I have a difficult time getting enough protein in while staying under my calories, so I have a scoop (30 grams of protein and 170 calories) or 2 of protein powder daily.

I totally feel your pain. I joined MFP because of all the weight I gained when I quit smokking. I wouldnt worry about the rate .. its progress not perfection and quitting is definitely a big step down the road to healthy living. Good luck!

I am alwasy looking for MFP friends to keep me motivated, so an open invite to add me it you would like. I have logged every day for like 100 days, and have lost 35ish lbs -- only about half way there. If I can make it this far anyone can. Just remember it progress toward our goal not perfection that we strive for.

Welcome and good luck! MFP and logging my food/calories daily has been truely enlightening and has really helped me. The good news is the stytle North Carolina BBQ sauces are low calorie. And the pulled pork is high in protein, not too bad in other things. The sides always get me, so my solution is more meat.

This is so me. I Joined a gym and started exercising in July, 2 months later I was in the gym for about 2 hours a day 5 days a week.
