Welcome to MFP! This is a great community.

Someone already did ;-) But they didn't come right out and call it that. StarryEyedGirl, thanks so much for the support! Choose2BeFit, thank you too. :-) (Also, I didn't even populate the response with my personal feelings on the options, but you make a common point about the artificial sweeteners  )
-
Melissa, whatever ratio of carbs:protein:fat you decide on you should stick with regardless of how many cals in a day you eat. And here's one back at you! :flowerforyou:
-
It depends on what they are replacing the sugar with. Your options are: 1) artificial sweeteners 2) more fat 3) more sodium 4) some combination of the above Find out which one and decide if you would rather have that instead of the sugar.

someone just posted a HG alternative maybe 2 or 3 days ago. look on the board.
-
Absolutely take a day or two off per week... especially if you're doing strength training! If you do some very low intensity yoga (stretching and meditation, but not core building or anything) then you can continue that activity on your days off if you like.
-
It really doesn't have to be forever. After you reach your goal you need to continue, but do you honestly think that after 5 years of weighing everything and measuring out portions you won't be able to automate a great deal of what you eat? You are training yourself to do what you couldn't do. You don't use training wheels…

Yeah, I enjoy BL as a reality show, but they are all about the drama and the challenges. The plugs are just too much for me: Use Ziplock bags to seal in the freshness! lmao It will be nice if this new show is actually about eating healthy.

You said yourself the scale didn't move but your clothes fit better. If you're weighing monthly you're clearly more concerned with your fitness level than your weight. As you should be. The scale is just 1 of many ways to measure yourself. It's certainly not the best. It doesn't take into account your height, age, bone…
-
2300mg/day how many are you getting?
-
Besides what else has been mentioned, you're on a good start. As for the treadmill, get yourself a magnet ;-)
-
Homemade popcorn is not bad, but movie theater popcorn is, so you did make the better choice!
-
When camping, meals that can be prepared in one pot are awesome. Get yourself a dutch oven and make a hearty chili or jambalaya. If you're talking snacks, fruit and nuts are great for keeping the energy level up during hiking and similar activities!
-
I hadn't heard of it, but I want to hear from you when you get it! Keep us up-to-date with posts or blog entries about it. :-)
-
Exercise isn't to burn calories, it's to keep us in good shape. Great cardiovascular health and toned muscles are the results. Being able to eat extra calories is merely an effect of exercise. You need to eat the cals to fuel your workout.
-
I haven't weighed in since starting ~7 weeks ago. But I've only gone over my daily goal twice. My clothes are more loose and when I weigh in for the first time (a week from today), I'm not concerned about the number. Getting caught up with the number on the scale leads to 1) undue stress, and 2) thinking you don't have to…

Like Alexa and Sam said, I think it would be a good start, but like any exercise it would eventually become easy and you'd need to do more. It's like buying one dumbbell; it will certainly help get you started, but you need extra weights later. So if it gets you started go for it!
-
a glass of milk or a handful of nuts will take care of that for you :-)
-
It's not lame, it's awesome--and you're beautiful!
-
RJ, You still need the same ratios of carbs:protein:fat. When you add your exercise MFP will add the # of cals with the correct ratio of macronutrients you need.
-
The FDA is so strict on some things and so lax on others. There's really no consistency. Makes one wonder why we continue to employ them.
-
Maybe if I didn't have all the fat slowing me down I could last long enough to burn 300. lol
-
hanr, 1) Looking at your pics, I would never think "fat girl". 2) If you saw a big ol' fatty working their butt off, would you be like: HaHAA  or go: Damn, :drinker: I need to get my act in gear ? 3) People at the gym are too worried about getting a good work out or checking out the hotties to focus on anything else.

Holly, Have you thought about carrying a post-it pad and just keeping track of what you eat? Or better if you have a smart-phone! Just pull it out jot down what and how much. Also, wait 20 minutes before going back for more. It will give your stomach a chance to know it isn't hungry anymore. Good luck! :flowerforyou:

I take RX fish oil and have no fish burps. I take 4 grams daily. Ask your Dr.

If you haven't changed the MFP levels from what you were given, it's possible you need more. IMO, the default protein number is a little low. You'll find I'm not the only one with this view.
-
I agree and just wanted to point out that 50 lbs makes a HUGE difference!
-
Only protein and only 10 oz of food a day?
-
Good job girl! If you look at your cals remaining before eating, you'll think twice. :-)
-
man, is that how it's supposed to work? sweet I'm going to pass this along to my wife.
