  • Magazines are a pretty good resource for anti-zombie traps, too. Slipperier than a banana peel if you're trying to outrun them!
  • Soy, whey and egg protein are generally found to have the best balance of essential amino acids, and I haven't come across any solid evidence yet that says one is better than the other. They're all good for you! (If you have any lactose intolerance issues, soy would be better. If you're concerned about estrogen-mimicking…
  • Immediately post a "Starvation mode - HELP!" thread on MFP. Because there aren't enough of those.
  • Are you sure you have low testosterone? Your doctor can do a blood test to find out. Moobs can also be a product of high oestrogen levels, high body fat percentage, genetics, or a side-effect of some medications and illnesses. It's not always hormonal. It's important to know whether or not your hormone levels are the…
  • If you'd prefer to avoid the cities, there are some gorgeous natural spots in northern Australia. Perhaps you'd like Kakadu? It's a national park that sprawls over an area about half the size of Switzerland. If you visit between January and April you'll catch it in the wet season, which is when the whole place blooms. Hope…
  • A couple of cookies and takeout once a week? That doesn't sound too bad, should be easy enough to make up for it with a little extra exercise. I'm sure you can still achieve your goal! Most of us -- myself definitely included -- indulge a little. IIFYM, etc. Maybe it would help to keep healthier cookies in the house? I've…
  • You're right, he's just being insensitive. I'll bet he didn't even buy you a My Little Pony t-shirt for your birthday. HE DOESN'T DESERVE YOU!
  • He's probably just worried that Thanksgiving will go over his 500 cals/day limit (sensible of him). If you serve diet soda and celery he'll realise how supportive you are! :flowerforyou:
  • Great question! I have a couple of dietary ruts that I need to dig myself out of too, so thanks for the reminder. :flowerforyou: Lots of raw vegetables taste great with peanut butter. Snow peas, carrot sticks, celery, cucumber, capsicum, broccoli stems… maybe try a couple of these in place of the apple, to get a bit more…
  • Absolutely, I've noticed this too! It might also be because, when you're close to your goal weight, nobody wants to imply (through excessive cheering) that you're still chubby? At that point losing another couple of kilos is a personal preference, not a medical necessity.
  • Hi Missar; Maybe if you post your question with this group? http://www.myfitnesspal.com/groups/home/240-aussie-aussie-aussie Good luck!
  • A twerking turkey? Someone's really gotten into the spirit of Thanksgiving! Someone posted a pic of this a while ago, and it literally turned me on. Damn. I don't even eat bacon.
  • Hi, OP. Konjac/Konnyaku/Shirataki/Miracle Noodles are all the same thing. If you try those terms in the 'search' function of this forum you'll find plenty of discussions. Essentially, they don't taste good or bad. They have no flavour, and -- as long as you rinse them properly -- no scent. The texture is very chewy, almost…

  • This baked broccoli recipe is very, very good and easy to make. http://www.amateurgourmet.com/2008/11/the_best_brocco.html Green beans, lightly steamed or boiled, can easily be made more interesting. http://www.simplyrecipes.com/recipes/green_beans_with_almonds_and_thyme/ ….and I can't understand why anyone would make pie…
  • Thanks for the link, Yarwell!
  • Hi Boofuls; First, congratulations on your 44lb loss! It's true, body composition can be influenced by genetics, but not as much as you may think. - There's no mention of lean body mass. Twins with higher LBM would burn more calories, even at rest, than a low LBM pair on the same diet. - Deliberate exercise was limited,…
  • #1 - Peel, dice finely, add 1 tbsp water & microwave until tender. Stir in sweetener and cinnamon, then serve on top of oatmeal. #2 - Slice, and use the slices like an edible spoon to eat yoghurt with. #3 - Cut into 8 wedges and top each one with cheese, peanut butter, spices or bacon. #4 - Chop into cubes and add it to a…
  • Doesn't that get awkward, trying to complete your withdrawal in a hurry when there are other people lining up to use the ATM, and hoping none of them can see your PIN code?
  • Oh, and so far, I'm down an elephant's penis and two ostrich eggs. Before I lost them, I used to place the eggs on either side of the base of the penis, because, y'know…
  • The bartender sets an automobile tyre in front of the guinea pig, and says "hop in and I'll get the flamethrower to make you nice and Krispy."
  • It sounds like you need more calorie-dense foods that are high in protein and fat. Example: - unsalted nuts - eggs - meat - cheese I wish I needed to eat more cheese! If you open your diary so everyone can see what you're eating you'll probably get more recommendations than you want.
  • @ TheRoadDog. Sure you can, Alibris has them starting from $57. http://www.alibris.com/The-Judoka-W-D-Norwood/book/3475598?qsort=p&matches=7&cm_sp=works*listing*buyused
  • Yes! I revisit TCoMC at least once a year. If only they hadn't happily-ever-aftered the movie version… :grumble: 'Call of the Wild', Jack London, is my favourite bedtime story. Did anyone else feel genuinely sorry for Humbert in 'Lolita', Vladimir Nabokov?
  • If it helps at all, the burgundy one has a waffle-weave fabric, so it will probably 'hang' better and give more coverage to bra-strap bumps etc. than the red one, which from the photos is probably quite a thin fabric. The blue is beautiful but it looks like it might bunch up over the stomach a little.
  • Do you have digital kitchen scales? A simple option would be to spray oil for 4-5 seconds directly onto the scales (or onto a plate after tare-ing). That will give you an accurate measurement of how many grams you're using.
  • Hi Hazel; There are plenty of those websites, but I think the one you mean is Model My Diet. http://www.modelmydiet.com
  • Without seeing the menu I'll guess your best option is to order a steak or some grilled fish, preferably with vegetables on the side. Just don't eat the mountain of chips that inevitably comes with it.
  • :blushing: Aww, thanks! Yours are still better, though. Mine needs more cowbell! I mean, more practice! *ahem* I certainly blushed and batted My eyes when TheRealOrson flattered An off-the-cuff rhyme (took next to no time) Now all of my thoughts are scattered! C'mon, MFP, come play!
  • Hi mirrinias; First, CONGRATULATIONS on your loss so far! Great to see long-term results. Would it help to only keep unsweetened chocolate in the house? I'm talking about the 99% cocoa, seriously bitter/inedible stuff. That way you need to dilute it before it can be eaten -- 10 grams melted into a cupful of fat-free milk…
  • Must not let this thread die! For TheRealOrson, with thanks for the giggles: The test of an Orson that's real Can't be done by taste, scent or feel You must look for pics Of a t-shirt that splits When he shows off his biceps with zeal.
