Depends on the brand. Pretty sure Simply Orange is just the juice from oranges. I don't drink my calories (only water) but the occasional glass (e.g. once a week) is not bad at all.

All you need is cumin and various peppers. Take the amount in the mix, subtract out the sodium and use that amount of cumin and various peppers. Add Kosher salt TT.

I think your new goal sounds good. I agree that unless you have a LOT to stick to 500 or less for a deficit. I have 100lbs to lose, and I like the 500 cal/day plan. But I'm a patient man. Many people expect to lose 10 yrs worth of weight gain in 2 months.

Does it give you energy in kiloJules (kJ)? If so use an online calculator to do the conversion. @rlinson, 9:1 for fat and 4:1 for the other 2. Just saved yourself a calorie! ;-)

Any shock to your system tends to spike metabolism and/or affect water retention, which is why most diets are aimed at losing lbs fast instead of keeping the lbs off long term. If you're consistently losing .5/lb a week or more I wouldn't mess with it, but yes a big meal every once in a while isn't necessarily a bad thing.

As bebhinn said, it depends what kind of fat for sure there are some that are better than others despite all being the same number of calories. Also are you sure your numbers are set right? I (and other knowledgeable people around here) tend to believe MFP's protein percentage is on the low side.
