  • Thank you! And well done on your gain, too! You look so much happier and healthier now.
  • There's a pretty big difference in time (over ten years), but I very slowly went from anorexic to a healthy weight but without loads of muscle, to having more definition. Anorexic: Much healthier (though with a still-in-progress relationship with food. I don't engage in behaviours as much but mentally I still struggle. Top…
  • Any body type is fine for the gym. It'll depend more on what your specific goals. You're being a bit vague at the moment--how tall are you, what's your weight, and how many calories do you eat per day? What type of physique are you aiming for? Those who didn't hit those goals probably weren't as dedicated as they could…
  • I just guess. If I worked up a sweat, I put it down as circuit training. If it was slower weight lifting, I put it down as strength training. I figure it's close enough and it hasn't thrown a wrench in the goals.
  • I was in recovery (aside from very brief blips) for about 14 years, and now I'm about to have my initial assessment for CBT for bulimia. This is a process. You'll have better periods and rough periods, and it's always a good idea to reach out for help when you recognise you've slid back.
  • Yeah, be careful of that mindset--I used to compulsively overexercise and it was a form of bulimia. If it's a piece of cake, just do your usual workouts. By all means, hop on the elliptical if you feel like it for a bit in the evening, but don't do it because you feel like you have to 'erase' the cake. Longterm, it's…
  • 1200 is too aggressive. Fuel your body with nutritious food and have a smaller deficit. It's not a race, it's a lifestyle change. It's more sustainable long-term that way.
  • Also, if you are someone who menstruates, it's even harder to be super accurate. My weight tends to go up by 4-5 pounds around the TOM.
  • I just tell my friends I don't feel like drinking and they don't push it because they respect my choices. If I feel like drinking, I usually have gin and diet tonic, vodka tonic lime, or rum and diet coke. Often I alternate between just diet coke and one with rum. Bonus is I'm rarely hungover. Getting drunk lowers my…
  • I weigh most things, but I can't get too stringent about it or my old eating disorder habits come creeping back. So I will log 'one apple' instead of weighing it and inputting grams because I don't care if I'm off a bit on an apple. But I will weigh something like cheese or peanut butter. I just log 200 ml of milk a day…
  • I am coming out of a brief but horrible bulimia relapse of about 3 months. This is what is helping me: 1. A food diary, but like the above poster said, don't be too stringent. If I weigh every little thing it makes my anxiety worse and I tend to go 'screw it' and eat a whole packet of crackers or something. But get used to…
  • I tend to do half whole wheat pasta and half-zoodles as a compromise. If I do all veg noodles, I'm hungry again in an hour.
  • Bi girl! Always happy to have more queer cuties on my friends list.
  • I started at the beginning of the year and I'm so glad I did. It's done wonders for my confidence in a way all the running and cardio didn't. I'm definitely not bulky as a result, even though I've doubled most of the weights I lifted at the beginning.
  • I find mine tend to even out naturally. If one day I go way over on fat, the next day I seem to crave more carbs. Bodies tend to know what they want. For weight loss, calories in and calories out is the formula. For weight lifting, you should try not to go too low on protein etc, but again, if you're low one day, just make…
  • A gentle facewash, applying benzoyl peroxide 2.5%, then a gentle mosturizer helps me when I keep up the routine. I also take a birth control that's for skin and it helps the most with the hormonal acne, but I know not everyone wants/can take BC pills.

  • I just guess and don't overstress. Over the week, if you're pretty sensible, even if you're a bit off in your estimation, it should even out. I was just in Romania for 10 days. Had zero idea what the calories were in anythinggg. I had fun while I was there, also walked a lot. I gained less than half a pound and it's gone…
  • I'm a 'chegan' - basically, I try to eat plant-based as default, but I'm flexible when I need to be. Since I used to have a really bad eating disorder, having anything be totally off limits is just a recipe for disaster for me. It works for me and I find it a happy balance. I feel like I'm helping the environment, but I…
  • I tend to keep it to 3 protein shakes a week or so, either as a postworkout snack or instead of dessert. My favourite is chocolate, frozen cherries, and almond milk. I was finishing up my whey one, so in the market for a new one that's plant-based and mixes well. Just ate a roasted cauliflower, pomegranate seeds, soy…
  • I'm not vegan but try to eat plant-based as default. I am a little lower on protein than I'd like, so following for tips/best protein powders etc. I've been weight lifting pretty regularly since January and love it!
  • I use machines for plenty of my workouts. Today was leg day and I used these machines: leg press, leg extension, calf raises. Hip abduction (both out and in machines) can still help strengthen the stabilising muscles to prevent injury. I used free weights for lunges, and the stability ball for hamstring curls. For back and…
  • You look incredible. *heart eyes emoji*
  • I'm always open to more friends and I'm pretty active. Height: just shy of 6 feet Starting weight: 165 lbs Current weight: 158 Goal weight: unsure, since I'm doing more weight lifting/recomping. Maybe 150-152? Not shifting massively in terms of weight, but I'm focusing a lot on fitness this year. Going to run a 10k, weight…
  • I get a grande nonfat misto with sugar free caramel. A misto is half filter coffee and half steamed milk--I find a latte too filling and this is a nice compromise. It's not on the regular menu, but every store I've been to always knows what it is. 70 calories. Sometimes I get it with almond milk, which is 50.
  • It helps my mood. I go with a friend and we call it Whinge n Weights--we talk out our worries and take it out on the weights. It's great. I like challenging myself.
  • Jan 1 - 164 Jan 29 - 159.8 Total loss: 4.2 lbs.
  • I like 30 day shred. To those who find Jillian brash, I enjoy the Fitness Blender videos. Husband and wife team who are gentler in approach, but still difficult workouts!
  • You're definitely being pretty aggressive. I'm a woman, 6'0" and 162 pounds, and I lose on 1700 calories a day, plus eating back half my exercise calories.
  • Yep, water and hormones. Just keep being consistent.
