  • I was definitely taking breaks! I look forward to when I won't have to take quite so many... I was wondering that myself - I found this today: http://www.stevenscreek.com/goodies/hr.shtml. I figured it would be okay to use that as an estimate (the book says you should be around 85% or higher of your max) but I'm…
  • Hey no worries - it was hard for me too! I'm just trying to take that as a sign of how much improvement I can make over the 60 days rather than as a depressing fact for now. But that's mostly just me trying to make myself feel better for being wickedly out of shape today by focusing on how in-shape I'll be in 60 days!…
  • Okay - WOW! That was AWESOME. I loved it even though it was definitely... well, insane. (I have to say - around the time I really started struggling, I appreciated seeing the people on the video struggle too - choreographed or not!!) I love the stretching - I didn't realize that would be a focus too and as a former dancer,…
  • There was a blog post up one day about it - one MFPer wrote down the prediction one day and then tried to consistently stay like that same day calorie and exercise wise. They said it was spot-on.
  • Okay I'll share mine too - to be honest, I'm excited about next time already - to see how much we improve!! switch kicks = 45 (2fers, 90 singles) power jacks = 30 power knees = 50 (I also did 50 then on the opposite side - it felt weird to only do it one direction) power jumps = 5 (yikes!) globe jumps = 4 suicide jumps =…
  • Well I got through it but I just feel like my results could have been better you know? But I went ahead and wrote down all of my results and I'm just hoping that tomorrow with a better idea of what to eat (I'm going to use one of their recommendations too!) and a better idea of what I'll be doing I'll have more success.…
  • You look fantastic - thank you for sharing your success!! The progression is incredible!!
  • Okay lesson #1 from day #1 from just the darn fit test - I need to eat more for breakfast, earlier before I work out. What was working for the running is NOT going to be enough for Insanity. I knew the eating would be a trial and error at first. Well, today was an error. :)
  • Unfortunately for us BB users - the most recent post regarding any apps other than what is already available (iPhone) was that they are working on it but they're not available yet. I'm with you - I wish it was. It's a PAIN to add via the browser but for now, its the only option we've got!
  • Congratulations - that's so exciting! Good luck with your weigh-in this week!!
  • Thanks for the info! I have seen that thread and I don't know about anyone else but for me it was difficult to jump in when it's been going on so long and most of the people there have been doing Insanity for a while. Not having even started - I had no idea what most of the posts were even about! I definitely intend to use…
  • Excellent - the more the merrier! The lack of equipment is what drew me to Insanity as well - I want things to be difficult but not complicated!
  • Thanks everyone! I really appreciate the support - it's been tough and I'm not done yet but I love that MFP gives a way to share the little successes that all add up for all of us! Here's too our future ones!! :)
  • Fantastic! I was going to start today and then realized it said Monday and I figure if I get too far off the calendar I'll wind up confusing myself (since I'll be doing the workouts early in the AM that wouldn't be hard to do!). I'm glad to have the company - I'm excited to see what we accomplish; I've seen all sorts of…
  • 6426 + 13 = 6439!!
  • Those are definitely the three big things to me - LOTS of water (I recommend you carry a bottle with you constantly), count your calories religiously - measure everything to be sure, when in doubt guess high, and exercise. Any little thing you can do counts - as long as you increase your activity from what it was before!…
  • Just remember what MFP is all about - HEALTHY changes. Please try to focus on what is truly important - it is NOT the pounds. It is your health. Purging, laxatives - these aren't healthy ways of achieving your goals. Even if you did manage to lose the weight this way, it would never stay gone. Weight loss is the hardest…
  • Clothes is definitely one (at my next 10 pound marker I told myself I would buy a new bathing suit) - and pedicures. But I still reward myself with food sometimes - just differently than I used to! I'll reward myself with one of my favorite healthy meals that just takes a long time/lots of ingredients so I normally don't…
  • You look fantastic! Good job!
  • I know salads get old but I am a HUGE fan of salads now. Use romaine or green lettuce (I steer clear of iceberg since it's essentially tasteless), add in mushrooms, shredded carrots, tomatoes, avocado (just a 1/4 of one) and I also add Craisins, Feta cheese and a fat free dressing. You can make the salad in advance and I…
  • I use a BabyComp fertility monitor and love it - no pills, no side effects. You just take your temperature once a day with the BabyComp and it'll give you either a green light (for go!) or a red light (for only if you wanna be some baby's mama!). If used every day as directed it has been proven to have the same prevention…
  • Count me in! I think that's a great goal!
  • That is phenomenal - keep it up!
  • I'm sure you've already tried this but redirection works best for me - either keep water handy to drink when you feel tempted to snack or even Crystal Light (the 5 cal per serving kind) if you need something with a taste. Also try keeping snacks handy that are low in calories - I try to keep fresh fruit or veggies already…
  • I don't know why but I've never mastered the fork-dip. Instead, I put my salad in a ziploc bag with a small amount of dressing (usually 1 serving or 1/2 of 1 serving) and then shake the bag like a crazy person. Then there's a small amount of dressing in every bite but the overall amount is completely controlled.
  • The way I think about it is down to the basic calorie equation - more out/less in = weight loss. If you think about it, you will never be able to negatively impact the calorie equation by exercising. You can't ADD calories by exercising. BUT you can easily negate an entire weeks worth of workouts with one piece of…
  • I have never smoked either so I know I can't understand but I just keep looking at the pounds lost on your ticker and all I can say is this - if you can manage to do THAT, then you can manage to do THIS. Just keep your focus on your end goal - a healthy body - and every time you want a cigarette, remind yourself of WHY you…
  • The pizzas! I love Lean Cuisine pizzas...
  • Good luck with it! I know that you will feel AWESOME when you achieve it!
  • Congratulations!! I'm almost to my first goal and I'm going to use your success as my inspiration!!
