Easy answer. You don’t have to kick start your metabolism with an early breakfast. Old wives tale.

Caffeine is a stimulant drug and may be interfering with your goals. Caffeine works by encouraging the release of adrenaline. https://science.howstuffworks.com/caffeine4.htm What follows is a “downer” when the adrenaline is used up. You end up chasing the high with another shot of caffeine. But you will never get the same…

Well if drugs are off the table what is left is food. Make a list of foods you find appealing. Stock your fridge and pantry and carry the sturdier food items with you at all times. You might also try making up a protein shake with extra oil blended up to sip on through the day. I agree with another poster to eat small…

I think you are well on your way to figuring this out. You might want to do some reading on “All or Nothing Thinking”. And how you might recover faster from a slip-up. If you love your sweets find a way to incorporate them without taking over your day. You might have a ritual for instance to end your dinner with a dessert.…

So you are vegan first, thinking of going Keto. I consider these two diets to be mutually incompatible. Vegan is going to depend on more carbs for energy sources. Pulses are valuable sources of protein, which would automatically eliminate themselves from the keto diet because of their carb content. So what do you have…

If it’s not hunger, it could be habit. Consider replacing the habit. I like hand busy activities like knitting.

And, meatless options such as all the pulses, and Tofu?

It’s all about how much fat is incorporated in the meat. A lean pork cutlet will have as much calories ounce for ounce as chicken. Use the power of MFP to measure out portions that fit in to your calorie goals and you will be fine. And, lamb?

I love energy bites too. Keep in mind they are calorie bombs so track accordingly. I find that proportion matters. Too much sticky stuff and they are too sticky. Not enough sticky stuff and they fall apart. These use almonds for the protein instead of peanut butter:…

The ready made vegetarian meat replacements are bland. Like tofu hot dogs, and veggie burgers. I figure you are destined to fail if you try to make veggies replace North American meaty fare. Foods are better off if you honour the natural flavours and textures they bring to the table. And borrowing vegetarian dishes from…

I care! It’s been six months but grateful nevertheless that you got back to us. Just goes to show it pays to check out odd symptoms. Glad your kidneys are OK now. We all do better with healthy kidneys.

Yes it can be done. I had a paper route for two years where we got up at 3:30 in the morning. That meant getting to bed at 8:30 but after a couple months the new routine was natural.
-
Alternate. That way you get the trace from both options.

Is anyone at all being supportive? How about switching to maintenance for six months to see how that feels? Seventy pounds is a remarkable achievement and it would be great if you could maintain this for a while so you get used to your new lighter body. How about adding a new activity?

How much salt you need depends on where you live. In hot climates without air conditioning a lot of salt is lost through sweat. Added salt is necessary in these climates. If you have high blood pressure watch your salt intake. If you have low blood pressure increase your salt.

Best - is relative. Rev Up - through exercise, not food. Promote weight loss - eat less. I suggest you drink a full glass of water then go for a twenty minute run. After an invigorating shower, have yourself any breakfast that makes you happy. It could be my favourite which right now is oatmeal with apple butter and Greek…

The best tasting protein balls I’ve ever made, and super easy. The crispy cereal makes them a little lighter than some store bought bars. https://pin.it/yyywkvqivcsrgw

When I don’t want to cook I make myself this shake. http://www.grouprecipes.com/142964/simple-soylent.html

I buy whey protein isolate from bulk barn and make my own shakes. For sweetening I use half and half sugar and artificial sweetener. I flavour with cocoa or sugar free syrups; hazelnut right now. For thickening I like a banana, yogurt, and just a half teaspoon of canthan gum. Shakes are not low calorie. They are meal…

Would you move to Grande Cache? Weather changes hourly.

With planning you can do a lot of the cooking at home which will save a lot. Buy meats whatever is on sale, roast them, then use the drippings/ bones as stock for soups and stews. Plain oatmeal is about as cheap as you can get and it can be dressed up many ways. Root vegetables and cabbages keep better than leafy greens.…

Give yourself 100 calorie snacks. I was least hungry at lunch so I would have salad or soup, which typically comes out lower calorie. Salad bloats you so soup it is. These two adjustments allow you a heartier breakfast and dinner, if that’s what you like.

The approved FODMAP list is a lot shorter than the forbidden list. So come up with some simple meals and do a lot of repeats. Boring, but you need simple right now. Breakfast: oatmeal with lactose free milk or a substitute, or eggs. Lunch: tuna or chicken flakes with a green salad and tomatoes, no onion. Dinner: brown rice…

Do you swear off clowns after watching a horror movie? I find fear to be a terrible motivator. It makes for emotional and rash decisions. I suggest looking up alternate views of that scary “documentary” so you have a full picture on what sugar can do for you. Everyone can make healthier choices every day and picking a…

Making a brown roux. This keeps very well and simplifies thickening sauces and stews. https://theculinarycook.com/roux-what-it-is-how-to-use-it/

When I make a batch of stock or flavour enhancers I freeze it in ice cube trays. That way it doesn’t go bad mouldering in the back of the fridge and is available whenever I need it.

I deliberately picked techniques that take time, not skill. The slow cooker is the key. Reduced sauces do take watching over but wow, what an improvement over starch thickened sauces.
