And I realized while gaining weight I maintained a straighter look.
-
I just don't get how a body shape changes that drastically? I thought if you lost fat a certain way that's the way it was going to be.
-
From body shape calculators I have what is called an hourglass now but before I really didn't seem to as I was so straight in the hips. My actual hips are still pretty straight in some jeans they look curviest but they're actually straight but set far apart in comparison to the waist.
-
Like compared when I was much thinner I had no difference between waist and hips while I do now. Before After
-
I'm not obsessed I just noticed my shape changed. I actually have to know what my bra size and waistline is good to track.
-
My structure is still straight it's just my waist lost width. My rib cage is about the same though.
-
Mine don't really look like any of those... Mine are straight my waist does most of the curving. My hips are 33" and I don't store fat there it's just bone. But my waist is 22.5" so we kind of have similar inverse measurements. My measurements are 36-22.5-33. So my hips aren't round but they make my lower waist curve out.…
-
Yeah but what happened to me has nothing to do with weight loss or gain. For some reason my waist synced in creating curves upward and downward instead of just upward. That's why I asked this.
-
I don't know if this makes me hourglass but I don't have a problem spit really as my measurements are 36-22.5-33. My issues usually have to do with my skin or keeping my breasts perky. But I have no fat issues with shape and weight gain. My hips don't have weight gain on them ever and they"re very bony but prominent in…
-
My butt is round and perky actually I have a defined panty line. And I gain weight on my butt and thighs. The only thing that changed for me was I lost inches in my waist without losing inches in my hip measurement which I usually lose in my hips first. And this was also done without weight loss. I also didn't exercise I…
-
Because now when I put my measurements in 36-22.5-33 I get hourglass. But some things don't fit like my shoulders which aren't taken into account. I also don't have a round look on my lower half at all. I'm just wider with no curve and a round butt and thighs but my hips are curvy or round like the hourglass description.…

thanks for pointing this out. I'm not Caucasian either it might be why finding my true body shape was hard initially I didn't see that thanks
-
in most of those photos I was 100 lbs I have a very small figure actually. I look fat at 108 which was my heaviest weight last October I'm back at 95-100 lbs right now. I prefer 100 lbs because it's a healthy size. I have underweight problems. And I don't have a flat butt. I have an *kitten* arch. But I do have narrow…

My bad my mom has 35" shoulders. So I guess she's top heavy ETA Don't know if I said this before the woman in this topic used to be over 170 lbs. that's why I put her in this section.
-
Yeah when my mom saw certain individuals who would be considered rectangle shaped due to the waist and also because when she wears clothing she doesn't have an issue of waist definition. She doesn't gain weight evenly. Usually in her thighs. I figure she doesn't fit in one category perfectly. But as I said before after…
-
For a short female that may not be the case. But I get what you're saying basically. She used to measure below her belly button and get 25". But now she knows to go above to measure at her waistline.
-
Huh? What are peartangles? Or applircles?
-
As far as what I want to hear I don't really care. I was genuinely curious.
-
Yeah but you're forgetting the shoulders. We were unsure because to my mother she thought kim kardashian was an hourglass. That's why the question was asked Also if you do her waist to hip and shoulder to waist ratios that's much more pronounced than a bigger person. She's 4'11" barely 93 lbs 31-23-33 with 33 shoulders.…
-
Yeah my mom's similar she didn't care either I just was tired of her self identification being a rectangle when she saw Cameron diaz she realized she couldn't be that and she was an hourglass. I guess I like having an answer for everything
-
Not arguing sorry if that's what you want. However, I only explained the conclusion my mom came to after examining the 12 body shapes. Thanks for your answer anyhow.
-
She looked at shapes of different body types the twelve different ones she identified closer to Candice swanepoel which is an hourglass an athletic.
-
Her shoulders are 33" inches so that makes her proportionate
-
Don't really care if people are trying to say whatever. Fact is her measurements are too different to be rectangular. I tried to look up quizzes and ask her questions on her wardrobe she can wear anything look good in it but I think she's A tiny hourglass honestly by what we can tell.
-
Yeah that helped. Thinking of it. Almost anything that she puts on if it fits right shows off waist definition however if she wears crew necks or anything to bulk up it makes her look unbalanced. Same with the bottom half. But she has a well defined waist.

http://www.insideoutstyleblog.com/2008/09/body-shapes-explained-h-shape-rectangle.html http://www.thechicfashionista.com/rectangle-body-shape.html For Joyofclothes, she doesn't have less defined waist. She doesn't have a flat butt. Her tummy is not average but small 25". For fashionista she gains weight in her thighs not…
-
Nope I'm talking about my mom who's actually on here too. I'm not a troll. I said her hips are too big compared to her waist but her hips themselves are narrow. If you can't picture what that looks like maybe you need to get out more so you'll see what I'm actually talking about. For now there's nothing I can say further…
-
Because if she's not an hourglass or pear she can't be a rectangle her hips are too big compared to her waist.
-
It's just both of us have been curious if there was an exception? That's all in this case?
-
All sites I've looked on say if your hips are 10 inches bigger than your waist then you're not a rectangle shape.
