Wow, this makes it clear as mud. So if I substract the 500 from my TDEE I am left with 2070. So if I eat this daily along with regular exercise I will lose weight?

I went a long time plateauing on the scale but ended up losing inches. Sometimes the scale doesn't show the whole truth.

A lot of people will log there exercise calories by adding the exercise on MFP. It is just an estimate, not a true reading of what they burned and a lot of time it is grossly over the actual burn.

It took 3 rounds of blood work, 2 doctors and me checking off on my blood requistition form T3, T4, TSH to get diagonoised for underactive thyroid - hypothyroid. There are normal ranges but you could be on the line of the high or low range and they will tell you that you are fine. I was on that line and I wasn't fine. I…

Have you had your thyroid checked? Shakey hands? Hair loss? those are other symptoms of an under active thryoid. I have been on meds for 15 years and they make a world of difference.

I started on August 16th adding weight lifting at home in my already walking/running schedule. I do it 3 days a week, about 40-45 minutes a session. My profile picture is the before and after of that endeavor. Keeps me motivated to keep going.

I have had a fit bit since January. It syncs with MFP and my exercise calories are put in. I commonly some or all those calories depending on how active of a day I have. I have succesfully lost weight since then. You can only get a true accurate calories burn from a heart rate monitor I do believe.

I do my leg workout on the off running day. Upper body running day, lower body next day. Gives your legs a chance to rest some.

Also replying to keep this recipe on hand. Sounds great for fall and winter.

Sorry to sound mean but it is an excuse. I work 7:30 to 4:00 everyday. I have 2 kids under 5. I still manage to get in 10km, 12,000 minimum a day. Most jobs give you breaks and a lunch. In my eyes, no one "needs" 30 mins to eat lunch. I take 10, and walk or run the other 20. I actually come into work earlier so I can take…

Hypothroid is not an enemy, neither will is necessarily make things harder. If you are getting proper treatment hard work and dedication you will make it to your goals. I have had hypothroidism for 16 years and never have once used it as an excuse of why I was over weight or couldn't lose weight.

You need to go get a cheap cooling rack at the dollar store and cook on that over the fire as well. With camping I just pack the foods I eat at home but get them ready ahead of time. Marinate meat, cut up veggies. I camp all summer long, 3-8 nights at a time and find it is possible, you just need to plan. I never…

Feel free to add me. I am also a runner (training for my first full marathon) and have 2 kids, 3 1/2 & 5.

I definitley know that the eating is out of boredom. It's like I can't just sit and not being putting my hand to my mouth. I am going to start going for a walk or run after the kids go to bed and keep my hands busy with folding laundry.

Running sneakers should be replaced every 6 months or 500 miles. Which ever comes first. I usually replace mine after training for a 1/2 marathon and then running which logs just about 600km's during training. As suggested go to a running store and get fitted with the correct sneakers which will end up being a bigger size…

Wine spritzer cuts the calories. Also vodka, gin, tequila are usually lower in calories. And be accountability, try not to over fill your glass. I now actually measure out a 5 ounce glass of wine when I drink it. To easy to eyeball it and probably adding another 100 calories.

Be prepared that medication may not fix it completely. I was diasgonised 12 years ago at the age of 23 after a similar journey. Clean eater, avid gym goer and gained 20 pounds in 4 months. To this day even with a 90% clean diet and training for a marathon I have a very hard time losing weight.
-
So if it isn't impacting my results then embrace it and plan for it. That I can do. I don't usually even sit down till 9:00 pm because there is always something to do. Thanks for all the input!

I have always had problems losing weight and sticking with it. On January 5th of this year my hubby bought me a fit bit one for my birthday and it has changed me completely. I am down 17 pounds since then and maintaining. I am motivated to keep moving all day as I work a desk job. Can't let a day go by and not log 10,000…

Thank you for your responses. I should have also added that during this time I am okay with that losing weight but to be able to maintain my weight as it is. Cheers!

I got a fit bit one on January 5th. I have lost 22 pounds since then tracking my food on MFP and making darn sure I get my 10,000 steps in a day. And I don't deprive myself of treats. I will have the occasional sweet or salty snack and wine. If anything the fit bit will get you moving when you actually see how little you…

I am also 5'6 and have about 30 to lose. I started January 5th, 2014 and have already lost 13 pounds by using myfitnesspal and my fitbit. If you really want it, you can do it!
