Do you consider tofu to be processed?

Iron is pretty indestructible. If it’s in the food you’ll get it. Here are some more tips. - Are you watching Folic Acid? Now is the time to make sure you are getting enough. - Cook with the Lucky Iron Fish and have iron in every rice and pasta dish. - Cast Iron adds a small amount of iron to the meal. - Iron absorbs…

Appropriate portions might come as a surprise to you. Use a food scale and weigh all your portions.

Air popped popcorn.

Being ravenous once in a while is a sign you aren’t getting enough all around. Add full fat dressing to your salads. Try drinking whole milk with your meals.

The first thing I would check is if the food entries are complete, including all the vitamins. User entered foods at a minimum must show total calories but users don’t have to list the vitamins and minerals. Carrots or other orange veggies for vitamin A, and citrus fruits for your vitamin C. Keep enjoying your red meat for…

Dizzy is serious. It could be: Low blood sugar. Low blood pressure. A mini stroke. https://www.webmd.com/brain/dizziness-vertigo If you don’t want to walk around with a crash helmet on your head, get this checked out.

MFP will track sugar from all sources and IMHO it is set too low. I think we benefit from eating fruits and it seems silly to cut them out just to keep the sugar low.

The ADA plate visualization was the most useful tool for me starting out. http://www.diabetes.org/food-and-fitness/food/planning-meals/create-your-plate/ Luckily your fiber goals fit in nicely with your diabetic goals. Half your plate will be vegetables.

Provably false. I am acquainted with a powerful woman, goalie on her hockey league, living with a sleep disorder. She is plenty strong.

I got a hazelnut sugar free syrup (like the torani syrups the baristas use). I add this to my shake if I get bored. If you see a recipe you like just sub a fruit you can eat. Experiment.

I think you would enjoy Habit by Duhigg. It will give you insights in to the reward cycle. Find some alternatives to the food reward. Mental resistance just makes obsessions stronger. The trick is to diminish and redirect. Diminish - it’s only food. Redirect - what other rewards are you missing out on? Look forward to…

Family members are saying these things, right? They are dead wrong. You are beautiful and you eat properly. Look in to how to set boundaries with people. How you eat and what your body looks like is your personal business and is off limits. It might seem difficult to stop family members from behaving badly but there are…

How about doing laps at the pool? Inexpensive home equipment include water jugs (the ones with handles), stairs, and resistance bands. https://www.sportchek.ca/categories/shop-by-sport/fitness/training/resistance.html YouTube videos for ideas.

It took a couple days but I just made up a big batch of refried beans, starting with dried pinto beans. I’ve wrapped it up in a whole wheat taco a couple times this week.

False dichotomy. Weight loss happens when you eat less than your daily calorie requirement. This can be done dozens of ways. The danger with nutrition shakes is that it is far too easy to over consume your calories, without the tactile and sensory pleasures that come with real food.

Hors D’oeuvres. For vegetables I find a general entry for crudités. Raw vegetables are about the same calorie wise. I suggest you decide going in how many hors d’ouevres you will take. It’s the dips, cheeses and the deep fried dainties that will get you.

It’s a big deal to face this. Bravo. Many people confuse important with urgent. It is very important for your health to lose the extra weight. It cannot be taken off quickly. I suggest treating every day as a new start, and hang your success on good choices. Did you skip seconds? Did you log all your meals? Keep notes on…

Healthy to me is a vigorous cardiovascular system that puts pink in my cheeks and a spring in my step.

You need to get past the idea that you are trapped. There’s a middle way. Just refuse to bail him out any more. Give him fair warning (30 days). He can still have your love and care - by appointment - over dinner - his treat. If he is spoiled beyond recovery he’ll disappear. If he does, consider it a win.

I take a multivitamin on doctors orders and specific vitamins to prevent deficiencies. Some vitamins and minerals can be overdone. Do you have any deficiency you are hoping to address? Young women of childbearing age should take Folic Acid. Anyone in the northern hemisphere is likely low in Vitamin D.

Check out the winged bean.

Spirulina pills. All beans and legumes are good but they also come with carbs.

Have a spotter. This exercise has Darwin Awards written all over it.

Group therapy helped me the most. I get a different perspective, ideas I haven’t considered before, and the observation that there are people way worse off than I am. When I spiral in to destructive thought patterns, I hear my therapists gentle voice offering that there might be a better way.

Heck all nuts are overgrown seeds. Corn, too.
