No. I've been tempted, but decided the end result would be getting fired, divorced, and disowned....

Random posting for anyone who knows someone in the Phoenix area with a little girl (or possibly a boy! ) Via work we have Disney Princesses on Ice tickets (US Airways Center, Thurs. April 7th). If anyone wants some, message me, though know they might have to be able to pick them up in Scottsdale some time next week…

pleasantly surprised to learn that my Y wrongly uses the word "laps" when saying how many laps are in a mile. They say 72 laps in a mile, but the correct term is 72 lengths in a mile. I've been swimming 72 laps (down and back) and counting it as a mile. All this time I've been swimming 2+ miles! (I thought I was…

Our techs can tell us sex but nothing medical. It might say on your chart if it is a boy or not, though I know if parents choose not to know they often leave that off so that the Dr doesn't accidentally slip and mention it - sounds like yours may have? At that point I would totally have to find out even if I decided not…

The chinese chart that I forget who on here posted (Dragonfly?) was right for both mine. But 2 boys and nauseated 24/7 with the first. Barely any nausea with the 2nd (comparatively.)

I don't know. I know "they" say that it helps put things back after pregnancy, but I have to think that it might hinder? Wouldn't you think that actually just holding in your stomach and focusing on your posture would do more training and toning of your muscles than elastic holding them in and not requiring them to…

Yes... fire hazards are always a hilarious April Fools joke.  I really wanted our whole staff to call in sick this morning around the same time and then wait 1/2 hour before calling back to say "joking" but my boss seriously would have a coronary in the mean time so.... probably would have been a bad idea!…

Ha! I have you both beat! It was two days before my due date. I came home after work and told my husband that I'd been having contractions all day and that they were getting stronger. Less than an hour later he informed me that he was thinking of heading out with a buddy to shoot some pool (which for him usually means $100…

OMG I love the fair! All I can say is FUNNEL CAKE! know I ate at ton that day but also - eating it in one day like that - most of it is just going to go right through you - especially if you had a bunch of greasy food! - it won't all be converted to fat. Plus... it's the fair! You only go once a year - enjoy it! :drinker:…

I'd recommend periodically taking your pulse throughout the workout so you can get an idea of how hard you are working out compared to your body type. You can figure this in then when logging. I'd say it's more likely 400 calories. There are a lot of places online you can guestimate a burn based on your periodic HR.
-
Consider making your diary public? Possible reasons - eating too little? Overestimating your calorie burn and eating too much? Are you weighing your food? Are you logging every bite that you eat? (I tend to estimate and also to substitute (ie, instead of logging my particular banana bread recipe I will use a generic entry…

what is "it"? MFP? possibly you are logging it under the same "name" exercise, but it is two different logs in the exercise database and based on different formulas / calorie burn. Your HRM - that'd just be because each workout is different.

Here you go: (tried to post the photo for you, but it was too big.... they'll have to cut and paste: http://s1184.photobucket.com/albums/z323/shawnab1026/?action=view¤t=weightloss2.jpg) great job by the way!

There's a good chance it is. Also 1200 is not the magic number. Some people might be under that. I would recommend getting something like a BodyMediaFit or BodyBugg that tracks your calorie burn throughout the day and you will get a great understanding about how you burn. They're like $100 and require a subscription, but…

I'd have no problem leaving my kid in the car for 2 minutes putting the cart back. That being said, I always park next to the cart rack even if it's all the way at the other end of the parking lot. Who cares if I walk a little further and then you just drop your cart when you're done. I think super duper overprotective and…

My problem with resistance bands is there is no way to know how many pounds of resistance it really equals out to be. You can get a great workout from them though - I'm just a numbers person and like to know so I can see improvement in moving up in weights etc. Also, be sure you have somewhere you can attach them to so you…

just don't overdo it. Don't be afraid to lift light and build up. Get there a little early to let the instructor know and find out a little about the class - ie how many reps you will be doing etc - and they can recommend a weight for you. If they are doing lots of reps you'll want to be sure to be light enough to do them…

Whoever mentioned it is right - you can't do certain exercises to slim your thighs - you can only tone them and burn off general body fat with cardio. I will never have thin thighs. I can lose weight, but I have muscular thighs and calves and they will never look slim - they can look solid though.

I want a pair of barefoot shoes. I've always had more back pain when I run because of how I land, but have WAY less when I run barefoot. I don't want to buy w/out trying them on and want to try some of the other variations like the Nikes etc first, but would you believe I can't find anywhere locally that sells more than…

You should be proud, but if you are still a private person about it, you can always decline the exposure. On the other hand, just putting it out there might help you "get over" the insecurity. Do what you feel comfortable with. Seriously, do you care what people from highschool you never talk to anymore think of you at…

my boss forwards me emails (or replies to an email I send her) and asks me to forward them to people. (people she has in her address book and knows the email address for!)

it forces the topic back into the "recent posts" section, as well as adds it to their list of "my topics"

Me too! Just skipping getting dressed in the morning is such a nice step! I also got an electric toothbrush. I say it's for mornings where I am too tired to remember how to use a manual toothbrush!

I don't get up that early. I get up at 6 or 6:30 though often for working out. The thing that gets me out of bed is - i say to myself when I don't want to "i will never regret having gotten up and worked out. I will regret sleeping in." I also don't do it every day. Sometimes i enjoy sleeping in.... til 8 or 9! LOL, why is…

what about getting a book on tape or something to lose yourself in while you run? I know it's not another person, but it might give you something to look forward to and keep yourself busy with while working out. Libraries of course have the tapes and CDs - but many also have digital / MP3 copies you can "check out" online…

I'm 150 and if I walk 1 hour / 4 mi my HRM tells me over 650 cals! It really keeps my HR at a nice level the whole time - right about 160 steady. I believe my HRM overestimates so I would say probably 500 - 550. Walking is a GREAT calorie burn though if you push yourself! It's actually somewhat surprising!

I get off work between 6 and 7. My husband gets home from work sometime between 7:30 and 9 and we eat when he gets home.... sometimes we start cooking when he gets home! I tend not to eat as heavily late, usually because I have snacked in the mean time, but I don't worry about it. It's a little bit of family time I don't…

Anyone know where to find these on Charter's on demand?? I have not been able to yet. I remember there were tons on comcast when we had that. I found a wellness section but all it had was infomercials for Total Gym, Brazil Butt Lift etc, no actual programs.

It's different for everyone. 1200 is not a magic number. And going under your # (whatever it is) for a day or so or every so often is not bad. Your body learns from routine. If I go under 1400 for 5 or 6 days I get lethargic (and cranky ) I don't worry if I have a day every so often where i net 1000 or even 500…

Yes, the ones w/out will read your heart rate (you have to stop and put your fingers on it) but not continuously, which won't give you an accurate reading. if you are serious about wanting one, I say, if you can't spare $75 or 100 then wait a month or two or three and buy one that is good rather than getting what you can…
