In the U.S./"imperial" system of measurement, a teaspoon is a unit of volume, just a bit less than 5 ml, not a description for a type of utensil. So, no, how much sugar is in one tsp of sugar shouldn't depend on the size of the spoon, because all teaspoons should be the same size by volume, just as all yardsticks should be…

@lisakatz2 I'm very sorry if I made you feel weird. Last month, I (and @Annpt77 coincidentally) stumbled into a revived zombie thread, which I didn't notice at the time (just came across it again this evening, so I guess somebody new has been fooled by it), and I wish somebody between the original reviver and me had posted…

Is this a question? Are you talking about updating an incorrect database entry or your own food diary?

Scanning bar codes doesn't ensure accurate database entries. It's still crowdsourced. You need to check the information in the database entry against the package label or some other reliable source, like the USDA nutrient database. A food scale will also improve accuracy. A package can contain more food than the label…

@AnnPT77 No doubt you're right. The spam must have been removed by the time I got here, because at that point Lisa's was the first post in 10 years on this thread. I don't understand the harm in letting someone who somehow stumbled into a long-dormant thread know that they're talking to ghosts or zombies, but you're on…

Be sure to tell MFP that when you go through the goal-setting process.

Train less. Fewer times per week (3X not 4 to 6X). Probably less time per session (say a 5 minute warmup, 30 minutes on a progressive resistance routine focused on full body exercises, followed maybe by 10 mins of moderately challenging cardio). Eat more. Once you meet your nutritional needs, there's no bonus to sticking…

Best of luck.

@lisakatz2 you have replied to a thread that has been inactive for 10 years. If any of these people are still on the forums, hopefully they have long since gotten help.

Maybe try non-cow's milk (goat, sheep, whatever is available to you) or plant based milk (soy, oat, rice, almond, what have you).

Prove you're not a bot.

On the website, go to check-in. If the specific thing you want to measure isn't listed, click on "track additional measurements" below the list of measurements. I don't think you can create new categories to track on the app -- at least not on the Android app -- but once you create a new category to track, it will show up…

I'm not sure what the problem is. You've lost 53 pounds in nine months, or about a pound and a half a week, which seems like a fast but not overly aggressive at your start and current weights. Can't you just keep doing what you've been doing? Shorter answer: whatever your current calorie consumption is appears to be just…

In the U.S. it will typically tell you on the label how many grams are in a serving (labels more typically measure a serving of liquids and semi-liquid foods by volume). It's not a mystery. A few centimeters away from the information that there were 2.25 servings in the bag, it almost certainly defined a serving in grams…

Most of the calories in nuts are from fat, so I wouldn't look to nut snacking as a way to produce protein overload.
-
Also diluted fruit juice (start at one to one and decrease as much as you like over time).

Iced coffee or iced tea, with artificial sweetener if you like, both available in decaf if you want to limit caffeine. Herbal teas, or blends of herbal and real tea.
-
Not milliliters. That's a volume measure, just like tablespoons or cups.

Can you weigh the ingredients your wife uses when she cooks? Even for a few times until you get used to estimating? The reality is that unknown ingredients can quickly add up to your intended deficit, and logging is a skill which takes a surprising amount of effort. I’ve been logging for 7 ish years and I’m in maintenance…

Entering 30 is entering a custom amount. When you used the whole packet and selected 100 g as the serving size, you should have typed 0.9 into the field for the number of servings (the leading zero isn't necessary; I just put it there to be sure people saw the decimal point).

I don't know what you mean by saying the app is only mainstream. There are vegans, keto-ists, "clean" eaters, pure carnivores, IF-ers, and people following dietary approaches I've probably never heard of all using the app. You can adjust goals for various macro and micro nutrients to whatever you choose. You can enter the…

I use meals mainly for things that I prepare one serving at a time for an individual meal, often with a number of things I might swap in and out each time (e.g., smoothies, oatmeal with all the various things I might mix in, meals fron places with pick-and-choose options, like Chipotle, where I might have chicken and black…

Maybe try closing the app and restarting your phone (or logging out of the website and restarting your laptop) after you change front kj to cals in your settings. I had a brief period a few days ago where all the database entries were in kjs, but everything righted itself without my even checking my settings. Sometimes MFP…

Just want to point out that because you have a significant amount to lose (5 stone or 70 pounds), you really don't need to be spot on at the beginning. It's going to take a while, so you've got plenty of time to adjust, and you can afford to aim for 1.5 or probably even 2 pounds a week, so even if the estimate is a little…

Best of luck. I don't think enthusiasm is necessary to success here -- just a willingness to be reasonably accurate in your logging.

Yes, releases for people who get filmed in public for commercials is still "a thing." Watch a show like "What Would You Do?" on ABC, where they stage ethical conundrums and film people's behavior, and you'll occasionally see people with blurred faces because they didn't sign a release.

I once asked a couple of teenagers taking selfies in the mirror (so potentially catching unaware people changing on the other side of the room) and they stared at me like I was speaking some language they did not know.

You can do it in the free version. All you do is be MFP "friends" with the person you want to share with and set your privacy settings for your diary to open to friends (or you could just set it to public and not have to be friends with the person you want to share with). Log your recipe in your diary. The other person can…

The constipation could be contributing to the weight stall -- if you have more days of food in your digestive system at any given time, you're going to weigh more.
