Very busy today and saving my pennies for a holiday to Scotland at the end of the month, so my diary today looks DREADFUL! But I did get FitBit calories for walking miles to and form work and at lunchtime. Plus I did some core and upper body resistance this evening, feet still too hurty for any impact! At the mercy of a…

I'm a Londoner and a journalist, and can't say I've ever been pressured or questioned when I don't fancy drinking and just have a Coke or something. But I agree that avoiding a bar-based date is your best option. If you're going for a meal, try no-alcohol restaurants so it's not even an option. Tayyab's in Whitechapel…

Stress fractures are possible. I thought I had them but the doctor told me it was inflamed joints. Worth getting checked out. You may need different shoes for workouts than running - running shoes have no lateral support for sideways motions like star jumps, and running on the spot is a completely different action to…

Good morning bare belly babes! Last night I had sore ankles form running over uneven terrain on Sunday so I went for something low-impact and was recommended Jillian Michael's Yoga Meltdown. Coretastic! I'll see how they're holding up tonight, but I may go for a swim then do some ab work. I linked my account to Facebook…

Just over 10 cals a minute is probably about right for working hard at your age and weight, and if you didn't do a warm-up beforehand remember your heart rate still takes a while to get to its peak even during a hard, fast workout.

I had a giant wholemeal bap for lunch with real butter, bacon and avocado. At 552 calories, I could eat three a day and still lose weight. Stay under your calorie goal and you'll lose weight. Be sensible about eating a balanced diet and you'll stay healthy.

Alternatively, walk and/or run round the park in different directions. When you meet halfway, "tag" and go back the opposite way. Each interval will take you both the same time, just the faster one covers more ground.

Join a local all-abilities running club. I was always one of the slower runners in my group and they found ways for people of different speeds to do different circuits and all end up together to catch their breath. Takes the pressure off both of you and you can both push yourself just as hard as you want.

You are stunning and inspiring, great job! :flowerforyou:

Get ones labelled running tights (Ron Hill, Karrimor etc.) rather than fashion brand leggings (Nike Adidas etc.). They will have a tie waist plus elastic, and a useful key pocket.
-
Google aqua dumbbells (Amazon sell a selection). You use them like regular dumbbells but in reverse - they float so your pushing against gravity going down instead of up.
-
I swear by Karrimor running gear, about the cheapest tech range you can get. Unless you spend a lot, don't expect anything to be 100% waterproof in really heavy rain, though. For cold, layering is your friend. I use a microfleece over a t-shirt.

Change the upper case IMG to lower - [ img ] at the beginning and [ /img ] at the end, but without the spaces.

Wow, one of my favourite transformations and stories, great job!

Hi and welcome! I wrote a blog post about building up to doing full push-ups after I suffered a shoulder injury, some of these in-between variants might help. The having your feet further apart thing works well seeing as you can't kneel:…

Tonight's the night! Could have done without my bum having been roundly attacked by mozzies the day before I expose it to the world for the first time :ohwell:

Fantastic progress, thanks for letting us know, keep up the good work! :flowerforyou:

Are you following a plan? I'd suggest you take a couple of rest days and add in strength training/stretching to prevent injury. Certainly when your runs get longer your legs will be very tired the next day. Hal Higdon's plans are awesomely beginner friendly and come highly recommended.…

Or conversely the folk who do four-hour workouts may be filling the time they have available without sacrifices. Those of us who don't have that sort or time on our hands prioritise the workouts we need to do to achieve our goals for the lesser time we have available.

I think you're aiming to do too much at once, and you certainly don't need to run more than three times a week to train for a 10K. Try something like this. No epic sessions required. Mon - Rest/stretching Tue - Weights and core Wed - Run intervals Thu - Weights and core Fri - Run tempo Sat - Weights and core Sun - Long run…

I do exactly the same hours as you. During the week, my options are a) quick workout before dinner b) run at lunchtime and baby-wipe shower at work (we don't have showers) or c) get up early. c) seldom happens but at least I have my gear packed to do a) or b) instead! A couple of nights a week, make your gym/workout time…

I log Leslie Sansone DVDs as walking at 4mph as that's the pace she gets you to step at and the extra movements make up the difference from walking outside.

They're quite strong and slightly bitter - an acquired taste. Best boiled and mashed with lots of butter, or diced and added to winter stews and soups.

Welp, I'm committed now (committed? I should be!), it's next Thursday: https://www.justgiving.com/BereniceBaker/ While celebrating the body in all its shapes and sizes, I looked at last year's photos and scared myself silly at the reality of 300 naked people all in one place!

Move to London. Everyone would be too shy to engage you in conversation and share your personal information even if you whispered, "I just murdered my neighbour."

I'm a heavy runner with high arches and wide feet. I wear Brooks Green Silence (unisex) in wide fitting, which are sold as racing shoes but are incredibly light and comfy. There's also room for insoles of you feel you need something even squishier, but they seem as soft as many labelled "cushioned" without them. I've worn…

Treat it like weightloss on MFP. Stick a chart of your savings on the fridge. See it go up (in green pen) week on week when you save, then see it go down (in red pen) every time he withdraws extra. I'd also make your savings account a dual-signature withdrawal.
