  • Hope your kitties are doing ok. I have 2 cats as well, but they're pretty easy going. We moved them on Saturday and they already seem pretty comfortable with the house, just a little extra snuggly right now.
  • Good morning! I've updated the spreadsheet for milestone 8. Closed on my house yesterday!!!!!!!!!! Went out to eat to celebrate, so I have a little water weight today, but not as bad as I was expecting. We're moving on Saturday, so still a lot of chaos in my life right now. Hoping it will settle down quickly, so that I can…
  • I just eat one or two pieces a day until its gone. I log it and all is well. Logging it prevents me from overeating the candy because I know how many calories each piece is worth. Not going to eat more than I log when it's so calorie dense.
  • Recalculate every 10 lbs. I say that, but I usually forget and then recalculate when my weight loss seems to slow down (about 15-20lbs lost).
  • Are you doing TDEE (eating the same number of calories everyday) or NEAT (base calories, then adding exercise)? If TDEE, lower your intake by 100 calories a week until you start losing again. If NEAT, try eating back fewer of your exercise calories. Calorie calculators can overestimate your burn levels for exercise. If you…
  • Ate way too much candy yesterday. Wow is my weight through the roof! This week is going to be crazy. We're closing on the house on Wednesday and moving on Saturday. Add in an important presentation at work this week and it's the perfect storm of stress. I know we'll be eating a lot of convenience food and out to eat this…
  • Good morning! Doing better today. Hit my goals yesterday. I'm going to try to go for my 2 mile run tonight before church. Goals for today: 1. stay within calories 2. 12k steps 3. 2 mile run
  • @danelutza19 that cake looks amazing!!
  • Good morning! Not doing great weight wise. I ended up going home sick yesterday. I have a condition that pops up every 5-6 years (triggered by stress, so I'm sure it's all related to the house stuff) and it comes with exhaustion and a low grade fever. So I ended up sleeping and then eating because I was starving. Way over…
  • Good morning! Long, busy day yesterday, but I hit my goals. My weight is still way up from the weekend and hoping to see a big drop soon. Goals for today: 1. stay within calories 2. 12k steps 3. strength training
  • Go for endurance instead of speed. It's better to be able to walk slower for longer than to walk fast for only 5 minutes. Speed will come naturally as your fitness improves. Interval training is great, but its for more advanced workouts. Beginner basics is to build endurance.
  • Stuck to my goals yesterday. Had a rough week last week, but this week will be back on track. Moving forward. Goals for today: 1. stay within calories 2. 12k steps 3. TRX class
  • The spreadsheet has been updated!
  • TGIF! I hit my calorie goal yesterday, but didn't get my steps done or my workout. Friday's usually my rest day, so I'm just going to switch the workout to today. My fitbit battery is running low and I don't have my charger on me, so I might have to estimate steps today. I'll charge it when I get home, but I might miss my…
  • Good afternoon! Happy St. Patrick's Day!! My weight is way up, but that was expected. It'll drop in a day or two. I have corned beef and cabbage at my mom's tonight, so I may not get my workout in. I'll try to get my steps and some stretching done anyway. Goals for today: 1. stay within calories 2. 12k steps 3. 2 mile run…
  • Good morning! I hit my steps yesterday, went for a good run, and ate way too much food. It was so good. We went to a ramen noodle place and then to a bakery. Amazing! My tummy isn't happy with me this morning. I don't know how I used to be able to eat like this all the time. I just can't do it any more. We're hitting a…
  • Mine's always up in a bun for working out, but it has enough texture to it that it doesn't come out easily.
  • Water weight, food in your system, not pooping for a few days, etc can all lead to higher scale weight. It doesn't mean you aren't losing. Weight loss just isn't linear because there is so much noise in the data. Look at your trend over time. That's far more important than any individual weight.
  • My current workout regime is this: M - TRX class (or strength training if I can't go) T - 3 mile run W - strength/rest T - 2 mile run and yoga F - rest S - strength & cross training S - long run Mine always looks somewhat similar. Usually 3 days of running and 3 days of strength. Yoga, cross training, and a complete rest…
  • You're assuming that 2425 is maintenance. What are your stats? It's impossible to tell anything without that.
  • I try not to focus on weight loss being my measurement for success. Obviously, sometimes I get down about it if I'm not losing, but I really do try to not focus on weight. Instead, I focus on daily goals. I have daily behaviors that I must do in order to be successful. These behaviors will lead to weight loss, but my…
  • Morning! Yesterday went well. My weight has gone way up for no good reason. Ugh. Anyway, today is a no counting day for me. I'm going to try to enjoy myself, but not go hog wild. We'll see... Goals for today: 1. 12k steps 2. 3 mile run
  • So I'm feeling a little defeated today, can I share a scale victory? I'm getting close to a normal BMI. I'll be "normal" when I hit 140.5 and I'm currently sitting around 145. I just need a little motivation to keep me going, so I started pulling together some pics. I've decided that I'm going to post them in the main…
  • Congrats @CourtLloyd! That's really inspiring for me. I'm going to run my first 10k this year too! Jumping to a half is a huge step up. Good luck!
  • I don't track on vacations, but I try to be reasonable and be active. We plan our vacations around food. But with that being said, I try to eat a "normal" meal for two meals of the day and will indulge for the third. I know that I can't go hog wild at every eating opportunity or I will feel sick (and gain weight, but…
  • I keep a small deficit. That's the only way for me to continue being a runner, lose weight, and not murder everyone from the hangries. I'm losing 0.5 lb a week, but it's progress. I could lose faster, but I would have to be less active and that's not the lifestyle that I want to develop.
  • Labeling food as "bad" would be completely detrimental to me (and many others from what we see posted on the forums daily) because: eating "bad" food --> guilt --> shame --> closet eating --> more shame --> unhealthy relationships with food. Understanding that I can fit those foods into my diet while trying to hit my…
  • Good morning! I hit my goals yesterday. Yoga last night was fabulous! Goals for today: 1. stay within calories 2. 12k steps 3. rest
