I've never been good at pre-logging my foods (I always change my mind when mealtime comes), but I do try to pre-log my cals... i.e. I'll budget 350-400 cals for breakfast, around 350 for lunch and about the same for dinner. That leaves a bit for snacks... I choose high volume, low cal, high protein snacks (like cole slaw…

Bump; loving all of the light mayo-free recipes... we can't get light mayo where I live!
-
Oh yeah, I am so doing this... very soon! Do you roast at about 425 degrees?

Bump; cabbage has been a hunger-buster for me in the past... time to grab more and try out some of these great suggestions. Keep 'em coming!

Ooh, I like the idea of "lazy lasagne"! Might be good to make with zoodles as well. :)

Bump; considering 6:1 for maintenance!

Nice work! You look wonderful. Congrats on your first 5K. What is your maintenance plan?

Interesting. Does the oil give your tea a coconut flavour? A few of my MFP pals use it in their coffee in the morning.

Thanks for addressing this important topic. Bumping to learn more!

Bump; my highest day has been 22,000 steps... am quite impressed at the numbers I'm seeing here. I've dropped a total of 20 pounds since incorporating walking at least 10,0000 steps a day (monitored by Fitbit). Woo hoo for walking!

Adore mine! I only use mine with zucchini, and use it wherever I'd use spaghetti; with a meat sauce, marinara sauce, Alfredo or other pasta sauce. Sooooo good! http://www.amazon.com/GEFU-13460-Spirelli-Spiral-Slicer/dp/B0026RMEK4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1407295647&sr=8-1&keywords=gefu+spirelli+spiral+slicer

Does anyone know if dental night guards stop the actual bruxism, or do they just protect the teeth as we grind away?

Will SO be making this. Sounds like it'd be great cooked in muffin tins (anything to help with portion control, because it sounds that good!). Thanks so much for sharing :).

Loving all of these great breakfast ideas. This morning was an egg-white omelette; egg whites, mushrooms, spinach, bacon bits and cheese with Tuscan seasoning.

Hmm... I can't seem to get this link to work. However, I just strap on my HRM and use it when rebounding to calculate calories. A formula or calculator for it would be nice to compare, though! :)

Time to revive the thread... am heading into oral surgery at some point within the year and collecting great ideas for "soft foods" during those first days and weeks post procedure!

I also walk at lunch or break times... even ten minutes here or there adds up. If I find I don't have enough steps and can't get out, I walk in place on my mini-trampoline in front of the TV. Gotta love the Fitbit "Champ" message when you hit 10,000 steps for the day! PM me here for Fitbit profile info :). Edited for…

Thanks for the super links... always looking to keep nutritious eating on a budget-friendly level!

Way to go! Good cooking is all about preparing food to your own tastes... maybe you don't "suck" at cooking as much as you thought :). Keep experimenting with recipes and making them work for yourself. Soon you will have a personal repertoire of foods to batch cook!

^^ Have I met my MFP cooking twin? I make the same (plus brussels sprouts when in season), plus brown rice (cooked in a fool-proof rice cooker using store-bought low-salt chicken broth rather than water... more flavour). Sometimes I cook up taco mince using ground chicken or turkey with the usual packet of taco seasoning…
