  • Super nanny gathers all of the snacks in a big bin and puts it up on a top shelf. The children get to pick one *one* snack set out for the morning break. She is also a big fan of scheduled activities. Treasure hunt and hide and seek come to mind.
  • What time of day do you overeat? Are you physically hungry? What are you doing at the time? Are there any emotions that you are feeding? Sometimes digging to the causes can lead to creative solutions.
  • How about eggs and milk?
  • That’s right. Nothing happens.
  • The first two things I did was to ask for referral to a dietitian, and started logging all my meals. I quickly learned to associate certain foods with a spike in blood sugar. Suddenly sweets and white rice became a lot less appealing. The best imagery I was given was the diabetic plating method.…

  • No advice but I offer a fist bump. Here’s a good book. https://www.bullpub.com/living-a-healthy-life-with-chronic-conditions-bulk-ebook-sales.html
  • I give you the point regarding the potato chips. There is a mandatory life skills course in Alberta. Being mandatory I think makes it automatically unpopular. http://www.learnalberta.ca/ProgramOfStudy.aspx?lang=en&ProgramId=317412#
  • The chatty selfie-find-a-word-where-u-from-I-need-friends-are-U-bored are worse. At least Keto is diet/health related. Surely there are hookup discussion boards more suited than MFP. scroll-scroll-scroll
  • Can’t stop the ageing but you can learn to live well. Being old and sick at the same time sucks. Stay active. Eat moderately and eat a variety of foods. Meditate and keep a gratefulness journal. Be kind. Laugh a lot. Keep the best traditions from your childhood, fully appreciate every moment as that’s all you’ve got, and…
  • There is the dough setting on the bread maker which takes out the lions share of the labour. Experienced bakers can correct me if I am wrong on this but a higher temp oven will give a crispier crust.

  • How about cutting caffeine? I cut myself off after noon.
  • How about carrot sticks with a low fat creamy dressing? Half a protein bar. Babybel light cheese. Hard boiled egg. I peel it and dust it generously with pepper. It goes in to a snack size ziploc.
  • I had Bariatric surgery and losing significant weight likely added ten years of health to my life. However, you don’t want it. Don’t go in to a surgery that requires this sort of commitment if you don’t want it.
  • My dad subscribed to this service. https://www.hearttohomemeals.ca
  • I reuse my Ziplocs many times over. Great idea.
  • In my bread maker experiments I could reduce the sugar but not the salt. I just couldn’t get enough loft. It’s not like a lot of salt is needed.
  • Use the stairs in your building. https://youtu.be/VlA9ReTdjFs
  • Here are some free self help materials. https://www.cci.health.wa.gov.au/Resources/Looking-After-Yourself You deserve self care after a stressful day. A trick is to replace the eating with something else that is more satisfying. Myself my willpower is about done just before dinner time. To disrupt my old binge habit I…
  • Fat calories are a rude shock. All the meals you mentioned have high fat additions. Fat helps many feel full faster so if you measure carefully and stay in your calorie limit you will still lose weight. There are lower fat options. Nothing replaces feta really. Finely chopped cauliflower will replicate the look. Maybe try…

  • Meal prep saves time. All you need to do is carve out an afternoon to get ahead of the game. I had a job with similar hours and commute as your hubby and I packed five mini meals to ride me over. He can eat the same meals as you, with extras. His extras can be full cream, nuts, hikers mix, and protein shakes. If I was in…
  • I like baking tofu to give it a crisp exterior without a lot of muss and fuss. I use extra firm. https://pin.it/2dx3pruhpcm5io
  • About fats, a serving is between a teaspoon and a tablespoon. You would use this much fat say, in an olive oil as part of a salad dressing. Or in the yolk of an egg. The dog will love a more active you.
  • Has your weight fluctuated up and down during that period?
  • I fill half my plate with veggies. My carb is a smaller side, about the same size as my protein.

  • I suggest you keep a diary of how you are feeling and your energy levels. Make notes about what works. Make up your own mind and you will be less susceptible to random advice from well meaning friends and family. It’s your body. Own it.
  • Ummmm, what else is there? I cruise the discount bins at the bulk food store and the organics aisle. I’ve bought glutino chocolate wafers which are low calorie and delish. I have sugar free mini chocolate chunks for the same reason. For creative shakes and cooking I get sugar free syrups (hazelnut) chia seeds, flax seeds,…
  • I get whey protein isolate and make my own concoctions. But I don’t lose weight from it. I think the prepared powders taste different, and people’s tastes are different too. Try a few so don’t buy a big tub of anything and definitely don’t get the brand recommended by your trainer. People need a minimum protein amount for…
  • My highest blood sugar numbers are before breakfast, due to the “dawn phenomenon” where my enthusiastic liver dumps glycogen directly in to my blood stream. No kick start needed! Bodies are amazing.
