they keep it on such a tight leash. They could make a lot more of it and let everybody get their fill of it, but I guess they enjoy keeping it scarce so the…
  • That's great riggsy81! Don't forget, once you join the challenge make sure you join the MFP team here: http://www.endomondo.com/teams/9612648
  • That's great emcm99. Just join in the group and then let the endomondo app do the work (if you have a smart phone) or you can just log your miles in on the endomondo website just like you do calories here.
  • One more bump, to try and find people that like to bike, or even just have a bike and rides occasionally. You can win prizes! The Grand prize is awesome! (A New Belgium Brewing Cruiser: http://cruizerbikes.com/New_Belgium_Cruisers.php )
  • Very cool! I'm jealous... Flying Dog has some very tasty brews. Love their crazy art work too. Have a blast! I know you will, and what a lucky little brother.
  • Eating less, moving more, and lifting heavy. (Well I just started the lifting heavy so it's not to heavy yet, but I think I'm going to like it.) Lost 52 pounds since the beginning of this year. Good luck!
  • Bump... Any Endomondo users out there? Even if you are not, this would be a good time to check it out.
  • Ok. Admin for MFP team on Endomondo has added it to the National Bike Challenge (Thanks Jim!) so anyone who uses Endomondo get over to the challenge again that's here: http://www.nationalbikechallenge.org/ Once joined into challenge you will have a choice to join team (button on right hand side) Just search for My Fitness…
  • I was thinking... Another proven way to lose weight without diet or exercise is through Chemotherapy and Radiation. Maybe he should start promoting those miracle weight loss solutions... Edit... Ooooh! I thought of another one. Tape worms! How come he doesn't push those? You can get those for free!!
  • Awesome!! Thanks ViperMan! :-D
  • Run Keeper and Endomondo are the two top ones out there. (Number of people using them) I personally like Endomondo better. But they're both good tracking apps.
  • I recommend Endomondo as well. Been using it for a while and it works great.
  • Two things... to check. 1. as others have said make sure your stats are entered in to Endomondo. (Ht, Wt, etc..) 2. I know on mine I have the auto pause setting on and if it's not getting a good satellite signal it will auto pause. If it auto pauses and doesn't resume for a long time it can really mess up the data. You…
  • A fellow MFP and I are currently in the process of doing a trade. Neither of us have ever done a trade before, so I did a little research and found a couple useful links to help anyone out that might be interested. Check em out. A blog with tips for packaging and trading beers:…
  • Looks like a great festival. Doubt I will be able to make it, but thanks for sharing!
  • SWMBO did this for me last year... She went to the best beer store around here, told them the kinds of beers I liked and asked them to put together a six pack of not distributed here, rare, or often overlooked beer. It was wonderful. Otherwise... Greenbush, FFF, Founders, Shorts, Bell's etc... Ex... Dunegras, Zombie Dust,…
  • Craft Beer! Just plan for the calories and enjoy what you like. By looking for the lowest calories and not imbibing that which you enjoy, you are defeating the whole point of having dinner and drinks with friends. Drink what you like, just don't drink a lot of it. Cheers!
  • Welcome Rob! I like some of the bigger abv beers and strong IPA's but I have also been able to find some relatively high quality session beers that have a lot less calories but still a lot of flavor. Something you won't find in the Macro offerings out there. Cheers!
  • It depends on your weight primarily, but body fat %, speed, hill, no hill, etc... will also factor in. For instance I currently am 265 pounds and when I do a 3 mile walk at 3.5+ MPH with a couple small hills I burn in the neighborhood of 500 - 600 calories. (The lower my weight goes the lower that calorie number will go) I…

  • I have to go to In-Laws for Easter meal. There's always all kinds of yummy food there, but especially the home made kielbasa. Mmmmmmmm kielbasa... I plan to keep the portions small and the trips to the food to 1 maybe 1 and a half. ;-) and then go for a long walk. (supposed to be sunny and moderate here for the first time…
  • Hey I live in Beer City, USA too! Well about 25 miles west of it. (but we in the surrounding area's all helped vote it to the top.) Grand Rapids, MI tied Asheville this year so Asheville is our sister Beer City, USA. How's it going Sis? ;-) I actually plan to make a vacation trip down there. (Hopefully within the next year…
  • The cardio isn't necessarily a bad thing, but what axialmeow said... "Don't spread it around." Please!!
