BBurg - I have a huge smile on my face for you right now! What a great experience!! LuluA - I bet Thursday can't come soon enough!! Don't worry, it's already Tuesday!! :) Tigger - Hang in there, I agree with other posts re: look into it a bit further, just because the doctor "advised against" doesn't mean there isn't a…

I am at maintenance (though most days I go slightly over) and my weight hasn't changed much at all - I am gaining and losing the same 3 pounds every few days. 9w4d today so I'm feeling good about not gaining (yet!)

Saadia - they gave us a disc with the images on it, I can't wait to look through them again. I'm working OT tonight, so I'm in the office until 9pm - it's going to feel like forever until I can get home to see them!! At 9 weeks there really isn't a lot to see, but we could still see the little arms and legs!! Suzanne -…

I went for my first ultrasound today and it was amazing!!! My calculations had me at 8w3d but the technician dated me at 9 weeks today! It was the coolest thing to be able to see the heart beat and the little arms and legs! I will be returning for another ultrasound between 11-13 weeks for nuchal translucency ultrasound -…
-
Lady_Lamb that's great! I'm so glad you got to see the heartbeat!! &w2 is only 4 days difference from your calculation ... does that mean it changed your due date slightly too? Our ultrasound is on Friday morning and I really cannot wait! Indian - thanks for sharing your story about your daughter, I can't imagine hearing…

I have been waking up every few hours to pee! Two weeks ago was really bad, I would wake up at 3am and be wide awake (but still so tired) for about 2 hours, but then having to get up at 6:30 to get ready for work. I find if I don't turn on the bathroom light, and I get up, pee and crawl right back into bed, I seem to be…

I have maintained at 184.4 since finding out we are expecting (and will be 8 weeks tomorrow). Some days the scale is as high as 188 but is usually back down to 184.4 again the next day. I feel like I should have been gaining, as I have not been doing any exercise (too exhausted!) and have been inching over my maintenance…

I have emailed the midwife clinics in my area and received an automated response from all of them that I will only be contacted if space becomes available :( My sister-in-law has been to the maternity care clinic in our area twice and said the care she received was incredible, so I am not too worried, however I still have…

We found out our news the evening before flying out on vacation! While much of our vacation was relaxing, the first two days were major walking and sight seeing, then exhaustion set in! Since returning home from our trip, I have been too exhausted to do much of anything. I feel like all I do is work and sleep! I have…

I am so glad to hear you're feeling better today!! Hopefully you can get some good food and nutrition to stay down now!! I was tempted to go out for some bands on the weekend, but I decided to tough it out a bit (and so far am feeling okay) and also realized that I wouldn't be able to wear them without a zillion questions…

I am the same at about 2:00 in the afternoon, I am ready for bed! I feel like all I've done for the past 2 weeks is work and sleep! I feel like I might have to share with my co-workers soon for the simple fact they are all going to think I'm lazy and slacking off, but the truth of the matter is I can barely keep my eyes…

thanks ladies! this has all been very helpful! I am happy to report that my weight has not changed, and I will be 7 weeks tomorrow! I see my doctor on Friday so I'll chat with her about this and report back! I'm with you Lulu - baby is more than welcome to use up some of my surplus reserves!! LOL!

what are jimmy legs?

We shared with hubby's parents and sister as soon as we found out, and my sisters the next day. :) I chose to share with my HR manager at work the other day, as we have fallen short staffed and she was asking me to pick up some evening and weekend shifts. While I usually am uber reliable and fill in where ever she needs…

We were actively trying to conceive, so when my period did not arrive, we waited 4 days and took a home test - positive! YAY! I have been lucky (so far) (knock on wood) and have not experienced much in the way of not fun symptoms. More tired than normal, and yesterday I was almost in tears I was so exhausted (thankfully,…

I agree with you on this being the best surprise in the world! And I was determined all along, in conversations while we were trying to get pregnant that I wanted to wait to find out the gender. That all changed about a week after we found out we are expecting! LOL! For us, it is our first child. We have 6 nephews already…

my caluclations put me at June 10! I will be seeing my doctor late next week :) This is my first pregnancy and I'm very excited!! :)

just a suggestion ... you mentioned your daughter is high school age ... can she help out a bit more with preparing dinners / house keeping / laundry etc... ? I know the extra hands around my home to help out with that sort of stuff makes it much easier for me to get my workouts in and I find I don't have as much going in…

Here's my story, please add me if you feel that we could motivate each other! I ran my first half marathon (2:13 whoohoo!!) in October 2010, then made the beginners mistake of not taking enough time to rest and almost immediately started to train again for a February 2011 race. My hips gave out at the 12km mark of the…

I am no expert, so my suggestion would be to google or youtube some stretches for your hips and glutes and try to stretch out all of the muscles in the area that is bothering you. I always under estimate the power of proper stretching after a workout. It's usually what allows me to be able to carry on the next day!

I read the book and decided to cut back on my wheat intake, as I realized I was just consuming way too much! I find that I sleep much better, my skin is more clear and over all I feel that I have more energy. I don't agree with complete elimination of anything, but I do realize that too much of some things are not great…

a small dash of sea salt to raw veggies is wonderfully simple!

I am 29+1 years old 5'3" highest weight: 192 current weight: 184 goal weight: 140 I am fairly new to MFP, logging every day, reading message boards when ever possible to keep me on track and motivated! I would love to add some friends of similar height and weight so we can support and motivate each other!!

you are such an inspiration! wow! thank you for sharing your story! you look amazing!! Well done on completing your marathon!!

the way I see it ... if you're not walking, you're running. Regardless of your speed. I don't like the word "jogging" And be patient, acquiring distance and speed come with time. Keep it up and before you know it you'll be sailing past all those houses without a huff or puff in sight!

as far as I know, IT band runs along the outside of hip/thigh ... could it be one of your glute muscles?
-
you're doing great!! In the races that occur in my community, it is usually a mix of runners and walkers, so chances are, there will be plenty of walkers whose pace is slower than your running pace! don't be discouraged, there is nothing to be ashamed of even if you are the last one to cross that finish line - at least you…
-
my suggestion would be to try and slow it down just a bit. Your legs may not yet be strong enough to sustain the speed you're trying to accomplish.

Great job!! I am working on the 30DS and I hope I end up with the same results as you! Question: how do you get through the workout every single day? I find that after about 3 days I need to rest, my hamstrings are too sore or my quads are burning and I struggle to complete. Did this happen for you? If so, how did you…
