Welcome! Add me if you like. I love MFP and agree with the posters above: It is GREAT for support and motivation. Trick is, you gotta find some good friends!!

I may be working harder than I need to, but I break it down to running, calisthenics, etc. Depending on your weight and how hard you work, u should be burning ~600-1000 calories in an hour.

Welcome :) You can use this site lots of ways. For me, I have found that having a good friend circle helps. You can motivate each other and hold each other accountable. Logging everyday and everything helps because you can learn where you are goofing and gaining and what your bad habits are. If you log everyday and meet…

THANKS again to all of the insightful replies and all the new friends. As I said before, it takes a while to make new habits and I am working on this one. You all are right, it is a two way street. Looking forward to shrinking with y'all!!

Awesome post and sadly true....keep up the good attitude!!

Yeah, I'm not much for gloating, though I do log my bad days when I am in the habit of logging. I just fall off sometimes when life takes over. It takes time to build new habits, right? And good advice on the notice, thanks

Thanks for the support folks. I don't blame anyone for the choices they make, only try to encourage better ones. But the social networking/accountability aspect of MFP is definitely one of the reasons I chose it over the countless calorie counters out there. I work better knowing that there are people that relate out there…

I use a lot of yoga DVD's, pilates, things for the stability ball. When you get more huff and puff, try Budokon. I love that one. I am a former smoker and even did it when I was still smoking. Worth quitting, but exercise will help with building up your respiratory strength and endurance..

I love almond milk and have been drinking it for a couple years. The unsweetened almond is only 40 cals per cup. Sometimes when I want a treat, though I go for the sweetened vanilla--it is so delicious. 90 cals per cup.

Good idea! I did the same thing with the bikini I wore the last time I was at a more ideal weight. Sigh...that was 30 lbs ago-- Anyway--I rocked that bikini once and I will again!

I have the same cravings, I've started making delicious frozen fruit treats. I use fresh papaya, cantaloupe, banana--whatever with that sort of texture. Cut it up while ripe and sweet, freeze, put in food processor. I add a little Keifer (yogurt drink), but only enough to get it going. When its finished its a beautiful…

Hows this for motivation: The same thing happened to me 6 years ago when I got fit. I lost 15 lbs, hit a plateau. Then I switched up my exercise routine and lost another 15 lbs! I got to my goal weight. And then I got lazy, complacent and forgot how I got fat to start with and gained it all back(+10) over the last 6…

I am also "collecting" supportive friends. Add me :)
