  • A little late checking in today, but better late than never. It's a crazy week this week at work, but I'll try to check in if I can. I hit my goals yesterday. Went on a nice, cold run. Have had a good day so far today, so should hit my goals again. Goals for today: 1. stay within calories 2. 12k steps 3. strength training
  • Please make sure you have your starting weight and goal into the spreadsheet. I will be doing the official sort tonight (alphabetical) and assigning ID numbers. People can still add up until the first milestone day, but the sheet will not be resorted after tonight. Also, you can edit your weight loss goal until milestone 1.

  • Every SAHM is going to be different. Some will sit most of the day, others will be active. The only person who knows where you fall on that spectrum is you. Pick a setting that you think describes you and go with it for a month or so. If you're not losing at the rate you should, consider adjusting it. Make sure you give it…
  • Starvation mode is a myth. Refer to the Minnesota Starvation Experiment. Every single participant on starvation rations lost significant weight. Your body will lose weight if you eat less than you burn for 100% of the population. http://jn.nutrition.org/content/135/6/1347.full.pdf+html
  • +1 I use a fitbit and have it linked to MFP. I set my calorie goal to my BMR and disabled negative adjustments simply because I don't want to eat below my BMR even on an off day. I do this understanding that if I have a lazy day, I'll lose a little slower that week. But you can avoid that by enabling the negative calories…
  • How long has it been since you've lost weight? I also agree with the above poster that if you haven't recalculated your calorie goal, it's past time. You should recalculate every 10lbs lost. Lastly, refer to the nifty flow chart below:
  • You can find a good food scale for $10-15 dollars on Amazon. I highly suggest you scrape anything you can together to get one. It's the best investment in your health you can ever make. Weight loss happens in the kitchen. You need to be accurate in your food logging or you won't lose. You also need to make sure that you…
  • Hi Chloe! I put your information into the sheet. Hope your laptop is revived soon!
  • I lost weight, but I also had a really bad stomach bug and couldn't keep anything down for a day and could barely eat for a week. So I would normally have had a small water weight bump, but come out the other side unharmed.
  • bump. There's still time to join!
  • Found a calorie amount that I could live with and used that. The rate is a little slower than I would have liked (not anymore, but when I started), but being able to stick with it long term is more important than losing quickly short term and then quitting.
  • You'd be better off doing kegels instead.
  • I have 30DS and Ripped in 30. Like them both. It's a good, get it done quick workout if you are low on time. I also used them when I was on vacation and didn't have access to the gym or when it's too cold to run outside. I have no issues with her workouts. I don't recommend the diet books. I've never read them, so I can't…
  • Check this out: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1161603/so-you-want-a-nice-stomach/p1 I remember reading that @usmcmp is a mom, so it can be done. With a lot of work and a lot of patience.
  • What most people do is use the recipe function. Make a recipe, weighing your ingredients the best you can as you go. Weigh the finished product (tare a container on the scale & dump into it) so you can figure out how many grams/serving you have. Or some people will put the total weight of the finished product (in grams) as…
  • That's a good way to lose too much muscle mass. If you don't eat back your calories, you'll lose faster than you should. Losing too fast causes you to lose muscle mass since your body can only metabolize a certain amount of fat everyday. Obviously, this all depends on how far under your net calories you are everyday. 100…
  • No need to be that strict with your food plan. Variety is the spice of life and you'll get bored eating that way and just give up. The way you should plan your day is to focus on these things in this order: 1. calories (you can eat it if it fits your calories goal). I tend to know about how many calories I want to eat at…
  • I save 200 or so calories so that I can have a snack after dinner. It's usually something sweet, but it depends on what I feel like that day. Sometimes it'll be chips or popcorn instead. Knowing that I can have something awesome at the end of the day if I'm "good" (meaning I stay in my calorie goal and do well with my…
  • I usually go with either a rum & diet coke or a cranberry juice & vodka. Both are reasonable for calories and I only have one or two. Sometimes I'll get a glass of wine instead.
  • I donate them when they are ridiculously too big for me. I usually end up keeping one size up because they are still "wearable", but at 2 sizes up, they look stupidly big. So they go to donations.
  • Invest in a good cold weather base layer. Underarmour or Nike are my go to.
  • My body counts those calories, so I do too.
  • Yup. First thing in the morning, every morning, naked, after toileting. Then I hop into the shower and get ready for the day.
  • Skip the diet pills. They can range anywhere from useless to harmful. Please don't take them. 1 meal a day is fine if that works for you. Some people would prefer to eat once a day and stuff themselves because they like that full feeling rather than eating a little all day. It is a form of intermittent fasting, so read up…
  • I walk at lunch. I either go outside, or if the weather is bad/too cold, I do laps around the building. A lot of other people do the same thing.
  • I've been on birth control the whole time I've been losing the 65 lbs I've lost. Take the pill and count your calories. The weight will come off just fine.
  • Good morning! I had a great day yesterday! I think I'm finally over that stupid stomach bug. I hit my goals and even ran 2 miles. I didn't want to go too far in case I couldn't make it, but I ended the run feeling great! Goals for today: 1. stay within calories (going out to eat tonight....) 2. 10k steps 3. strength…
  • Happy Birthday @deejkush !!
