  • Amazing job! You look great!
  • Do you believe it is untrue that soda in all forms slows the body's absorption of calcium? Here's my problem, I don't care for the taste of diet sodas, so it's all academic to me, & I'm simply not interested enough to research the heck out of it. Lol all the signs pointing to it NOT being as good as water are frankly good…
  • Just from your picture, 16. From other reasons, like seeing your posts, and just being a member at a site like this, my guess goes up to 18-19. Depending on how old you really are, consider yourself lucky! Lol I'm 32, and would love to look younger!!
  • OK, so the earlier anecdotes that "my teeth are fine, and I drink diet soda, therefore it's fine for human teeth," are totally worthwhile additions to this thread, but a study based on questionnaires and dealing in liklihoods is SO suspect that you actually just can't hold back laughter? Hm... I don't think diet sodas are…
  • Wow! That's awesome! I am still a walk/jogger... But have my first 20 minute run scheduled for today (C25K w5/d3). Nail biting aside, I am looking forward to saying the same!
  • I haven't tried it on a baked potato, but I LOVE Greek yogurt (plain) as a substitute for sour cream, I think it'd be worth a try, with some chives. :) I don't at all like Greek yogurt on a spoon, but it shines replacing sour cream in recipes, and I've done it up as "ranch dip" for veggies and chips and such.
  • Ooooh... I like that idea. I said earlier, I also will overeat and log (though everything's homemade, and I'm not measuring, so just guesstimates), but I will try to work in extra workouts that week to try to cut the overage!
  • Look, kids, the question was "what's ur [sic] view?" :) If *you* think Diet Coke=water, more power to you! I don't. I think my view is pretty valid, because it is, after all, water /with/ other chemicals tossed in. I'm not the Diet soda nay-sayer, I'm really not. I drink a regular Coke or DP when I go out to dinner-- I'm…
  • I didn't qualify "from a hydration point of view," because there's more to my body & health than just the one-line of if I'm hydrated or not, kwim? For instance, actually, I was once told that Diet sodas didn't cause tooth decay. LOL (first off, that's not true). Our mouths are a part of our body, among everything else. :)
  • This is me! LOL I'll c&p this answer for Christmas Eve and Christmas, as well. :) I like to keep track, but I absolutely go over some days, and I'm OK with that. Holidays are no exception, I'm doing this for life and I'm going to work enjoying my life in with remaining healthy.
  • I'm not one for diet sodas, especially with the recent research indicating that it might... what? Slow metabolism? Or throw blood sugars off? Something to that effect. (LOL I don't care for the taste of diet sodas, so I never read much into it.) I am a believer in "calories in, calories out", but I think it's short-sighted…
  • The Redhead from Mad Men! She can hold an extra 10-20 lbs and have it just be in perky breasts, round hips, and a tiny waist. I like my body just fine, but I'd take hers, you bet! eta: I posted this at the exact same time as jill_ above. LOL I could have just quoted!
  • That's pretty much my philosophy. I think I'd do my kids more of a disservice by making alcohol this HUGE taboo issue. It's not treated like a big deal in my house-- mom (me!) usually has a glass of wine with dinner, dad a beer. No big deal. :) Though I don't get crazy drunk in front of my kids, the only people I've known…
  • Many hugs to you, I'm sorry you had such a rough day! I also think you might benefit greatly by having a professional to talk to. There's no shame in that, they'd be able to help you sort through, and deal with these feelings, when your husband might not know how to support you in the right way, especially. Great job in…
  • Yep! I'm not usually one to play the "jealousy" card-- in fact, I hate it when people *kitten*.u.me that's anyone's motivation... But in this case? Yes, your friend sounds ridiculous, and that's a possible motivation.A previous poster mentioned the Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy (which I loved!) and that author, a former…
  • For disclosure after the previous post, I am above 30, but I was below 30 when I read the Twilight books, for what it is worth. LOL I just read a lot, and compare it to much better books, in a nutshell. Twilight just can't stand up to that. Though the story itself was interesting in the fact that the author did make me…
  • Funny, I've never thought about it this way! I read a lot, but not specifically to supress my appetite, but the truth is, the better I do at keeping myself busy, the less I am thinking about (& eating) food. So perhaps everything. Rigth now I'm reading another of David Sedaris' books, this "Me Talk Pretty One Day," and…
  • Day 14 for me; level 2, day 4. Oh, I'm starting to get tired! I'm either coming down with something, or this is kicking my butt more than I realized. My clothes are getting nice and loose, though!! I feel like my joints are having a harder time with this than my muscles are. I also find myself doing some of the moves…
  • I feel similarly about everything ever connected to Twilight, from the terrible books to the stone acting. LOL The only person that really bothers me is Renee Zellweger. I just... I just can't seem to look at her without cringing. I like most others! I even like those I consider poor actors. Nic Cage was a good for…
  • I tend to agree. I honestly get that it can feel like the world is out to get you, I do. But I think in reality, these people's motivations, 9 times out of 10, are things like "make conversation to help my otherwise slow day go faster," "chit-chat with neighbor," "offer food because it'll make her feel good and well-liked…
  • I agree with the others, you just have to give it time. My kids each had to build up the time, and they all love it now. Talk to the teachers, see if they have any suggestions or ideas. I don't know that I'd say the daycare was lacking in any way. Confused? We've been at 3 different gyms, and all 3 will call parents after…
  • I feel so obligated to post here...
  • I'm in the same place... I'm not sure how much I want to lose yet, so I'm having a hard time deciding! In the meantime, I've bought just a few basics. Like I ALWAYS want a pair of jeans that look great, so I keep up with sizes on that. Otherwise, I can wear a pair that's too loose with a belt, and just make do. I don't…
  • Mel, I'm so sorry about your club. I hope you find something great real soon. Day 13, barely got it in. That's 10 at level 1, 3 at level 2. Oh, I'm feeling it today, in my shoulders!
  • I never know what people mean when they ask these. Looks? I guess I'm 7-8ish confident in my looks, up or down though depending on how I'm dressed and such. I don't really think that's what confidence is about, though, unless that's your focus. I'm confident that I'm a great person, who is smart, interesting, a good…
  • I think that's the miscommunication here! You & I, and a few other posters, are picturing someone standing straight, head on, feet near each other, thighs not touching. I don't know that I believe that anyone is that way healthy, regardless of body type (I'm another of the examples, at 5'8", even in high school at 115 lbs,…
  • OK, maybe we're talking something different! :) It's not my quote above, but I did ask earlier if it was practical for thighs not to touch. I consider your thighs to touch-- you are standing in your picture with your legs apart, and they are not touching in your picture-- is THAT what you guys mean when you say thighs…
  • Hm... When I was 120 lbs (I'm 5'8"), my thighs rubbed together. Is that because I was "skinny fat" (I was), or because peoples' thighs just touch each other? I always assumed that was just part of humanity, like how my arm will always touch the side of my rib cage. I look forward to being able to wear ANY pants without…
  • Great job! You look wonderful!
  • Yes, and I agree that our individual lines probably are arbitrary from the outside, I guess I just never understand why it's so troublesome for some posters when others draw their lines short of the place 'you' (general) would. Full disclosure, my DH goes to strip clubs once every year or 2 for bachelor parties, but not…
