  • If you have adjusted your macros in favour of one (say, protein) it gets harder. It is difficult to live solely off egg whites and skinless chicken breast. It is easier to hit your macros if you balance out every meal and snack. Trying to fill in with a single macro snack at the end of the day can be challenging and may…
  • Try a little olive oil and pepper. Simples. Eating single, I’d take half the cooked squash and stuff it in muffin tins (swirl them with a fork to make little nests) and freeze it. When solid, pop them out of the tins and store the single servings in a freezer bag. I have silicone muffin tins so frozen foods pop right out.…
  • It resolves when you move out on your own. When your mom goes off on one of her snipes look off in to the distance and build your fantasy independent life. Furnish your fantasy home. Pick out the posh nursing home you will install your mom in. Does your mom have a degree?
  • As a T2 diabetic I am aware of where the sugars (and carbs) are in all my food. It’s virtually impossible to eliminate and starchy carbs are just a short chain different from table sugar anyways. So I don’t bother trying to rid myself of all of it. I watch my portions and surround all my meals with as many macros as…
  • Do you have any non weight related goals and dreams? How do you make sure it happens? It takes similar skills to undertake a weight loss plan. Set small achievable goals and monitor progress. I suggest behavioural goals rather than using the scale. For instance, have a salad instead of fries with your lunch for a week.…
  • Pool work. You can jog laps in the pool without putting weight on your feet. The water provides added resistance. Stretches help. I would stretch out my foot all day if any twinges came up. I’d stretch before I put my foot down in the morning. Losing significant weight finally resolved it.
  • Keep a diary and note your successes. Those will be repeats. Introduce one veggie a week. Google recipes. Buy very small quantities and eat it quickly. Old veggies are a waste and will leave you with bad memories. Nice dips can help like sriracha, cheese whiz and ranch dressing. I can’t think of any decent takeout veggies…
  • Diet sodas provide enough mouth feel to keep me from eating food. Diet soda is a helpful tool in my weight loss toolbox.
  • That’s not my personal definition of clean but you may find success googling five ingredient recipes. Beans and legumes of all kinds cook up nicely. Steak is course would be clean according to your definition. For your starchy side you may try rice or quinoa. This is my favourite way to make rice now.…
  • One child a week. Not four days a week with the children running amok in the kitchen.
  • Oh! I forgot. Give a night a week to each of your children to plan dinner. Involving children in the kitchen gets them interested in food choices.
  • Yes, having too many choices can freeze you in to indecision. It’s a thing. https://www.ted.com/talks/sheena_iyengar_choosing_what_to_choose/up-next?language=en Here’s tips on how to break it down simply. Have a short list of family favourites that you enjoy every week. Four or five recipes. It could be Taco Tuesday for…

  • Keto might help with PCOS.
  • You don’t need to justify to anyone. I understand that maintenance is a whole new ball game and you might just enjoy figuring out the new rules.
  • Five pounds either way can be water weight.
  • Comparison is the thief of joy. Nine pounds in your first month is exactly where you want to be. Other people’s opinions? Bish. Losing weight is hard enough. I am vague and unspecific to random comments and opinions. They don’t have to live in my body.
  • I’m rather late to the party. I think you are on your way. Here’s the best online resources I have found. Along with the medical referral you might find some insight from your readings. http://www.cci.health.wa.gov.au/resources/looking-after-yourself/disordered-eating

  • First of all, you used the correct spelling for “lose”. Second, you have given yourself enough time to lose the weight. Two strikes in your favour so I predict all success to you. There’s a great starter thread, on your way to sexypants.
  • Around here it’s bananas after the run. For the potassium I think (not to mention the carb kick).
  • Yogurt has carbs. Fruit has carbs. Granola has carbs. Of course this breakfast is carb heavy. Also concerning you are not weighing anything. Your whole breakfast may have been a hundred calories or more than you logged. Try replacing the granola with a hard boiled egg.

  • When you put in your goals in to MFP it will give you a daily calorie goal plus a percentage of each macro (fat, carbs, protein). As you enter each food you eat MFP will tell you how many grams and the percentage for you.
  • I bet you have noted all sorts of improvements to mobility and health markers.

  • For ready made pizza try a Dr. Oetker thin crust. Watch your portion sizes and pair it with a nice salad. For ready made cookies try Glutino chocolate dipped wafer cookies. Save money by bulk roasting your meat at the beginning of the week then adding to various recipes. Have wraps on hand to wrap up those leftovers for…
  • That all being said, here are my favourite healthied-up recipes: Black bean brownie. (More fiber, less sugar) https://pin.it/uw7s7vzobbo37z Mediterranean Tuna Salad. (Low carb high fiber) https://pin.it/nsr4shv2xwsuv6 Chickpea Casserole (more fiber) https://pin.it/hbyqg5zld7dfaj
  • Healthy can be eating one slice of pizza instead of two. I see lots of recipes where the fat is reduced or eliminated but I’ve decided, especially for salad dressings and Mediterranean recipes, that the olive oil and cheese are important carriers for vitamins, not to mention taste. Another way to healthy up a recipe is to…
