Bump for more recipes. An Italian Senior Citizen taught me to put the turkey mince/ground turkey with seasonings, parmesan cheese, bread crumbs, one small egg, and a jar of Heinz Fat Free Homestyle Turkey Gravy. The whole jar is around a hundred calories. They always came out delicate and moist... sooo good. It does add a…

I continue to honestly log whatever goes into my mouth during holiday (I'm on one now!). I like that it helps me to stay aware of what I'm consuming, plus my fantastic MFP pals can and will see if I'm going off a deep end, lol, which is another motivator to stay on track with my nutrition and fitness! I wear my Fitbit for…

I'll be starting the 30 Day Shred soon, and plan to wear my Polar Fit HRM the first few sessions to get my calorie burn because the MFP burns are too general and often reflect overinflated burns for activities.

Bump for more great ideas. I'm a frequent traveller heading on a long-haul trip tomorrow, and am packing four slices of whole wheat bread (to swap out with the airline's buns), two or three 2% fat cheese sticks (but I have taken the Babybel Light Cheese Rounds as well... the wax wrapping keeps them from squishing in the…

Wow, I had no idea there were so many ways to have eggs. I'm a basic poached, soft boiled (with soldiers), and over-easy kinda gal.

Bump! Great thread!

What a wonderful thread, and love that video! Like your T shirt says "That's AWESOME!". I think the important messages to take away are that fitness is a lifestyle, lifelong pursuit, and that support is SO important. Seeing your fantastic "real life" support team and walking buddies, and knowing that you also have so much…

I just ( a week ago ) flew from New Zealand to New York (total 23 hours of flying time on three planes) on Qantas, and the meals were fairly hefty... shepherd's pie, cheese-laden tortollini, cheesy frittata with sausage and minimal fresh veggies. The poor woman next to me was vegan and had forgotten to request a special…

Bump for more great ideas!

I usually exercise on an empty stomach, then eat my egg, toast and spinach (yeah, I'm wierd like that) afterwards. Then, it is a mini-meal about every 2-2 1/2 hours after that. If I'm very hungry on waking, I'll have a banana and wait fifteen minutes before getting started. Am curious about what others do, so thank you for…

Bumping to hear more responses. I have so many foods on my list that I've only eaten once, and would love to delete them! Thanks OP for asking a great question.

In for the excellent ideas on this thread. Bumping for more to come!

Thanks so much for posting this! I've not yet gotten my head 'round posting pics or gifs!

Thanks so much for the recipe... I made it, and ate the whole thing (massive amount of food for only 400 calories)! I used a vegetable peeler to slice the zucchini; but next time I think I'll use a knife so the layers are thicker. Yummy dish!

Bump to keep this topic going... always looking for appetizers myself! I find that "kebabs" tend to travel well, and disappear fast... I like to make mixed fruit skewers (just get the long bamboo skewers and chopped pineapple, kiwifruit, strawberries, grapes, whatever fruits you like!). Put a little Cool Whip (I use the…

Congratulations on the great deal you got on your rebounder! I use one too as a part of my fitness programme. What do you do on yours, and how do you calculate the calories burned? I either walk/jog (moderate intensity) or full-on run in intervals between "jumping rope" on it (no real rope). I wear a Heart Rate Monitor…

^^ This! 6-8 hours consistently is simply not enough sleep for me. I have found that, since adding 2-3 nights per week of 9-10 hours of sleep, I am far more energetic, desire naps less, and--frankly-- am less grumpy, lol!

Thanks so much for reminding all of us that we can improve the condition of our muscles using our own body weight. I'll be getting a copy of the book ASAP!
-
Thanks, all, for sharing these delicious recipes! I'll be trying them soon!

Agreed! When I started on my biking, I could only go about 2-3 minutes without being completely out of breath. But I kept it up, day after day (and even logged it, probably to the amusement of some of my MFP pals!). By the second week, I could do five to ten minutes, and as the weeks continued, the number of minutes I…

^^ This! My friends made so many comments about my logging that I've learned to either pre-log, to log whilst others are engaged in conversation with one another, and most often I jot down what I've eaten in a notepad for logging later. One thing is certain; I don't plan on stopping logging anytime soon, and could easily…

Bump to keep the great recipes coming!

Yes!

Loved this, especially the tips on fashion for specific body types! Thanks so much for sharing.

Thank you for this link to a brilliant site. Very sobering (pun intended)! I'll be sharing it with my MFP pals.

It's winter here, so time to start using these amazing healthy slow-cooker recipes. Thanks, everyone, for sharing your successful dishes!

^^ This! I would keep up with my exercise "days" for now until you get your maintenance calories sorted out. It is very easy to regain weight by going over maintenance calories by as little as 300-500 a day. Find out what your calorie intake should be in order to maintain whilst on a sustainable exercise programme (likely…

47, no kids (but love kids; I'm a teacher), never married. Prefer other people's kids (ones I can send home at the end of the day). Don't own any animals, but I think the neighbour's cat has adopted me since she hasn't gone home for two years, lol!

30 DS has been sitting on my shelf with the shrink-wrap still on for over two months due to my complete fear of the pain! Thanks, everyone, for your feedback. I'm starting to feel "ready" to open it up and begin. It helps to know that, with time, it gets better. I am sure I will alternate it with my every-other-day cardio,…

I did not use this method to lose my weight, however, as I'm still rather new to maintenance, I'm considering trying it for a few weeks to see if it works for me. I don't "binge" on weekends, but certainly do eat about 500 cals over my daily goal. Am trying this week to have two or three days with deficits during the week…
