can anyone give me a bit more info about the whole clipless pedal thing? My OH rides with them and says they make a lot of difference. I've had my beeeeyotiful Scott Contessa since April and am now thinking about upgrading to clipless pedals but I'm pretty clueless really!!!!!

Oops, just realised I have not checked into this thread!!! Well, as of this morning I have reached my 10,000 goal - and I'm on 10,103. Whooop whoop!!!! Good luck everyone else!!!

I've just started Week 6 and did run1 this morning. I still can't understand why, at the end of week 5, it suddenly jumps up to a 20 min run, only to then be broken down again the following week (until run 3 - eeeeeek). Why not just do an increment from 8 to 12 or something at the end of week 5 and then continue to build…

OMG there's an extra bit to HitchHikers???? I never knew that, I have loved those books for YEARS!!!!!

Thanks for the support - well I was out there at 6.40am and I DID IT!!!!!! Whoop whoop!!!!!!! Though I wanted to KILL Laura on the podcast when she announced that I'd only been running for 5 minutes, it felt a lot longer LOL!!!

Hello!!! I would love to join this group  I am on Week 5 and did the run for Day 3 this morning. I am totally flabbergasted that I managed to run for a whole 20 minutes when at the start I struggled to do 60 seconds!!! Re the NHS podcasts with Laura, I've gone RIGHT off her from this morning's run as it…

I cycle to work and back every day  At the moment my total for June is: 82. By the time I get home tonight I will be on about 86  Great challenge though, it's amazing how addictive cycling is once you start!!!

Don't know if this will help or not, but I'd been stuck at the same weight since March/April time. I started couch to 5k on 23rd May, and my loss has started again - I'm on week 5 and have gone down 4lbs. Perhaps think about giving that programme a go?

That's a great tribute.

Oooh, share share share - what did you write??
-
Mine varies but currently it's a picture of Star, my royal python. Bless her, she's very calm and docile, but will insist on climbing things and the falling off!
-
That's really cr*ppy. Good luck, hope you get them back OK.

Glad to hear this, I've got D3 week 5 and the dreaded first 20 min effort coming up tomorrow morning!!!!!!!
-
Whoops, my avatar's probably not the best one for you then!!! WORST movies for me: Snakes on a Plane/Train, Sea Snakes - I've never seen anything so funny aspeople walking into a reptile shop and pointing out the deadly, kill-you-with-one-glance royal python/corn snake/etc - when they're totally harmless unless you're a…

Although I'd been cycling for about 18 months, I'd never been a runner and actually hated even the thought of it - probably the last time I ran was when I was doing my "job" training when I joined the Navy - and that was in 1991!!!!!!! :noway: However I'm flippin desperate to firm up the flab on my thighs and stomach, so…

Hi all I am on week 5 of C25K and completed run 2 this morning. (8 minutes running, 5 mins walking, 8 mins running). But, I don't get why the 3rd run of week 5 takes you up to 20 minutes straight running - but then run 1 of Week 6 goes back to a block of running followed by walking-running-walking-running?? Does it do this…

 LOL!! Excellent

I'm doing this and am on Week 5 - did run 2 today. Am mildly horrified to discover that Run 3 is suddenly up to 20 minutes - from 8!!! Eeeeeeeeek!!!! I've noticed a small weight loss (about 1/2 pound but that's fine) but my abs are starting to become more defined, so I'm hoping that it's the running that's starting to melt…

Excuse me for this, I suspect I'm just having a really dumb day, :blushing: but I don't understand what you mean by 4min 30 miles? Do you mean it takes you 4 mins 30 secs to travel a mile on flat ground? Or am I just reading it totally wrong? Sorry!!!

I've got a couple on my list ! Crisps - will never be able to give them up - I just don't sit and eat a 250g bag of Walkers Sensations anymore!! Wine - nothing wrong with a couple of glasses at the weekend. And every Tuesday we go horse-riding for an hour and our reward for surviving (and working bl**dy hard LOL) is fish…

I second this, lessbounce are great - I bought my Freya sports bra from there. They're really good as well on the phone so if you have any queries re sizing etc are very helpful.

Congrats on the 50-miler, great ride !

I'm on Week 5 and did Day 1 this morning. Seemed to be much easier today than last week - and it seems to have kickstarted things again, as I've lost 1lb since I started after staying consistently at the same weight. Am intrigued to see what the 2nd run for Week 5 is!!!

Ooh, I'm up for this one. Think I'll go for 10,000

Cheers lovely people! I do have padded cycling legging/knicker things but they're not women specific, they are my OH's spare pair, so I will look at buying proper ladies' ones. I had thought about angling the saddle slightly but haven't yet done it, so that will be looked at tonight. Re the cream it's not chafing…

LOL unfortunately it's not the "butt" part for me that hurts, it's a little more delicate than that...!!! :embarassed: I use padded shorts and I still get some soreness where it really shouldn't hurt. Any tips to stop it? I've tried sitting back on my seat bones to take the pressure off of *that" area but I end up leaning…

Mine is: Mon to Fri - cycle to work and back each day (routes range from 2 up to 6 miles) Mon, Weds, Fri - Couch to 5k (currently just completed W4, D2) Tues - horse riding Thurs - rounders And depending on the weather, sometimes we ride or cycle on Saturdays. Sunday is a definite no-activity day!!!!
-
Take it that's a "no" then!

Sorry to hijack, I'd be interested in this too as I always seem to end up with a sandwich, banana and a yoghurt!!! *rolls eyes* Talk about boring LOL.
