what exactly do people mean when they say weak knees ?? ... if knees could weaken or be made stronger then there would be a stupid machine at the gym that could be used I do not understand why running 3 miles would be Ok but running say 3.5 would not - again if you are only strong enough to run 3 miles - running 3 miles a…

The US National Kettle championships in Aug ! I hope to compete with a 20KG kettle bell and make my CMS ranking - I`m busting my *kitten* at moment training but I doubt my workouts would help many others !! lol

consult a doctor - you may have deeper scar tissue that can be broken down with massage or other treatments
-
Time to break up with your trainer ! not every trainer is right for every client and vice versa - find one that wants to train you they way you want to train - you will likely find that a male trainer will fall over himself to get you as a client if you want to lift. Interview prospective trainers and make sure they are a…

you added too much running to fast and your IT bands are tightening up - google IT band stretches and foam roll the living **** out of those things
-
i will disagree with people who say 20lbs is too heavy - any lighter and you will be lifting the bell not swinging it - if the swings caused you back pain you are not doing them correctly - there are plenty of videos out there of people doing piss poor kettle bell form - Jillian Micheals springs to mind - My advice - find…

yeah my coach already called me a ***** about the 8 mins !! - In my defense - I had been recruited 3.5 weeks before that event so limited training in competition style - which also explains my less than perfect form !! I`m working up to the 20KG for the next event in Aug - The style is quite different from what is…

I feel so bad for many women I see posting here who are discouraged by male gym goers. I must live in utopia - all the guys I work out around are either awesome or really could not care less if I`m there unless they need the bar / weights I`m using - I can honestly say I have never heard a negative word from any of them -…

probably not - sweating is your body cooling - as you get fitter your body gets better at cooling - I think I sweat more now that iI did before I got into shape
-
find a kettle bell class - learn good form and figure out the weight you need. 8kg is the lightest you`ll need - seriously my coaches 2 year old daughter can pick up his 8 kg bell a grown woman should be able to

black workout pants and suck it up buttercup :)

never .. EVER .. walking in front of someone working with a kettle bell - I can not count how many people I have almost killed ...and it freaks the living **** out of me

I don`t really do pictures but I had no athletic background in school or through my 20s / 30s - I was over 40 when I took stock and decided something needed to be done - I started lifting weights and running. I was lucky enough to be introduced to kettle bells by a serious trainer and fell in love with them as a workout…

Well I don`t HAVE to go to the gym - and I go - sometimes twice a day - so yes I would go even if I didn`t have to I love my training program. my trainer and the coach I work with - I have serious goals and I love that I have people supporting me and helping reach those goals
-
My general cardio workouts are 3 mile runs !! - After I was done with all that I ran 3 miles - Honestly what is limiting me right now if my grip - my forearms were fried when I was done - I still feel really fortunate to have a great coach !

that is not enough base you will hurt yourself

what has your running regime been like in the past 4 - 6 weeks ?

F / 48 Deadlift 250 5 set x 5 reps Squat 187 3 x 3 bench - Haven`t benched in a LONG time but last time 125 3 x 3 Goal - keep getting better !! I`m training right now for the UK Kettlebell lifting nationals so I am doing more dynamic lifts - higher reps lower weight -

All of sudden this week people started commenting - but I think they noticed a while ago - I guess I`m about 30 lbs down since Jan
-
I try and do them back to back if I have 2 work outs to get in - however I only end up doing that when I`m training for an event - then it`s 1 hour of specific training for that event and 40 mins of cardio - if I have to split them up I try and avoid the need to shower - if I have to shower it`s 5 mins
-
it depends - when I am not training for something - no more than hour if I`m doing weights - I work with a trainer so the work out is quite focused, or 45 mins of cardio I just got back onto a cycle of training for my next lifting event so as of this week the intensity has been upped - it will be 3 days a week of specific…

check out books on heart rate training - when I started to get fit I walked briskly for months before I started to try running - 4mph is a weird speed - it`s that point where walking is harder that jogging - walk slower - to once you start to get out of breath - slow down until you recover and speed up again Maybe think…

They could at least give out good candy

I`m not small - by any stretch of the imagination. And I certainly have no athletic background - I did no sports in school etc. I was over 40 when I started to work out. I have done a few things I am quite proud of since then - I ran a marathon, I completed a triathlon. I got to the point where I thought maybe I have a…

and you should be !! - well done ! ... now - go get the 24 :)

Kettlebell competitions are reps over a set time - MOSTLY 10 mins - there are some competitions that use the 5 min option but that is not common The events are usually snatch only Long cycle - which is a clean and jerk biathlon which is the total of 2 events - jerk and snatch - the jerk only is not usually a free standing…

let me translate this - you ate crap and slobbed out for a couple of days - you feel guilty so you are blaming someone who was looking to keep herself busy at a quiet time in work by getting a jump on something You over ate - you didn't work out - your actions - your consequences - take responsibility You have 2 choices -…
-
why ? is this for a police or Army test ? 6.5 mph is not slow - it`s not a dead sprint - but it will need work - I would suggest the c25k and once you are at 3 miles you will need to start working on your pace
-
I`m 30lbs heavier that you but Squat 187lb Dead lift 250lb bench - hmm - 135 ish - haven`t done bench presses in a while I`m also on a competitive kettle bell lifting team and compete in the snatch - competition results 136 reps with the 16KG ( 35 lb ) Feel free to add me if you wish
-
Thanks ! I`m excited about starting to compete - it`s a whole other form of kettle bell work !
