I'm still nursing my barely 2-yo, putting me at practically a solid 7 years of non-stop nursing. Let me tell you a something.... LOL I can relate. I have found that I'm a bottomless pit while BFing, AND that while it's true that it takes calories off, I've come to the conclusion that (in MY body anyway), it takes off big…

I did my L1D7, starting to get good at the push-ups (on my knees though), but those anterior raises are still killer!

This is what I use, too, and I love it. I don't use Buddy Runner, but I'll look into it, I do like this Google My Tracks program I've been using-- it maps where I've gone and calculates my high speed, average speed, etc, etc. What I love about using the app is that I don't have to check my watch. I don't even read what the…

Melatonin tends to help people fall asleep, but it's not a cure for STAYING asleep. Usually those are different problems, kwim? I would try the other suggestions in the thread, if that is his problem. They say that people who can't STAY asleep usually have concerns that are bothering them, mind racing, that kind of thing--…

I know people who just started without a program, and are great runners now... For me, though, I do need to follow a program. Running isn't ONLY conditioning your heart, it also can be really hard on your joints, and the rest of your body has to adapt. I've done the C25K before this time, and both times I jumped ahead in…

Oh, I am the queen of 2 left feet. When I said classes at the gym, think Spinning, NOT Zumba. LOL She sounds great!

Ditto to the other posters! Yes, this. I dowloaded an app called "C25K Pro" on my Droid. I think I paid $5 for it, or less. I listen to my music (Pandora, GoogleMusic, whatever, or the music they provide), and a voice cuts in to say "It is time to run now." Then "Time to walk now." "It is time to turn around now." halfway…

I ony done Jilian's 30DS, but I do love it. I'm more of a classes-at-the-gym person than a DVD person, though. But Q-- how does Leslie work? How do you walk to a DVD? Is it walking in place, or what?

Awesome!!

I forgot my favorite boy name earlier-- Adam. We never had a boy, and we're done, but if we had, I'd have pushed hard for Adam. And for those of you that want your baby's name to be unique or different, remember, most people in this generation feel that way, so my experience is that in my childrens' classes/groups (ages 7…

That is so awesome!! Great job! I am on week 5, day 1, and so far I think my best bet has been to just follow the voice on my app. LOL I never know in advance how long I'm going to be running for, and that's a good thing. I'm backtracking, and moved back to w5d1 after having done w5d2, because of shin splints, but when I…

I always thought I'd NEVER go with an ereader-- I love the feel, smell, weight of a real book too much. Surprise! DH hoisted a Kindle on me about 2 years ago, and I am in love. I still read hard books, from the library mostly, but I miss my Kindle when I'm not using it-- the complaints I might come up with are more than…

Way too open of a question. For starters, when men say "I love curvy women!" half the time they mean Jessica Biel. Whereas women hear it as meaning they like celulite and love handles. Another point is the fact that everyone has their own personal taste.

Honestly I think this is sometimes true. Sometimes reading message board complaints about the things people say, I wonder if people want everyone to have taped shut mouths, and say nothing, ever. LOL A lot of this is just conversation, even if it might annoy. I try not to take things as insults unless they're really bad,…

Thanks so much for keeping it together, Leo! I did my day 6 (all level 1 so far) today, but man, I felt sore! I blame my run last night more than anything, I guess. As far as boredom goes, I have to thank the poster who suggested turning down the TV volume, and listening to music. Saved the shred for me. It's also good to…

I can't believe how many people are saying they want a boy/ all boys... I have 3 little girls, and I'd have 4 more if I could be sure they'd all be girls. LOL Girls are SO. MUCH. FUN. Don't discount us. ;)

(blog) Awesome!! Great job! I'm trying this next...

I can't see the picture, but your results sound amazing! I'll have to try that video after the Shred, I think Jillian is amazing!

I would count them as water towards hydration, but I would go with a lemon more often than the artificial sweeteners-- even though they have low calories, Aspertame isn't something I want much of in my body. :) eta: and of course count the calories and log.

that is my 5 yo's name, I love it, & it really suits her. I have 3 girls, Audrey, Elena, & Mary. I also love Avalon, Athena, & Eleanor (she would go by Ellie or Nora), & Josephine. For a boy, we liked Eric, and I can't even remember the others, as boys just never came around. Lol honestly, if we had had a boy, we'd have…

Yep! I make my chili really healthy, no recipe, just whatever I have at the ready. Chili is one of the healthiest meals....... Until I decide it should just be a vehicle for cheese and Fritos. Lol THAT's the bad part!

Did it, and it felt great! Tried out the Vibram 5 Fingers for the second time, and they seem to be the antidote to shin splints for me.
-
Did day 5 today, felt great! I took the tip to listen to my own music, and loved that. Wish me luck, I'm starting week 5 over again on the C25K, after taking almost a week off for shin splints.... :)

Yep! Rant when you need to, but your mom and your friends... well, what they really want is to do what you're successfully doing. Is that really so bad? I would just continue to be a good example.

LOVE that first idea quoted! I'm so doing that from now on. I know the actions well enough. The second part-- I do the same thing. I've always been a yoga enthusiast, and Jillian's cooldown doesn't at all do it for me, so I do my own.

I second the Michael Pollan suggestion of In Defense of Food, and add all his other books! The Botany of Desire, by him, was SO intreguing-- he followed the Apple, Potato, Tulip, and Pot plant through history and current techniques, just crazy interesting. I thought I knew a relative lot about history and gardening being a…

I got so worked up I forgot to answer the Q! LOL I agree that "ads are made in the kitchen." After pregnancy, it's the skin that's as big a problem. I think all you can do is slim down (all over), work your abs, and see how the skin does. Give it time to see if it tightens up more, and hope for the best! I have extra skin,…

Great job at your loss! Looking great! As far as numbers go, I think your "build" comes into play. I am 5'8" but otherwise have similar numbers. I'm not technically overweight on charts, but on my slim built, it is overweight, kwim? 140 at our height might be really ambitious for someone with a stronger build, but for me,…

Hmmmm.... According to the app I use (C25KPro on my Droid) week 1 days 2 & 3 are exactly the same anyway. ? :)

Ooooh! I would love to join you guys if I may. I started a little earlier, I was on week 5, day 2 Monday night(which was AWESOME! 8 min runs, 5 min walk, and it felt so empowering as someone who's never made it that far before!), but I was battling some shin splints, so I took the rest of the week off. I'm hoping I can get…
