Good news, bad news. The bad news? I'm only logging my food during the week. The past 2 weekends I've been out and about and I start to log in the morning, but give up by midday because everything would be guesstimates and just finding something similiar in the MFP database anyways. The good news? I'm really enjoying doing…

Yaaaaaay! Welcome fuji! :flowerforyou:

Funny you should ask that, because I just got into a discussion about this exact topic. Let me start by saying this is what I personally do. I suggest you look into it and see what you find and form your own opinion. The body requires fat to perform basic functions. You will find different recommendations out there but…

Yaaaay! I'm doing Strong Curves/Advanced too. I did my first bulk using SC earlier this year as well. I think you will be very pleased bulking and do the program. :) How much are you looking to gain?
-
Gelato topped with chocolate syrup and a dab of peanut butter. That's my go to at the end of the day when I still have a couple hundred calories left.
-
First week and a half of bulking went well. I think I was 137.4 today or something, so definitely some water weight gain. I took measurements when I started, I just need to remember to post them!

I would wait a couple weeks at your current intake. Your weight can fluctuate a few pounds either way each day. It's the general trend you are looking for.

I'm just replying to try out the new forum. But agree with Lora. No such thing as spot reducing. Decrease your overall body fat and the flub will eventually disappear.

You sound a lot like me. Skinny fat is no fun. :( I'm the same weight (not sure what your height is) and I started to get the "too skinny" comments from people IRL. I look great with clothes on, but carry all my weight in my hips and lower belly. In my case I came to the conclusion that losing any more weight with the…

OK. Then just work on increasing your numbers by 100 each week. Baby steps. And if you ever decide to bulk, your goal will be to go in the red everyday. So start to get used to it. Good luck. :flowerforyou:

Agree. Sounds like you have an eating disorder. Please seek professional help ASAP.

You really need to get over your fear. Especially if you plan on building muscle in the future. How tall are you? I'm 5'8 and my maintenance is 2200 and that's with only lifting 3 times a week. If I did cardio it would be higher. Food is your friend. P.S. I see nothing wrong with adding potato chips or ice cream to your…

Yes, a calculator will only be able to give you a starting point. The only way you're going to know for sure is to try it out through trial and error. Sounds like you're well on your way. As far as you OP and advice on not feeling guilty about eating so much, just remember you are doing all of this to build muscle. You are…

Jo, I'm not gonna lie, but hearing you talk about losing strength during your cut actually makes me feel better. Because the same thing happened to me. I felt f*cking weak all the time and I hated it. So you're not alone. But it does suck girl. *hugs*

Important question: do you know your TDEE? And I don't mean from a calculator, I mean have you actually tested it? If so, just add 125-250 calories to that per day and you should be good. As far as macros go - they are very important so pay attention to them. You need to make sure you get enough protein and fats. There are…

I came to the same conclusion re: cutting anymore would be counterproductive to my goals. I'm glad we'll be bulking together again!

This. Don't get the dog just because you think it's cute. It's not an accessory. Sounds like you'd do better with a fish. :flowerforyou:

OP - I don't think you addressed the question that asked if you weighed and measured all of your food. If you did, then I missed it, but this is kind of important.

I'm curently on a logging break. It's been about a month and I've actually lost a pound and a half. Personally I believe a vacation should be a break from everything. Logging/exercise included. Just relax and have fun!
-
I decided not to log because I attended 4 bbq's in 4 days. It was glorious. Back to logging tomorrow. Boo!

No fricken way I'm counting calories forever. For me, it's annoying as hell. I'm only going to do it when I'm bulking or cutting. Once that's done with, I'll probably say goodbye to MFP. It's fun, but I don't feel like I could be on here for the rest of my life.

LOL. Sometimes 4 year olds just want to do the opposite of what their parents want to do. If I did everything my 4 year old wanted to do, we'd be eating ice cream for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, never go to preschool, and go to the store in our underwear. Sometimes you just gotta be the parent and make the decisions for…

I have a 4 year old. She gets very moody and always says she doesn't want to go to parties. We always go anyways and she ends up having a blast and doesn't want to leave. Glad you decided to go. I'm sure he'll have fun.

Ummmm, yeah, hello gorgeous!!! You did absolutely fantastic in this challenge and you are looking fabulous!!! :smooched:

I'm 31 and personally think it would look tacky on me at my age. Just my opinion.

I got the joke the first time. I was being facetious. Donuts are always worth it.

210 calories = 9,000,000 in Britain? Weird yo.

 Oh man, that was good. Thank you for the laugh.

^^She beat me to it. Read the link. ETA: Not everyone wants awesome arms like Michelle Obama. To each his/her own.

Because it's kind of awesome.
