The remake, or the 1972 original? I haven't seen the remake, but the original is really f*cking disturbing.

Cannibal Holocaust I watch a LOT of horror, but this movie creeped me the heck out with some of the animal scenes.

Try cutting it out completely for 30 days, and see how you feel. It might not make any difference, but it could (depends what your general health is like). I've never had a doctor suggest cutting out wheat to help with anything, but it makes a huge difference to how I feel. I find that it helps me with asthma and menstrual…

Once you get over the bread thing, it's not hard. I've been eating mostly paleo for a few years, and have found some unexpected benefits, probably based more just on cutting out the grains than anything else. I have almost zero asthma symptoms and a steep reduction in PMS/cramps. Good luck!

Ooh me! I don't cosplay (yet), but I sew costume bits for my son who does. I have other hobbies that include costumes though, dressing up makes everything more fun! I'm also an old school gaming geek :)

I'm totally the same. I lose all control when there's baked sweets in the house or fresh baked bread. I'm finding that it's easier to just cut the carbs right out (the grain and sugar variety).

I think it's awesome that she can be that fit after having three babies, but not everyone has the same situation that she does. Lots of women don't have the same drive, the same knowledge about fitness, some/any support system, and many women suffer from post-partum. I do think that the statement added to her picture is…

When I used to go to the gym all the time, I was using up to 35lb dumbbells, which isn't even super big! And my arms certainly didn't get huge... You'd think they'd hire people who had a clue about fitness.

I do low-carb. Mostly I have bacon and eggs for breakfast; a big salad at lunch with dark leafy greens, cheese or other protein, pumpkin seeds, and an oil and vinegar dressing; for dinner I make pork chops or chicken legs with roasted or boiled veggies with butter on them. Dessert is often frozen berries with a bit of…

I eat chocolate semi-regularly anyways, I just keep it to ONLY those that are 70% or higher cocoa. They're not sweet and they have lower carbs/calories than a regular chocolate bar. As far as eating *more* carbs during or before shark week, consider going lower instead. I'm doing low-carb/wheat-free and while normally I…

You mention that your siblings are heavy, are your parents as well? It could be that they're jealous of your success or that they think that you are trying to change to be "less like the family" so they feel threatened. Sometimes heavier friends or family try to keep you from succeeding at eating healthy because they miss…

Hallowe'en isn't about being provocative.. unless of course you're being sexy with some good gore makeup for shock value. Hallowe'en is all about scary stuff, black cats, witches, ghouls :) That's way the hell more interesting.

Good luck with your journey this time. I'm doing the keto diet, so I certainly understand trying to work with heavily restricted carbs. The first week was a huge learning curve, but now, on day 35 or so, I'm well in the swing of things. I'm very much a carb addict, so for me cutting out grains and sugar *completely* makes…

Dress up costumes? My cousins had a big trunk full of them when i was a kid, and we all had a lot of fun pretending we were different people. My Aunt put all the old halloween costumes in there and some cool props.

In moderation it's likely okay. Soy is a source of phytoestrogen, which can act just like regular estrogen in your body (breast growth and an increased chance of getting breast cancer). Also, soy is one of the most genetically modified crops grown in the world, so there is a lot of concerns about that too.

Some great advice from commenters in this thread already, but I wanted to share some of my motivation with you too. In my family there runs diabetes, thyroid problems and heart disease. I have two children, and I don't want to be yet another family member on piles of drugs for things that I can help avoid! I want to be…

Don't worry about getting a partner until you have yourself in a better spot. If you use a woman as a "quick fix" (even not on purpose), then you'll just be in a bad spot when that ends, maybe a worse spot. Maybe look into joining a group in your area that gets together to *do* something that you're interested in. The gym…

43 year old Canadian here. I have an 19 and a 21 year old and am enjoying how much easier it is to lose weight when I don't have to cook for the whole family. Anyone is welcome to add me :)

Honestly, while asking here might be good for getting some options, talk to your doctor about the best option for *you*. Every type of BC carries some kind of risk, as does getting pregnant, but the only person who can give you GOOD advice about what would potentially suit your body best is a medical professional. (what…

2013 has been the worst year I've ever experienced, consequently I put on some previously lost weight and stopped exercising. I signed up for MFP 28 days ago and have lost 12 lbs so far. I feel a lot more in control of things now, so I'm aiming for my "end goal" of 125lbs, which is what I weighed when I got pregnant with…

Sadly, on work days (I currently work in retail), I am so freaking tired by the time i get home that there is no way that I can do any exercise. On non-work days, I hike. :)
