A liquid cup is 250ml :) Well, with the metric system here in Australia it is...

Do it because you love your body, not because you hate it :)

Haha, I didn't wear make-up to work one day because I was running late. Had about 3 people ask me if I was ok and if I was sick/tired. So much for the 'natural' look :grumble:

What about a omelette, crustless quiche or frittata? You could add lean meat to it to boost the protein, or veggies to boost the volume? A friend of mine puts bacon, chives and potato/sweet potato in hers to bulk it up, as she is intolerant to gluten. I have to admit, i love eggs EVERY way. But I have started only having…

I was running around on a crazy night shift at work and a patient's mother looked at me and said 'look at you go! no wonder you're such a skinny little thing!'. I'm trying for toned, not skinny  and I work my butt off both in the gym and at my job! But I smiled, laughed and thanked her, because it's still amazing…

I would probably break my glasses with my incredible clumsiness if I tried to work out or run with them. Doesn't help that I wear big, nerdy 'goggles' hahah. :blushing: I wear contacts for work as its hard to wear my prescription glasses under safety glasses, so I just keep them in when I work out or run. I have less of a…

I have to eat before I work out, otherwise I get dizzy and have no energy! But you just have to do what works for you, there is no right or wrong way to do it! It's a myth that working out on an empty stomach burns more calories, btw :)

Hahahah, I just got back from a run and was identifying pretty hard with some of these!

I agree. Provide her with healthy food options, but don't start giving food/food-behaviours negative labels. I remember growing up with a mother who (despite being gorgeous inside and out) was always critical of herself and her size, and was always on one diet or another. I was a bigger (not overweight, but not skinny!)…

I'm doing the C25K "Zombies, Run" program. It's great fun, motivating and I'm finding its working so far (I'm a few weeks into the 5 week program). I've never run before, but I find I'm looking forward to each workout.

First of all, THANK YOU so much for using 'lose' instead of 'loose'. Really bugs me  But seriously, welcome to MFP! When I read your post, I saw how I was myself when I first joined. The hardest part is getting your mind sorted - its not a diet but a lifestyle change! Be kind to yourself, practice self-acceptance…

Succinct and correct as always, Trogs!

I have a Fitbit One also, and absolutely love it! I find it very motivating and gives me a better idea of my daily energy expenditure as days can vary wildly in my job. Took me a good week (and a lot of google-ing) to get it all working smoothly, but now I would feel lost without it! I also use a HRM to track my workouts,…

My measurements! I'm pretty close to my goal, and am trying to gain some lean muscle and tone up. So at this point the number on the scale is moving very slowly (which can be a bit disheartening for someone who used to have such a weight-orientated mindset). I've learnt to trust my measurements and how my clothing fits,…

That's awesome! You go, little dancing guy! Woo!

Red wine and dark chocolate are definitely included in my medication cabinet too - they stop me from oxidising haha

Coffee every day and vodka on weekends :P

Is wine a food? :drinker:

Dirty Martini :blushing:

I use the "Zombies, Run" app, and whenever "Zombie" by Family Force 5 comes on my running gets pretty fierce

I work shift work, so it varies greatly! However, I TRY to get 6-7 hours sleep no matter what time I have to get up. Otherwise, coffee makes up for lack of sleep haha :drinker:

Not getting enough carbohydrates could contribute to fatigue, as could dehydration. Otherwise, see your doctor - I was tired all the time, turns out I was low in iron. Upped my red meat intake and now I feel amazing!

I had done all the fad and 'quick' diets before, with no success. To be honest, they only caused me to gain weight in the long term, and by the time I turned to MFP I was wishing I was the size I was when I first thought I was fat! I decided that this was going to be a lifestyle change, and not a diet. I realised that my…

I pretty much put it on everything. It makes everything better, in the same way that bacon makes everything better. Bacon and avocado together is, well, perfection.

Yes! I love my big breakfasts (usually always including eggs and often bacon hehe), medium lunches and then a smaller dinner. I allow myself snacks whenever I need them throughout the day - and a large portion of my allowance is saved up for snacks! That being said, I'm a shift worker (a nurse), so sometimes I'm having…

I do the MFP diet…. although its not really a diet, its been a lifestyle change. I eat what I want, but maintain my deficit (I also eat back most of my exercise calories, heheh). Portion control is key, and so is the revelation that the better you eat….the MORE you can eat. That being said, I eat chocolate EVERY day and…

Why does it seem wasteful to say no, but not wasteful to eat them when you don't want them? To me its a waste of calories if I don't want something/don't enjoy something/feel guilty about eating something. Enjoy your food, and eat what you want…but don't treat your body like a trashcan.

Do you use a preventer as well as a bronchodilator? If your asthma makes it hard, talk to your doctor about a management plan. Personally, I love my cardio….but didn't always. I was SO unfit when I started, so I struggled a bit. But now its just a part of my workout routine, along with lifting. But I have to mix it up a…

Hahahahah, YES!!!!!

I'm a nurse, and I am proud of the fact that I can encourage my patients to live healthy without being a hypocrite :)
