Nuts don't require a fridge (though they'd last longer in one), I'd also add some nuts in there. I buy big bins of almonds at Costco, perfect!

We aren't burger-jointers, either, my kids never went to those places until they were 5 & 6 years old, really. So I don't think you did anything wrong, but I really don't see the issue with what the nurse did, either. Maybe I'm just not very sensitive, other people can't really make me feel bad- that's all in me, kwim?

I've never heard anyone say that! Wild. I've only heard "muscle weighs more than fat."

My lie was that i couldn't eat better. I have always worked out, so I always knew that was in me, but I just had a block on the idea that I could successfully cut back my calories at all. It's silly thinking back on it, but I really thought I would fail, so why ever try? This too- I always thought i wasn't all that bad! I…

Me too!

Sounds like you are ready to work! I just wanted to thank you for your service, and wish you luck on your journey!

Me too! I'm glad to see others do this... I always feel a little awkward getting "good work out!" posts when I haven't actually DONE the workout yet. LOL But it's so much easier. I also use it this way to decide what to eat sometimes-- if I'm at a restaraunt for instance, to decide between one dish or another, see how it…

I care. I donate $ to a few causes, regularly including a global child feeding effort, a local program that stuffs poor kids' backpacks with granola bars & such, and our local Humane Society, other donations arent regular, but just case-by-case. I understand this reason, and have a similar feeling, though: this is why I…

Wow, you're doing amazing! Good for you. Like others, I have to point out that it depends on where/how you live. I walk my kids to and from school (unless there's a blizzard or it's over 100*-- you'd have to coach me more to walk through those LOL), it is a little over a mile round-trip. That is well worth doing. But my…

I'm also a Cornhusker! Another Nebraska poster here. Like you, I love this state. Nebraska (NE) is in the center of the country, in an area people who haven't experienced enough to know what to appreciate call "flyover states." LOL I am in Omaha, which is the biggest city in Nebraska, and on the far East side of the state,…

But OP, it says it's made with REAL FRUIT... That's health food!!! I thin my biggest contributor was eating from boredom. I love cooking and baking, baking breads, cookies, etc. And, more to the point, eating those things! And washing them down with soda. Like someone else said, though, gluttony & sloth.

I'm a Pepper, too. :) I also love Coke. I'll be honest, it took me a long time to break my one-can-a-day habit, but I'm glad I have. I still have one once in a while, though. No diet soda here, doesn't appeal to me at all.

Wine, peanut butter, martinis, cheese, & Starbuck's pumpkin spice latte all Fall/Winter (though I'm getting it skim/no whip now! Minor victory!). But, I once thought I'd NEVER give up soda. Heck, I even once thought I'd NEVER give up eating whatever strikes my fancy at any given time... But I have essentially given up both…

As far as links and articles go, I guess if you're wanting my motivation, the CDC's website, the AMA's, as well as the WHO's, could be a good place to start. It's funny, my crunchier friends ALWAYS cite those organizations when encouraging people to BF (& I'm plenty crunchy, I BF my 3 kids for 1.5 years, then 3 years, now…

I am not not privy to anyone's medical records but my own (&my kids'), and yes I am up to date. I got my most recent vax after the birth of my last baby. The people I know well enough to know, are also up to date. I wish more people were up to date, but I don't really get this argument... Unless I'm embracing those people…

I'm not sure I'll answer all of your questions, but to address those that stand out to me, I think you're kind of seeing a strawman. No one said vaccinations are a 100% surety. They're not. There's a possibility that though I'm up to date on my Rubella vax, I catch Rubella, a small possibility. That's why we rely on the…

Wow, you look amazing! Great work. TFS!

I feel similarly. I'd say I have a day a week that I feel ok to go over calories, and I don't fret. I'm still losing, feeling good, and doing great I think. I would never do this (live healthier) if it meant I could never enjoy whatever entree I wanted, have a few drinks, and maybe even nibble some dessert, literally never…

Scratch my answer, I like this better! LOL

This is exactly why I'd NEVER consider not getting my healthy children vaccinated, barring an unforseen condition, like an egg allergy or other reaction. I have a cousin with 4 children who doesn't believe in vaccinations, and insists that their children will be fine, b/c if they contract something, they will probably be…

I loved kellymom, too, great info!

I'm sorry! That would get so annoying! Tbh, I don't really talk to a lot of people about my efforts. I do know people who I think would act this way, so I don't share that part of my life with them much, kwim? I don't need their support, and they aren't going to offer it anyway. I do get comment that I find pretty eye…

I'm sorry you had a bad experience. :( I'm not the world's greatest speller, and I just can't imagine CARING a whole lot about that, kwim? LOL But, if you look at it this way: I have to admit, I have a really hard time reading posts where people don't use basic puncuation, capitalization, spacing and paragraphing. I…

I don't like it, just on a spoon, either, but it shines as a sour cream replacement. I use a lot of it that way- even in cooking. I agree with the other posters, though, it's not like you have to eat it to lose weight or be healthy.... If you don't like it, don't eat it.

I would find that eye-roll worthy, but I'd NEVER let it keep me from the gym. I do think it's distasteful, but it's not such a big deal to just avert my eyes. Anyway, this is not typical at my gym. People change, I'm naked while changing, but I'm not just naked for the sake of being naked, which it sounds like this chick…

I'm sorry you've had bad experiences! I can't imagine hating anyone on any physical thing, really. To answer your question, I suppose it's because putting others down makes some people feel better about themselves. Ironically, people usually get plastic surgery for the same reason-- to feel better about themselves. Neither…

I'm 5'8", my goal is 130, but I reserve the right to change that if I get there and still look flabby, or if I get to 140 and feel great about it. So much depends on body type. At 150 now, a lot of women my height would be healthy and look good, but on me it looks and feels flabby.

Wow. You look AMAZING. Those are the EXACT15 pounds I'd like to lose, please. Lol
