I track my weight on www.fourmilab.ch/cgi-bin/HackDiet/ It shows changes over time with graphs, trend analysis, monthly logs, etc. and also gives an idea of daily caloric deficit or excess based on your weight over time. It's free.

^^^This! I completely agree. Sign up for a race the same time you will be finishing your C25K program to help keep you motivated. Run the race, don't worry about your time, walk if you need to, and HAVE FUN! After your first race, you can make beating that time your next goal. I started running in 2010 with C25K. I ran my…

I completely agree that you are underweight! I do understand your goal though. You are wanting to reduce your body fat % while putting on some muscle (not bulky). Good goals to pursue. It will take time and dedication. It will not happen overnight and it will not happen by starving yourself. Your current plan will lead to…

I would be interested to know what your blood sugar is at 1 hour. You may just have to try some different things and find what works. In the long run, it would be better to resolve the issue through diet rather than meds. Everything you mention for breakfast would be higher on the glycemic index, so it would spike your…

If your insulin levels are low, it seems it would still be possible to pass a glucose test at 1, 2, and 3 hours but still have spiked your blood sugar enough immediately following the consumption of the glucose to cause tiredness. Your body may just be slow to deal with it. Were your numbers at 1 hour 'high' but still…

Truth! Started running in Jan of 2010 and ran my first half that October. Promised myself once I finished the half I would quit if I hated it. Couldn't do it. I've run 7 more since and I'm training for my first full marathon now. It is life changing. Huge Victory!

Congratulations!! :)

That's fair - and a very good point. My first year I ran a 5k, 10k, and a half marathon. Since then I've run six 5ks, four 10ks, and eight half marathons with a PR of 2:11. I average between a 10 and 11 minute miles depending on my distance and running conditions. Prior to marathon training, I was running between 22 and 25…

Agreed. Your calories are too low. Check out the Eat More to Weigh Less group and read, read, read. Once you educate yourself a little more, then you can decide what changes to make and ask for more advice if needed. Good luck! :)

Awesome! I just started this program last week...thanks for the visual. Also - there are you tube videos if anyone is interested.

Great news! Keep it up. I am an insulin dependent diabetic and can honestly say this is a condition you do not want to manage for the rest of your life.

Good for you!!

Here's what jumped out at me. 1) Make sure you are well hydrated. 2) You had success with the lifting, running, resting routine. So why not go back to that? I understand the need to prepare for your endurance events, so maybe just rest 1 day per week and alternate the running and lifting. Another option would be to add…

You are not alone. You just described me about 6 years ago, right after I was diagnosed with diabetes. I made excuses and plans for years, but never followed through with doing it. I promise you, you can change your life! It won't be easy, but it will be worth it!!

^^ Agreed! Check a calorie calculator and see how many calories you should be consuming. You'll really be wondering why things aren't working when you stop losing weight altogether with so few calories.

I really don't think that 1,000 to 1,500 calories/days is enough. You might try this calorie calculator and see what you come up with for comparison. http://scoobysworkshop.com/calorie-calculator/#personalizedmeal Also, when I was training for my first half marathon, there were days that is was really tough - especially…

Agreed! Take a few days to log your favorite foods/normal eating habits, so you can get an idea of how many calories you have been consuming. Then, you can use some of the calculators on this site, or other sites, to determine how many calories you should be eating. I'm diabetic, so I understand the extra challenge of…

I love it!! Awesome job! :) Women need to lift and they are short changing themselves when they don't...

Assuming your TDEE is correct, keep everything the same and eat that amount to maintain your current weight. However, if you ever find you need to lose some, you would cut your daily calories by 10 to 20% to create a small deficit. I agree with the others though, if you want a lean cut look (assuming you don't have fat to…

If you don't like exercising much, but want to get a better idea of how many calories you are burning in a day, invest in a BodyFit Media. It will track how many calories you are burning in a 24 hour period. Once you have a better idea of how many calories you are burning with your daily activities of gardening and walking…
